this is by far your best post!!!!i have read it several times over LOL...I dont think most fans realize how much we have really dominated this series..

now if i was a player on other rutheford county teams i might take offense to that...you are saying that the girls on all of the county teams are not good enough to play for Riverdale...and that is not the case...while we are VERY talented we are not the all star team the paper and coaches will come out with that at the end of the year GO LADY WARRIORS

I lived there in the early 80s with GOO baby woods i was at the 82 state championship game against LC we moved here in 85 because my dad decided to go to college and that was the start of my freshman year in high school...ill never forget the day in spring practice we rode the bus to the high school (the freshman had just moved to the high school that year) and while we were doing drills coach Short said "now thats a football player right there" yeah my head swelled up lol...but i lived there from 81-85 half of 4th grade through all of 8th

you wont see any RIVERDALE fan eating crow...we didnt dish out anything to eat crow about except for compliments to your team...IN FACT i believe even after the game there was not one excuse given we complimented you on the game said you was the better team and licked our wounds all the way back to murfreesboro

hard for a fullback in a wing T to get accolades...espcially when he had 2 things going against him #1 when the season started he played with a bad hamstring had modest numbers and was used or given the ball in spots #2 when we had the big games he was used and given the ball but for the most part he was being saved for the playoff push in my opinion anyway that kid would have touched the ball 25-30 times with me he is a tough runner with a lot of heart

my son who is playing in college said he would prefer to use wood...his teammates and him are not fans of the new bats

you bring up several good points but i do have a counter point to that...when we showed up for football and 2 a days that was the first time we did any work for football other than maybe running around the block a mile or 2 TODAYS KIDS work everyday a couple hours a day during the summer and work out everyday during school so they are in better so called football shape than we were as far as talent at RIVERDALE we was not as good as the 04 or 94 team but we was just as talented as our other state champion teams and runner ups HAVING SAID THAT MARYVILLE WAS really good too And FINALLY Coach Rankin is a GREAT COACH he is not in the TSSAA football hall of fame and the RIVERDALE hall of fame for nothing. and people told us after the 94 team our talent was gonna go down then after the 97 team same thing then after the 01 team the same thing and the 04 same thing so I am lead to belive that we would have been ok the 00 02 03 teams had no business being in the state championship game as they were young but we always found a way to win

my girls lost to memphis central in OT today 68-60

I agree about playing our back up more but i also agree with that in basketball...we are u0p 30 points in basketball and the starters are still in... That is one of the things that Rankin did we knew the year before who the starters was going to be the next year he didnt put in whole sale subs he would play 2 or 3 here and then another 2 3 there mixing it up not always the entire 2nd team some starters and some second and third teamers... One of the disadvantages with running the wing T a lot of times the score doesnt get much seperation until 4th QTR and with the mercy rule and the clock not stopping then that gives less time and fewer plays for the back ups to get in...and as a PARENT of a back up WE HATE THAT LOL (he is only a freshman so he hasnt been effected by this) A good example of this helping RIVERDALE was in 01 we lost our lineman 5A Mr football lineman due to an injury in the semi finals game and we had a SO step in and take his place and that SOPH won the defensive MVP and building that depth during the season REALLY helped that night

I think there is nothing wrong with the break from the last game til the first of the year I do know they lift weights everyday during school so they are still working on getting stronger as i think we was shown how much improving we must do as both of our lines were dominated but the fact of the matter is even though they are young men their bodies still need rest!... TDCMAN I agree with you as there were a lot of improvements on the team this year and we did look better in almost every phase of the game and if we improve next as much as we did last year then I like our chances... another poster was right also in 2 phases DEFENSE wins the championships!!!! PLAIN and simple its all about the defense...and i dont totally disagree about the wing T HOWEVER since coach A has been here he has changed his approach some and right now he has the best QB he has ever had I rank him better than Dsve Thomas was (04) Dave could make the plays running as can Dillon but Dillon is better at throwing the ball...so lets have a little break and get back fresh and ready to work in January GO WARRIORS

we will have a very good team again next year...last night we found out where we need to be and hopefulyl during the off season we can do what it takes to get there so that we can get back to the sate championship game GO WARRIORS

10...you had 1 person ask a question that she has seen all year and yall make it more of an issue than she has 9...I read the DNJ on line therefore no trees killed for me 8...playing at home is a good thin 7...I am jelouse of this and I do miss it 6...basketball starts without football players and dont forget our girls are pretty good 5...we dont go out of state for competition we go to fill our schedule 4...i guess we have siegel 3...you have not heard any RIVERDALE fan make any excuses over our loss last night in fact we have given yall praise after praise and you still insist that we dont give you the respect you derserved 2...scorboard was ugly 1...he will soon be in the hall of fame with Rankin RIVERDALE FANS have given you all the praise and respect in the world before and after the game but yet you seem to thinkwe have slighted you and I dont understand while yall feel this way...back in the day when we was doing what yall were doing we was called classless and cheaters and everything else in the book but you all get respect from us please dont confuse MY RIVERDALE FANS with fans from other teams

I also dont understand or know why we take a knee when someone gets hurt if a strecher come out with an ambulance MAYBE but other than its whatever

well I would like to thank Maryville for that spanking tonight it was a good one... your offensive line DOMINATED OUR LINE ALL NIGHT LONG!!!our OL had its moments but your lines dominated ours yall are right about #5 Adam Davenport he is a beast and a TRUE WARRIOR he fought all night long from the first snap til the last he left it all on the field last night and I appreciate that Adam... I thought Andrew Dale did OK he definatly didnt cost us the game the drops hurt and I ma sure there is 1 or 2 he would like to have back but he did well... yall was right the mercy rule took effect in the 4th QTR and we see how far we have to go to get where we want to get and that is another state championship we have a LONG WAY to go so lets go to work and improve in all areas to achieve that goal I LOVE MY WARRIORS

if we get beat the last thing you will hear from us is an excuse...in fact i think by the end of the game either win or lose your going to be saying wow this is the back up QB the the starter must be REALLY good...Dale is a good Qb and he will do just fine so we will come down there and run our game plan just as if Woody was in there and lets see what happens

I am soooo excited to leave tomorrow I first must leave for work at 3am...i hope to be done around 9am...pick up a kid to take to the game after that and hope to be on the road to maryville at 11am and then meet up with my fellow WARRIORS for a nice lunch and hopefully a great game... I am not going to make a score prediction but i will pick my WARRIORS TO WIN after i am RIVERDALEMAN but what i do find troubling is the predictions on this thread of how bad we are going to get beat and evena prediction that they dont THINK this will be a mercy rule...I sure hope we can put on a better showing then what people think we are able to do as I would HATE to make that drive and have to be back at work at 4Am on saturday...so im looking forward to my WARRIORS buckling up their chin straps and giving a fight and at least make this game competitive
