Polk wins championship over Mcminn Central. Polk host East Hamilton and MC travels to Red Bank Monday

Polk beat Sweetwater tonight 11-5 and Mcminn Central beat Meigs 2 -1. Sweetwater plays at Central tomorrow to see who advances.

Is the game today at Sweetwater?

Is in not a good thing to run an offense that gives you the best opportunity to win? Yes the fouls were lopsided but Polk ran zone the entire game and did not foul. Most of Uppermans fouls were in the 4th quarter while trying to catch up, with tired guards from chasing the four corners.

MR. BSLeague Polk County DOES NOT charge for parking at any football game and this DOES include playoff games. If you don't believe me try it.

We paid $5 to park at Cleveland High School last year when they hosted the Regional Tournament for AAA. Everyone knows that it is a DONATION. Every school charges money to park to help offset their athletic costs and that is why the tournament rotates location. It benefits all schools that way. East Hamilton has NO BASEBALL FIELD, NO FOOTBALL FIELD, NO TRACK, NO TENNIS COURTS, NO SOFTBALL FIELD. Hamilton County does not pay for athletic facilities. The only reason they have a gym is because it is considered a class room. For them to ask for $3 dollars to park is NOT out of the question. As far as the gate charge, that is totally determined by the TSSAA and NOT East Hamilton. Instead of complaining on this site, feel fortunate that you are not going through what the parents and players are going through right now at East Hamilton. They are all having to pay a larger price than anyone else to try and raise enough money so the kids at that school don't have to travel all over town to try and find a field to play other schools. Go ahead.. if it makes you feel like a BETTER PERSON because you don't want to donate $3 to help out high school and middle school kids in need, then keep your money. I am sure they would rather not have it. You are misinformed come to POLK COUNTY we have never charged to park at ANY athletic event! We have found other ways to raise money to support our programs. We did not have athletic fields at our new school(opened in 2003) we played football at the middle school till 2006. We never had an on campus baseball or softball field. Baseball built one with fund raisers in 2007 and softball played their first games on their new field last year!So you don't have to fleece fans I was upset about paying the parking fee last night and was told when I protested "I'm sorry" as he took the money!

I hope someone is willing to explain how they meesed up the brackets the first time. I find it hard to believe that they (TSSAA) worked on these brackets at all after last nights games. Should have had some check systems in place to review before posted. This is meesed up hope someone is man enough to attempt to explain!

Alcoa is a powerhouse...no question. I do remember two years ago at Murfreesboro, several Alcoa fans watched our game and stated that they were glad we were in 1A because we would be a better opponent that what they would face. That was two years ago and this team plays a whole different offense. I believe SP could play with any one in the Chattanooga area...not beat them all....but play with them. I have not seen Alcoa play this year, but after dismantling Maryville early this year, I don't have any clue if we would even be able to stay on the field with them. If you can accept the truth, I can give you the answer. Alcoa could spot South Pitt 27 points at halftime, then come back in the second half and beat them. Yes, they are that good. We will never know, will we??? If and I mean IF the Pirates had played well the whole game, this one could have been a 3 or 4 td win. I would say if we had gotten Polk Co down by 3 or 4 tds, they would not have come back like our boys did.

Polk played well in both halves, but SP played well also. For those of you that said SP just didn't play well in the first half don't forget POLk had a lot to do with that. Hit them very hard, OUT RAN them and had Sp was talking to themselves. The second half: remember POLK had 2 touchdowns called back in the second half which by count would be 46 or 48 (depending on pats). Yes SP make some good haltime adjustments but Polk would have scored 4 each half if not for the "flags". I overheard several SP fans after the game comment that they hadn't been hit that hard in a long time. If memory serves me turnovers were even, POlk had more penalities. So to sum this up NO EXCUSES , dry field included. SP should ban powerp from ever posting on this board again, as he supplies way to much bulliten board material.

I've read all 23 pages of this thread and this one is fairly typical. I for one am glad its game day, glad it appears the rain will be minimual, glad to see this thread ending. Out of the 23 pages there has been only (including myself) 4 or 5 posts from true Polk fans. It has primarily been SP fans ensuring that each other they know how good their team is, which they don't need they are plenty good enough. Here's to a injury free game, I hope both teams play well so there will be no complaining.

Reading all this crap sickens me! Be proud of YOUR team and let the kids play. Each team has a great coach and staff, each has great community support, each has good players, and unfortunitely each has fans that has nothing better to do than bash each others players, schedule, coaches, etc. So having got that off my chest GO POLK! I see hopefully and injury free well played game, that will be hard fought till the end.

I don't agree entirely with the poll either, but how could you rank McMinn Central ahead of Polk County when Polk beat them 49 to 12?

This will be a big test for Polk, the must continue to get better each week. They must forget the emotional game last week and perform at the same high level.

there you are yeehaw! where have you been? why didn't you run your mouth this year?! i said this would be a good close game between two good football teams...I WAS WRONG!!! not saying central is a bad team, but polk is a very good team...better than i thought! number 12 plays hard, but he is no brett favre like some have called him....number 30, heck all of em play extremely hard! i would say central came ready to play tonight...up until 35...or 40....or 42...or 41 seconds left in the first half! after that they just fell apart right in front of us..... come on polk fans i'm eating my crowe...admit yall got a lot of help at the end of the first half with the clock and the refs! although central were the ones that let polk score...not the refs...but still!!! that was awful! it was meigs co all over again!!! mcminn central has a whole lot of getting better to do. and another thing...what is the deal with the players not knowing when they are supposed to be on the field? it seemed like every other play there was a player running on the field late! come on! got to be better prepared than that! will polk lose again? I agree the ref kinda messed that up, there was 40.8 seconds when the play started but they didn't stop the clock after the first down catch by #10. There was several seconds ran off, the probably should have been 32 or so, but I don't think that one play would equal 37 points.

Waiting to hear from a few folks that are sitting on the fence for the last couple of spots - some schools don't have their district schedules set for next year yet.... Do you have the Warrior Classic finalized? I have seen it on our schedule for this coming season.
