  2. I think that this game is gonna be unpredictable. But I hope that Summertown wins at least by 1, LOL!!
  3. they prefer "Lady Eagles", but thanks for the post.
  4. Great idea. You got it Coach!! Email sent.
  5. I cant find an audio link that works. Anyone else find one?
  6. I have been foutunate to see both play many sports. I would agree that they both are good, but neither is GREAT. I have seen better.
  7. Let us not turn this thread into a name calling contest. CoachT is probally watching this thread very carefully and we dont want to get locked. I am glad that i started this thread because it has shed a lot of light on the questions i asked. I do want to say that although i appreciate the player's input on this subject ( that it is OK). I think that their perspective will change when they get a little older. I also want to thank the coaches that had the courage to post.
  8. Thank you for your opinion Coach. It is greatly appreciated and hopefully some other coaches will take it to heart. On that note i believe this thread has run its course.
  9. I agree. We have heard from spectators, parents and players. Is there a coach or administrator that would like to comment on the subject? Is there something that we are missing?
  10. Why can you not buy your own?
  11. He has "closed" practices. He locks the gym doors and no one has access to their child. I do not have a child that plays or will ever play for this man. Everyone is sorta missing the point. The swearing at the young adult is the business of that players parents. I am more concerned in the way the Coach represented the school. There are a few words that we consider everyday vulgarities, these i understand. But the language this man used last night offended me as a person and a woman.
  12. Overall Record: 22-12 2004-2005 Overall Record: 25-4 2005-2006
  13. I would have to say that the language a coach uses is just as important as loyalty, etc. It shows respect.
  14. We are still talking about kids. Granted some are 19 and considered adults, but we must not forget the 12 year old 7th graders. I am just thankful that my child does not play sports for a certain school under a certain coach. Just think what you would do if the same man appraoched you on the street and said the same thing to you. What would you do? Why do coaches have to tear down the kids to "get them to perform"? Four letter words are for people who have small vocabularies.
  15. Does this theory go for sports only or all apsects of life? I for one know that if I was cussed at work I would NOT work harder for my boss.
  16. I am not overly concerned with the cussing @ a child. That is between the parent, child, and coach. My concern was the appearnce this coach made as a representative of this school.
  17. To put it in more prespective i will tell you the sentence that was heard , without trying to offend anyone. " get out there you "f" "p". Can anyone justify THAT?
  18. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it. How did you get to be so smart?
  19. I dont agree at at all. How does the league you play on make a difference? Schools have more of a moral obligation to their students/players than some Saturday league. Parents in the stands can not be held accountable for their actions. It looks poorly on themsleves ONLY. Coaches on the court/field have more of a responsilbility representing their school than "Joe Blow Dad'" in the stands.
  20. I am glad that i am not the only one that feels this way. I understand that you can not control a parent in the stands or a coach's wife. But you would think that at some point you could control your coaches!! Especially if your assistant is a minister!!! Isn't it funny that are children spend more time with teachers and coaches than their own family yet are treated as poorly as they are. We all need to work together to raise our children to be good citizens. I would never use the "f" word or the "p" word in front of my children. But coaches use them on a daily basis. To the coaches and administrators at all schools: I've got your back but who has mine?
  21. I need other parents's opinopns. I was at a game last night and during a timeout by the home team, I heard the coach yelling vulgarities at a 16 year old kid. I am not this child's parent so i realy cant complain much about him yelling at a kid. What i am complaining about is the fact that he yelled it on the court in front of the visiting teams fans. What kind of example does that set not only for our guests but also for the kids. I would like to point out that these were not "everyday" vulgarities. These had the "F" word and the "P" word. Is a coach allowed to use this language in a classroom setting? If all students (including players) that attend a game have to abide by school policies then why do the coaches get to break theirs? Am i being overly critical, or do i have a right to be angry?
