  1. Those sophomores did play a lot in that game, but the Station Camp football players were actually four days out of football at the time and did play in the game. Jenkins is an unbelievable player and is having an unbelievable season, but there's no need to make it sound like more than it actually is.
  2. Jenkins has been double teamed at times already, but I seriously doubt that Jenkins has been triple teamed much so far this season. Maybe you are misinterpreting teams quickly looking to help if Jenkins beats a defender, running another defender (or two) at him if Jenkins gets free from the initial defender. However, that is not triple teaming him. Triple teaming him would have Jenkins guarded by three men and the other two defenders guarding four Station Camp guys. Who knows...that may happen at some point. But Jenkins hasn't been triple teamed in every game. Also, I seriously doubt that some kid from Jackson County shut him down in overtime in their loss. Maybe Jenkins missed shots in OT. Maybe the kid did played tough defense in OT. Maybe Jenkins did not score in overtime. I'll buy any/all of that, but I'm doubting that some single A kid from Jackson County just shut Jenkins down in overtime.
  3. read in wednesday's news examiner that jenkins was supposed to play in this weekend's tournament
  4. I'm guessing it's white house vs. clay county with the winner to play white house-heritage in the semis and trousdale county vs. macon county with the winner playing westmoreland.
  5. Tasha Phillips is the best player on Clarkrange's team. She makes everybody around her better and does the dirty work (rebounds well, plays defense and gets her teammates involved). When she was a freshman, she was a one-dimensional post player. Now, she can step out and shoot the perimeter jumper. She can catch at the elbow and take that power dribble to the basket (left or right) for a layup and she can work in the post. She's not the type of player that's going to score 30 per night, but she's the best player on the CR team. Reed is a great shooter who can't dribble. Lowe is a good ball-handler who can't shoot. Green is a solid shooter who plays good defense, but she can't dribble and her contributions are often minimal on offense (doesn't score unless left open from the three line). Snow is just a big post player. Heady is very good (and makes an already great team the elite team in Class A), but Phillips is why CR, as a team, should win the state. Jim Brown won't get blown out by CR though. He'll make it a game. He's too good. Good luck to all.
  6. What has been wrong with Sleeper? Is she battling some type of injury?
  7. what were the circumstances? had he been sick or did he have a heart attack or something? prayers from northern middle tn
  8. Has Seymour ever reached the state tournament?
  9. CCS was not the same level of a team it was last year, at least not on Saturday. CCS is undoubtedly a great program, but they looked unsure of themselves at times and vulnerable (possibly due to inexperience). I'm not sure if CCS is inexperienced or not, but some of those girls looked and seemed to play "young" at times. CCS held its own though. Both teams had a few opportunities before Station Camp scored about 15 minutes into the second half. No offense to the young lady, but I wasn't real impressed by the CCS starting keeper. She didn't play a high ball that hit in the box well on that first goal, with the Station Camp girl really having an empty net to score as a result. SC was a little more skilled up top. The match was more even than the 3-0 score indicated though. It seemed as if CCS began to press after Station Camp scored that first goal. In regard to the Station Camp defenders, they may be talented, but they did some sloppy things at times that they managed to get away with. A shutout of CCS speaks for itself though. Best of luck to Station Camp in Chattanooga.
  10. It's a blind draw. There are no seedings. It's not college football. Seeding teams like that leaves subjectivity and meaningless rankings too much in play.
  11. how many scrimmages do the bisons have left? who are they playing and when?
  12. Missouri, Give me an e-mail address, and I'll get you the information you're looking for on the NABF.
  13. Did Trousdale beat Westmoreland on Tuesday? Score?
  14. Can anybody list the complete 4-AA All-Tournament Team and which Sells was named to the team for LA?
  15. Which Sells from LA was named to the all-tournament team?
  16. How exactly are you making that assessment?
  17. My question is have you seen camp play? If not, don't pass judgement on who the better "team" is. Camp has a 6-4 post who can shoot the mid-range and goes hard to the basket off the dribble. He's a major matchup problem, when he stays out of foul trouble that is. They have a very good defender that will look eye-to-eye with Dunn (neither is blessed with big stature, but both are extremely quick). A couple of kids have really come along as the season has gone along, the point guard and the shooting guard. The shooting guard hit six threes in Monday's championship game. They also have a couple of forwards who play their roles well, play tough defensively and rebound. And Jenkins isn't a normal player. He's not a 20-point per game scorer. He's pumping in 30 a night on average. As long as he takes good shots, he's incredibly tough to defend. Teams have attempted to guard him with two guys recently. I'm by no means a camp fan, but I've seen them play three or four times. Livingston has had a great year, but I can't see them beating Camp. Good luck to all though. Both teams have to win one before they get a shot at each other.
  18. LA should play in the semifinals. Good luck to them there. They will need it. I'll talk to you next Tuesday devilfanatic. You may end up being correct, but I doubt it. Station Camp losing in the district championship game was a disastrous result for LA. You'll see soon enough. Good luck to all.
  19. Not going to happen. Semifinals and gone. Good luck though.
  20. There's not miles of difference in these two districts as it has been in the past. However, I do expect Upperman and York to be in the region final, but I would not be stunned to see Station Camp upset York. Upperman is playing well. I don't see them losing in the region. Station Camp should beat Cannon, assuming that SC beats WH. White House will have a tough time defending LA due to its lack of size. WH will have to shoot well to win it. Roberson is tough though and is playing quite well in the postseason. DCA will scheme York well. DCA will have to control tempo to have a shot to beat York. York is balanced and shoots it so well. Upperman will destroy Greenbrier. Good luck to all.

Did Ashton Gentry not play or just not score? Who is Mackenzie Painter?
  23. How many teams from the Middle/East Region move on to the state? Do you have to win that quarterfinal game and make it to the semifinals to have a chance for a state spot?
  24. You sound like somebody who has never overachieved but always done exactly as well as you should have based on your physical/mental attributes. Some programs overachieve. Jackson County did just that by getting to the state last year with a team that relied heavily on two guards - Maxwell and Dyer - who were still developing into the players they currently are. Brown gets the max out of his players, and sometimes, they overachieve. Jackson wasn't the second best team in that region last year, but they were sitting in the state...again. Getting more out of players than it seemed that they had in them is the trademark of a good coach. It takes a lot of hard work, persistence and believing in kids. To me, RBS was the most talented team in that region last year. They didn't go. Good luck to all.
