  1. actually Page had 6 turnovers and 110 yards in penalties. Anxious to see what CHS brings to my boys at INDY next week
  2. I saw Indy scrimmage Giles and fairviews nose guard can't even begin to compare to Dangerfield. If he does then he is definitely D-1. Will be interesting to here how Page's O-line handle's Fairviews D-line
  3. Was not there but heard my boys got beat. Also heard there was a bench clearing brawl. Why would WC start a fight?
  4. Lets call a spade a spade. It is really cool all the stuff Blade has them doing. And Hillsboro is very talented. But the overall competition in 4A is not up to the other divisions. There are no privates to compete with which is a plus. There are only 3 maybe 4 teams that are good in 4A every year. Maryville, Hillsboro and accasionally Melrose. If anyone thinks Maryville would have won as many championships over the same span in 5A then they are nuts. Again understand Hillsboro and MAryville will face each other again in Murfreesboro in 07 the primary reason being the lack of competition in 4A.
  5. If Dowd is in the top 2 recievers then this region must stink at the reciever position. He has caught maybe 20 balls the last 2 seasons. I saw him the Independence game and if you breathe on him he falls down. He wouldn't even be in the top 6 at Independence. I thought Bagsby and Robbins for Page were better than him. I though Hightower played RB last year?
  6. Not to sure where you got your information about Page but you gotz to be crazy. And Dowd being talented that is funny. Can't take a hit not very fast and Dowd is definitely not very tough. Lankford will be the RB.
  7. So is Grace looking for a coach or not
  8. This region is so hard to predict. DL is head and shoulders above the rest so they are 1st. Montgomery are heads and shoulders below the rest so they are last. Spring Hill now has to learn to deal with some success. They are losing their playmakers and will be hard to replace them. I see them falling a little. Remember everyone is on their bandwagon but they only won 4 regular season games. Marshall has the best talent in the region bar none. With Coach Thomas at the reigns they could be tough. I expect them to challenge for the region this year. Giles they lost a lot of seniors but they have a good staff. Giles has always put athletes on the field so we will have to wait and see how much they grow. Cheatham again a well coached team with very average athletes. They should be better after another year of maturity. Creekwood I thought they were supposed to be young this past year. Don't know know much about them other than a good coaching staff. Page was very young last year. 6 starters on Defense were sophomores and 7 starters on Offense were sophomores. They were 1 win away from the playoffs. I know most would disagree but I thought Coach Palmer and staff did a good job. Not very many athletes at Page from what my sources say. Most of their athletes now play for my beloved Independence Eagles. Jack Daniels brings a new philosophy and style. If anyone can reach these players he can.
  9. Could the fact that BGA is looking for a new Offensive Coordinator mean Danny Knowl is the new head coach for Centennial.
  10. You mentione Whitehead. What is his first name and how old is he?
  11. AAU basketball is all summer long and most coaches have a buddy or someone to run a team so their High School players can play on that team. It is rediculous to have Basketball all summer long. It is also unfair to the teams that try and do it right for other teams to put their high school team all on one AAU team for the summer. that is pretty much year round practice. If they decide to take away 7 on 7 then they should definitely take away AAU. I also agree with taking away the Fall Baseball. Both Baseball and BAsketball are year round.
  12. This is easily fixed. If the coaches would steo up and force TSSAA to put a stop to AAU then B-ball players would have a break. I know someone is going to say they can't do that but if they made a rule that if you play AAU with anyone from your high school team then you are ineligible that would be the end of that. Same thing for baseball. But no TSSAA wants to take away 7 on 7 tournaments. TSSAA is trying to push Tennessee to become a B-Ball state.
  13. He didn't know BGA was going to move to DII and have to compete with BA, MBA, etc. They were not upfront with him about that and I don't blame him for leaving if he does. Centennial could be a gold mine for the right coach. I still say keep an eye on Coach Palmer. He will get players out. But whoever gets it they will only be as good as the assistant coaches they bring in. I also heard that coach Finney resigned his position at CHS as well.
  14. Let mw throw a couple names that I know have put in for the job. Jack Daniels even though he has been connected with Page has put in his resume for Centennial. So Jack may not want Page the most but will settle for it if he doesn't get CHS. And believe it or not he is baaaaaaack. Tim Johnson has put his name in the hat.
  15. Look for coach Palmer to be in the running. Would be a great fit and he would get out the players. I think Daniels is a done deal at Page so he is out of the picture. I also hear that Phillips will be promoted which I think would be a mistake. He is already there and couldn't get the players out nothing changes once he is head coach. CHS fans should get behind coach Palmer or a hard push for Daniels. They are both in the county and could start working with the players right away.(weightroom,etc.)
  16. Come on now Bulldogs you worry about Page and leave Indy out of it. Just because I was rassing Sacdawgs doesn't mean you come and bad mouth one of our coaches. There is a difference in disagreeing with some choices the staff makes and just blatantly putting down a coach. Leave Gates alone! he works hard as does Smith and the rest of the staff. i may not agree with Smith on a lot of things but he does work hard.
  17. Sure you are. And I have some Ocean front property in Columbia for sale. It is o.k. to pat yourself on the back don't get so disgruntled
  18. This would probably mean something if it came from anyone but one of the coaches. However, even though the source of this post should not have posted this I do agree that they did a pretty good job.

  20. I completely agree with a lot of what you said. But it is not my personal vandetta against Smith. I have gotten to know him a lot better over the course of this year but that doesn't mean that I can't have questions or doubts about some of his decisions. It may not be any of your business what Smith does with program but it is mine as I have a lot vested in this program. Smith is a good man but I can differ with his decisions. If he had a family emergency why couldn't his other coaches bring them in to run and watch film as you say? And Indy did not Pounce on the Raptors midfield
  21. Didn't you say that last week? "we will find out what Indy is made of this week" Let's break down Indy and this is coming from a fan, however I feel their best year will be next year. They have played 3 teams that have not one a game. Centennial (0-8), Seigal (0-8) and Hillwood (0-8). They have beaten an average at best Page (3-5) team and Clarksville NE who is 2-6. That means 5 of their wins where against teams with combined record of 5-35. Yes they beat Franklin but if memory serves me correct Franklin was up 17-0 before they lost their QB. I love some of the Indy kids but they have beaten no one and all of middle tennessee was jumping on their band wagon. Now everyone wants to question the kids pyschie? Maybe everyone should step back and look at coaching. A coach who took Monday off on the week of an important playoff game. A coach who didn't even attempt to run the ball against Ravenwood. A coach who many of the players are doubting his discipline because he lets the QB run wild. A coach who many of the players are angry with because they had to organize their own practice on Monday. Quit blaming the players and I am not saying blame the coaches either I am just saying make up your mind and either completely support the Eagles or don't support the Eagles. Quit strattling the fence. These kids have been committed since day one and I am behind them 100%.
  22. Indy is so confident that they didn't evenj practice on Monday. Some of the players are saying the head coach went on vacation with his wife. Is this over confidence or lack of respect for BHS. Hope Martin, Grigsby, and the boys pull it out inspite of the coaches. Biggest game of season and don't practice rediculous. Just when I was becoming a Smith supporter
  23. Hasn't he been pushing the envelop anyways? I heard he has been in trouble a couple of times. That the burger was the last straw. Maybe if the coaches would have taken care of all the little things he was doing this wouldn't have happened. Maybe the punishment does fit the crime if he had been in trouble before. Proud of the rest of the Eagles they played a heck of a game.
  24. You have to remember other coaches in the region vote for that order of finish. Most coaches vote themselves last to keep the kids from getting over confident. Can't put much emphasize on Murphy Fair preseason rankings.
  25. I will be pulling for Page while watching Indy but don't think the Patriots have much of a chance against Creekwood.
