  1. I read where HHS had 4 fumbles lost, one at the HL 5 yard line in the first half. Was this the difference? It appears both teams played good defense for the most part, and had a spurt of offense here and there. Sounds like turnovers doomed HHS. Congrats on a good season Hendersonville, it was a big improvement over last year! Commando Pride!
  2. The HHS offense has struggled all year. If they are to win this game, their defense will have to create turnovers and help out the offense any way possible. Franklin has a good offense and should be able to move the ball. All signs point to Franklin having the edge in this game. HHS will have to play very well to pull off the upset on the road.
  3. I had a feeling that the HHS defense would be able to do a good job on gallatin's O. I thought the difference in the game would be if HHS had alot of turnovers or couldnt move the ball, thus giving gallatin's O the short field and good scoring opportunities. I didn't see the game, wish I had, but judging by the score, I guess it was a hardfought defensive game where both offenses struggled to move the ball. Any details besides my pointless speculation?
  4. Is the game over? I'm in east tn, so surely it is. what's the final?
  5. I believe air horns are not allowed. I know people sometimes bring them, but they can distract the teams on the field, and the administration is supposed to take away any air horns that are used. I think it's the same with other very loud noisemakers. Jugs and cowbells are fine. Go Commandos!
  6. HHS's stadium is just fine if not better than Gallatin's. Quality over quantity in my book. And Gallatin and Beech are the only teams HHS plays in the regular season that bring close to enough people to fill up the visitor side. As far as the game, HHS will have to play a perfect game and Gallatin will have to make some mistakes for the Commandos to come out on top. HHS offense has been struggling, and that's not a good thing when playing a defense like GHS. Special teams advantage also favors GHS. Gallatin has got to be favored by at least a couple TD's, if not more. Hopefully HHS will step up and make it a good game with it being senior night and a tv game, but it'll take everything they've got.
  7. This is the biggest game for each team on the remaining schedule in my opinion. A win for HHS gives them the tiebreakers and virtually puts them in the playoffs. A win by Antioch and they are right back in the playoff mix and could have a good chance of making the playoffs. HHS needs to view this game as a win-and-in game. If they win, they should be in. It needs to be like a playoff game for both teams bc this is essential to who will be in the top 4 in the region.
  8. Hendersonville's 3 region wins have come against the bottom 3 in the region. We'll see how they play now that they are playing playoff contenders. They need to step up to the plate. I hope the Commandos take the challenge head on and come out with a win, but they are going to have to play better than they have the past couple of games. Antioch will have the speed, so HHS will have to play good to come out with the W.
  9. Way to go Commandos. This win is huge in the region race even though it's early in the season.
  10. How's Mcgavock looked this year? They still running the shotgun wing-t offense? Who's their playmakers? I know they will have more team speed than hhs, so the commandos will have to play very disciplined ball to win.
  11. How many of the turnovers were fumbles and how many were picks? And also did Roper play? If not, I'm sure he woulda made a difference in the game.
  12. Details please. I wish I was there but couldnt make it. Was beech ahead all game? what happened at end of regulation? How did overtime go? What were final stats? I wish HHS woulda pulled it out.
  13. I agree about the best nickname. Named so in honor of WWII fighters and vets.
  14. This should be a good game. This game should go in the way of HHS if they don't make any big mistakes. Last year it was special teams that cost them the win. Talent wise both teams are not that far apart. Beech will be hungry to win 2 in a row in this series, especially after the events that transpired. I think it will be a close low scoring game that will be decided in the 4th. Anyone have any info on Beech? Who are their impact players and how do they match up with HHS?
  15. Very weird that they kept calling timeout when the game was in hand. They should of just let the clock go. Somewhat unsportsmanlike, but i guess Aric felt they needed a score for some sort of moral boost going into next week or something. I'm just glad HHS controlled the game and won handily.
  16. Hopefully its not a bad injury. He seems to be a good young player. What was the score at half? I'm just wondering if it was close early on or not. Either way, its a key win. Big momentum to start the year. Now beat Beech!!!!!!!!
  17. Just got an update a few minutes ago. Score was 25-0 in favor of Hendersonville with 3:00 left in the game. HHS scored 4 TD's, but struggled with the extra points. Way to go Commandos! A big win to start the year over a good team. Time to get ready for the Bucs. ps- Wonder if Rocky played any? And any more in depth details of the game would be great!
  18. These rumors are ridiculous. No way this would be going on for that much money. Maybe a few bucks or two or something, but $1500 has got to be false. Let's just hope both teams go out and play their hardest, and the best team wins. I'm tired of all the sideshow, let's get down to football!
  19. Then exactly who should've played?? Ed was the best RB by far, hurt or not. I think I recall the overton game last year. He broke a 60-70 yd run for a td, then reaggravated his leg again and didn't play the rest of the game. HHS didn't do a thing on offense after that. And there was not a guy deserving to be ahead of DD, he had a rightful place at DB and WR. And how would you have heard what, if anything, was said to Rocky when you're up in the stands? Believe what you want, but it was an intentional action that warranted him being dismissed from the team. But enough about Rocky. It just irritates me when some people say some things. I hope HHS wins, being a Commando fan. But I know that this group of seniors will need to have improved vastly from where they were as juniors. I know a few good players, but I hope overall they are better. And hopefully they come out with an attitude and are determined to get it done. WC is good and probably has edge, and it will take a good effort by HHS to win. I think it'll be close since the coaches are so familiar with each other.
  20. Rocky got kicked off HHS last year for mooning people on the sidelines during the game. I dont know where all this pulling up his girdle stuff came from. I was there and saw it, it was total disrespect. Rocky may have said he was fixing his girdle, cause he's slick like that to try to cover things up. I will say he does have some athletic ability, but his attitude was a detriment to HHS last year. Let's hope he gets things together on and off the field. As far as bashing Coach Hatfield, let's see.....2 state title appearances isnt bad. Programs go through ups and downs. With new schools opening and the talent being spread around, it gets tougher and tougher to win. And I'd say he played the seniors last year because they were the best players available, this year will be the same. Seniors are the leaders and most will start on any high school team. Don't come on here and go on a rampage when your facts aren't entirely straight.
  21. Whats the result? And did this Roper kid move in from somewhere? I've never heard of him. Is he fast or a pounder or what?
  22. Any word on how HHS did vs. Tullahoma? Hopefully they do get it together this year and get back in the playoffs
  23. Well Sawyer didn't play special teams first of all. and hhs did control the game on both sides of the ball. you are right though, special teams was the difference. hhs would've won by about two TD's had it not been for special teams breakdowns. i think hhs will get back on track this year in this series because they won't overlook special teams this year.
