  1. Congratulations to Grace Lady Golden Eagles on their sub state victory. I hope the Gordonsville faithful had a safe trip back in time to make if for graduation.
  2. You don't have a clue. Not all private schools recruit. It is an unfair playing field because the private schools also get hit with a multiplier. Also, most of these small private christian schools don't even come close to having the same facilities (gym, weight room) as many of the other public 1A schools. This conversation gets old quick so back on topic. The way GBA has been playing lately they gett the nod. GC is a much better team than most give them credit for on these boards.
  3. Keep in mind Temple is about 1/4 the size of Union City. I'm not normally a Temple fan but for the size school they are and what they have accomplished in the last ten years is unbelievably impressive.
  4. Final Score Grace Academy 74 Clarkrange 42
  5. What I stated earlier came from your own words. You had previously said you played with Cosby at Murfreesboro in ??
  6. Please don??™t take the comments of gomocs1 as those coming from anyone associated with Grace Academy. Obviously there are those individuals who like to stir the pot. If I??™m not mistaken, I think gomocs1 went to Cosby in east Tennessee and is attending college locally. Through the years he has apparently become a fan of Chattanooga basketball. He has also doled out his fair share of comments (thanks) but has equally played the role of instigator.
  7. Although the score doesn??™t reflect it, I thought that was probably one of the better South Pitt. teams in recent years. I think they will make some noise come playoff time. I would like to see South Pitt. and CSAS play, It should be a closer game than most would think.
  8. If you are talking about the Golden Eagle Classic at GBA in Chattanooga... Friday, 1/2/9 3:30 - Soddy Daisy vs. South Pittsburg Girls 5:00 - Soddy Daisy vs. South Pittsburg Boys 6:30 - Upperman vs. Grace Girls 8:00 - Upperman vs. Grace Boys Saturday, 1/3/9 3:30 - Soddy Daisy vs. Upperman Girls 5:00 - Soddy Daisy vs. Upperman Boys 6:30 - South Pitt. vs. Grace Girls 8:00 - South Pitt. vs. Grace Boys
  9. I believe above was the first cut at the brackets, the one we have in hand is below; I'm not sure on all the times but Grace boys play at 5:30 and the girls play CSAS at 7:00. Boys games. CSAS vs. Howard McCallie vs. Ridgeland McMinn Central vs. Ooltewah Grace vs. Baylor
  10. Best of Prep's Boys Bracket CSAS vs. Howard McCallie vs. Ridgeland McMinn Central vs. Ooltewah Grace vs. Baylor Not sure about the Golden Eagle Classic
  11. Refresh my memory, but did we determine last year that the user GBA_Athletics was not associated to Grace but from somewhere else trying to stir up trouble.
  12. Grace won both games. The first one by 30+, I'm not sure by how much on the second.
  13. It??™s not inappropriate but accurate. I have worked every home game for the last 6 years and SP fans have proven themselves over and over. I agree you have a faithful base of many who do not make comments but I guess because of the size of your crowd you have a higher percentage of the folks that should not be saying what they are saying. My intent was not to incite others or bash, I was hoping that maybe after reading my comments that some of the fans next week would refrain from name calling and cussing the other team but instead encourage their kids. Maybe then after the game the opposing teams??™ crowd would walk away going, Wow that was a good football team instead of wow can you believe their fans. SP has a tradition rich strong football program with an excellent coach but your crowd is taking away from that success by their actions.
  14. Pretty good game closer than most expected. With respect to Blake, overall he was probably the best player on the field. If you disagree that??™s okay ask your coach. A couple of times he mentioned that he should receive the Class A Mr. Football award. I have a lot of respect for Coach Vic. He obviously knows the game, but he has always handled himself well. As far as that goes I thought the players showed some class as well as respect for each other. However, with respect to your crowd, well they are consistent. They are with out a doubt the rudest and most belligerent fan base around. Encouraging your kids is one thing but when you cuss and berate players on the other team you make it to personal. The part I don??™t understand is as good as your team is all the out of line comments are not needed. It might make sense if you were frustrated from losing, not okay by any means, but understandable. I do appreciate the couple of staff members that apologized for the crowd??™s behavior. Also hats off to your band for sticking around so late to perform, they sounded very good for such a small band.
  15. Congratulations to Temple. They are doing the same thing that CSAS did last year, peak at the right time. To accomplish what they have in the last week, in upsetting Grace in the district and now CSAS in the region, you??™ve got to give credit where it is due. I actually think this provides a stronger sub-state pairing. Anyway, now that Grace is out, good luck to both teams, and I hope you make it back to the finals.
  16. No, he did not play against Whitwell. Should be a good game Tuesday, both teams are at full strength. The second time Grace played CSAS they were without Hampton. The first time they played Shaughnessy was still injured. That early in the season Grace had not learned how to share the ball. They still have their moments but have played much better team ball in the latter part of the season.
  17. Silverdale deserves credit. They were a much better ball team than the first time these two met. They now have some guys who are able to shoot outside and they out worked Grace. Grace, as talented as they are, continually proves that if you don??™t play as a team the game is up for grabs. Grace is having trouble with the fundamental things, like following your shot (which no one does), boxing out, or just plain working hard. I hope they figure it out soon, because they have the talent to go deep into the year.
  18. Mr. Herman is a very talented young man, but until he learns to pass the ball he won't be a complete player. He has a bright future and hopefully when he becomes a team player his stock will only go up. Grace is a good team but could be much better if that were to change. As far as the game, very physical, alot of turnovers on both teams. I to did not think it would be that close.
  19. Grace won by 29. I think the final was 69-40. Grace played much better than they have previously. They passed the ball well and actually practiced a zone for awhile. Silverdale seemed out of sync., they have some good players and are more than capable of playing a better game. It's early, I hope to see them rebound by the next game.
  20. Both teams are returning most everyone from last year. Grace has won this match up 5 out of the last 6 times, but CSAS won the last one. Both teams are talented, should be a close one. Grace may be down one starter, not sure yet. You may want to get there early it will be a full gym.
  21. Shaughnessy has improved a lot over the last couple of years. He works very hard. He got hurt in the first quarter of the PC game and will be out for a while. Not sure how long, hopefully only a couple of weeks. I think the final was 53-50.
  22. R3VOLU71ON, if you had read the coaches lips then you would obviously know that he said nothing to warrant 1 let alone 2 technical fouls. You should not get on here and imply that he said something otherwise. If you would like a transcript to get your story straight I could provide you one. The officiating was bad, as usual, but it had no impact on the game. PC proved what hustle and playing like a team can do. They were under sized and of the two teams less talented, but the fourth quarter was a basketball clinic. They were disciplined, well coached and fundamentally sound. They will be around come playoff time.
  23. Congratulations on making the playoffs. Two years in a row for a four year program. Good luck to South Pitt., Lookout Valley and Silverdale on your play off games.
  24. They probably have about 9 kids on the football team going out for basketball, several of whom are varsity players, with two possible starters in that mix. I don??™t think the impact will be on talent as much as chemistry. It will definitely add more depth. I thought both teams faired well against the rest, but I think Red Bank, McMinn Central and Baylor were all missing starters due to football.
