Answer the question: are private schools fair when interviewing public school coaches?? Do they look at records and such, or are they already set on hiring private school people?? I know the answer, do you?

I agree wholeheartedly! The regular season now means nothing!

Just my picks: Gallatin to beat McGavock in a low scoring game and Whites Creek to beat Hendersonville (too much home court advantage).

I try to never complain about officiating. Hillsboro had a good team and congratulations on a good season for Troy Allen. In our game with Hillsboro, we didn't play well and it beat us, but we got in extreme foul trouble. Now there were many controversial calls in our game and we got the short end each time. Had we been a mature team, we would have been able to overcome this, I believe. We played a 2-3 zone just for the reason of foul problems,however, we still fouled 2 times as much as a team that plays sticky man to man defense. Yes, it is hard to figure! :confused:

If Bolivar plays up to their potential, they will beat Giles Co. They have better athletes and believe me, Brian Lake is the real deal. Giles is very good and if Bolivar becomes selfish, they will lose, however.

daba, you better believe Richard Campbell is the real deal. He can coach and yes he is a great role model. Know the person before you start talking. He is definitely deserving. I am bewildered that private school people would even think of complaining because they sure don't like to hire public school people - no matter what their record is!! :confused:

I have applied at private schools in basketball. I had better credentials, records, etc. I never got into the top 4. I know one thing - private school people want private school people, period. Now you tell me, is that fair???

I'm afraid I would really ruffle feathers at that private school, because I play what "I" think are the best players no matter what their daddy gives. Not a good fit.

Jerry Meyer is a class act. I really believe that whoever takes his place will have a hard act to follow. MBA is a great school with a lot of tradition and I wish them well, but lets get real -- they do not have the players they had under Bowers. I know, we scrimmaged them and they were always very well coached -- you will see! You will miss Coach Meyer; he never had a chance.

I hate to go out in a losing way. I am rethinking my decision and it is possible that I may be back one more year. The retirement system is about to change for the better , so I may stay ???? Bubba, Jamal, Barry, Marquette, Jimmy and others may have to put up with the old man one more year.

Coach West is one of the best coaches in the state. I should know; we beat them by one point in the substate last year. Good luck to Coach West,again he has done a great job. I hope we can meet again some time.

What's going on Coaches Shadow and 763? You guys are some of the best Metro has ever had. Just wanted to let you know that I really respect what you did at your respective schools. You are really great coaches.

I have known Richard Campbell for many years. I know Coach Campbell to be one of the best coaches I have ever seen. He is disciplined, caring, intelligent, and a man I would want my son playing for. If he got the Hunters Lane job , Hunters Lane will have them a GREAT coach and a GREAT person and a GREAT teacher! Go for it Coach! I love it! [Edited by PantherGam on 2-26-03 7:44P]

Even though they beat us on a last second tip in last year in the state, I really believe Coach Blevins is a class act. He is a great coach and Bearden is lucky to have him. Go for it Coach!

We, at Maplewood, have never been able to host the district 12AAA tournament because we have an antique gym. It only seats 1100.

We open with Pearl-Cohn and I believe W.Creek plays Antioch, McGavock and Glencliff. We have a meeting in the morning and I will know for sure. Our tournament will probably have a bunch of upsets. I know one thing Pearl-Cohn is good!

I believe Hunters Lane plays Stratford right out of the shoot. Could be tough for the Lane??

I agree totally. District tournaments should be played at a neutral site, but they never will.

If the Tennessean doesn't vote in the AP poll, how does the Nashville area get any recognition? Huh? :confused:
