  1. Go Tigers! Skin the Bobcats! Didn't think there was anything in Greenbrier 'cept chickenhouses.
  2. Pitiful----Pass from Grace, drop,.....drop.....when you're 1 yd. away WHY THROW THE BALL?? think MCHS needs different game plan and run the ball every now and then. The offense is SO predictable. SAD! DO YOU KNOW ANY OTHER PLAYS??
  3. Jackets win! Run faster-before you hear the banjo music!
  4. Back to the upcoming game-any changes of location?
  5. I understand that its SC Homecoming. Where will the game be played? SC field is down in a hole. Used to be full of potholes. Uneven surface & parking is not easy.
  6. Lafayette needs to block. Shockley showed strength in the 3rd and 4th quarter, then they quit throwing to him. Hey, I say you dance with the one who brung you. Who's wise coaching move was that? Smith Co. should know all the plays because the coaches are Smith Co. Leftovers. MCJHS is 5-0 and MCHS is 0-4. What happens when the student go to the high school when the coaching philosophies are supposely on the same page? Us old folks would like an explanation.
  7. Not looking good-learn to tackle and practice blocking. Basic Pee-Wee Football fundamentals. Eight year-olds can do better than I've seen.
  8. IMO --Work on running game, Coach G. One question that has puzzled me for a long while is why is our junior high playing fairly well and then they get to high school and it kinda fizzles out?? I heard an older man and former Tiger say, "...guess the boys get to smelling perfume and gasoline." Maybe they just ain't hungry enough for the taste of a victory. Any opinions welcomed.
  9. ".......and then depression set in." I've been watching Tiger ball for over 40 years now and I can tell you its sad when RBS has a better win record in football than MCHS. How does 2nd & inches turn into 4th & 24? "Hurry up " offense ain't working. IMO the only time you should use that play is when you're behind, 2 minutes to go and you're going for the tie or win. How bout running the ball? Don't you guys know any other plays because the "shotgun" ain't hitting the target. HURRY UP offense = 0 - 10 record for the Tigers.
  10. Are the injured Jackets able to play next Sat.?? Watched them @ Laf and some were not dressed out.
  11. WAY 2 GO DAWGS!!!! A well-deserved, long awaited victory!! You 've got the ball, run with it!
  12. After watching MC, it may be a long season. Until they can execute on the 4th down, no score for MCHS. Could be the QB or the coaching. It's going to be a long season unless they can switch it up some and improve on the running game and stop depending on the pass. In the past the better conditioned teams have lasted through the 4th quarter when it seems The Tigers "wore out" after the half. Defense should get aggressive and make the blocks. It takes teamwork to achieve a victory. Get it together Tigers! The Jackets are a speedy young bunch!!
  13. Looking forward to football season! I look for the Jackets to come out fast, strong, and take the lead early. Then they will toy with the Tigers like a cat would play with a mouse until the end of the 4th quarter and final go in for the kill. Or they will let the underclassmen get some playing time. Sorry MCHS, I predict the Jackets win handily.
  14. I have watched White kick since his "pee wee" days and the East-West did not showcase his talent. Prehaps it was the place holder or maybe he just had a bad day. Who's perfect anyway? College provides a different playing field. Best of luck to these young men!
  15. Best of luck to RBS! Heard the Grace kid from Lafayette may transfer to RBS. Is this a rumor?
  16. Best of Luck to the Jackets! Before you load the bus to head to the 'Boro, rub the ole bronze plaque of Jim B and play the best ball of your lives! These days will never pass this way again! Go get 'em from an old Ridgerunner!
  17. You guys can crunch numbers, look at polls, survey, etc...but the final numbers will be on the scoreboard tonight.? Both teams have had an exceptional season-? Don't let your team down-just play the best 4 quarters of ball of your lives.? This opportunity will never pass this way again.? ENJOY!!!? Got to go with the River Rats on this one.? GO JACKETS!!!! Question:? Will there be enough people left in Hartsville to put out a fire?? I know several who are planning on making the trip.? For those of us who are unable to attend, I'll say a prayer for everyone's safety and give' em all you got.? Creasy may have to go to the "Satterfield Football Archives"? for this game.?
  18. O man Can't hardly wait for Fri night Turkey Day tomorrow and Yellow Jacket football Fri night it don't get any better than that.As Mr. Jim B. Satterfield used to say" boys if you are playing after thanksgiving you've had a mighty good year" Congrats to The Jackets and The Indians for a good season too bad it has to end for someone Fri.I love High School Football better than college ,or Pro. Simply because the boys put all their heart and soul into every game.Good luck to both teams Fri night. But I have to pull for my old alma mater GO JACKETS!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Hope all have a safe, well-played game. I'm rooting for the Jackets, but they'll have to play some perfect ball, because Oneida is a force to be reconed with. Is there any way I could hear the game live on the radio or via the Internet?
  20. That would be a shame if we didn't play each other. TC and MCHS have been playing since the 40's or even before. Such a rivalry would be a shame to lose. Got kinfolk both places. I have lost nothing in Smith Co. though once I lost a good fishing lure at Cordell Hull Dam.
  21. It is sad to lose such a fine rivalry as TCHS Vs. SCHS! All joking aside, the game will be missed by both sides! The gate was good for both schools and us older folks will miss out on the trip up and down Hwy 25.
  22. If Smith Co. wants to act like that, let 'em take their ball and go home to their momma! Boo-hoo! Cry me a river!
  23. As history has shown us, the road to the State Playoffs goes through Trousdale County. Win or lose, the Jackets are a tough team. Small in numbers, but a gutsy crew. Summons up that "Creekbank Magic". Go Fight Win!
  24. The Owls better not mess with Sasquatch - ie County. He! He! The only positive thing for Smith Co. is its on their home field. Watch out for that "Homecookin". They might make it tonight, but there's a severe weather warning out for the Smith Co. area- Tornado Warning on the radar coming from the East Tennessee area.
