  1. I would and could agree with most of your post, except for the comment about the RHS not calling their best game, I did'nt see any pervious games of RHS, but, from what I saw, and those sitting around me, we thought the RHS coaches called a great game, almost perfect game. As far as the numbers of players, you have to remember that football is not the "ONLY" sport at OAK Ridge anymore. alot of kids focus on one sport and thats it. (Baseball, Basketball, Track, and Soccer) Also the population of Oak Ridge is about 33,000, but, I would say at least 50 to 60% of that is retired folks, the student population at Oak Ridge is not what it used to be.
  2. Oak Ridge all time football record: 545-142-11 .787% DB all time record: 682-203-28 .762% Brentwood Academy all time record: 368-77-3 .821% DB has played 215 more games than OR, and 465 more games than BA. OR has played 250 more games than BA. .025% seperate OR and DB, .034% seperate OR and BA. .06 seperate DB and BA. Ole Dad, I know this does'nt answer your question concerning DBs record since OR started playing, but its the best info I could get.
  3. Sorry to disappoint you but I did graduate from Oak Ridge, and college, math and science were my best subjects, I assume you read my post to Nick Orlando, I stated in it that english was not my best subject and without spell check I would be lost, I thought my post was clear, and was done tongue in cheek, no offense was intended toward the poster, I still feel that someone should not use the name of another "real" person, Coach Orlando or not, just my opinion,. I don' take anything posted on here as life or death, nor do I expect anyone to do the same with my post. Just people sharing thoughts, nothing else. Maybe I could send you my future post, so that you could proof read them for me. I know Mrs. Lenihan (english teacher I had at Oak Ridge) would appreciate it. As far as not being "very smart" your, you are, you uns, (however you state that) are probably not the first nor last person to accuse me of that. DISCLAIMER: The post you have just read, is full of misspellings and improper english, you have been warned!! I think the poster who goes by FESTUS, has the right idea, I understand every word he posts.

  5. I must admit my first reaction was don't even bother with a reply to this post, but, as I've sat here and chuckled everytime I have read it, my lack of judgement, has persuaded me to respond. Nick, I'm sorry, but as long as you are determined to use Nick Orlando as your screen name, you have alienated just about everyone who knew the man, regardless of your point of view. I don't think you should use someone else's real name, unless that is your name, and since coach has passed, that seems unlikely. Also if you are going to start your post calling people "PATHETIC", proof read your post before you post, or edit after, if your going to call someone a name "retard" get it right, not wetard!! Don't take this as harsh crticism, just some advise, I know without spellcheck I would be lost, and still post with errors in my grammer, english was not my favorite subject.

    Question?

BIG DAWG, They vote for All-State selections the weekend of the championship games, they should be announced sometime soon, then you have the AP All-State selection, don't know when they publish those.
  7. OK, your critical point of view of the coaches and their performance.
  8. Its not called "hiding", its called respect for the coaches, players, and parents, after a tough loss. Its easy to sit back and be critical of the team and coaches after a loss, and it would be easy for anyone to point out the flaws in the coaching or players performance, (myself included), but what does that accomplish, you posted how you felt about the coaching performance, move on, no need to attack other posters and keep harping about the coaches in more posts. It was a tough loss to swallow, your bashing of the program just makes it harder. While some of the things you have posted may be true, playing a top quality team, like Ravenwood can make you "stink up the place" as YOU put it!
  9. Its OK to be biased toward your hometown teams, maybe even expected, but you lose some credibility when you post the number 3 team as ALCOA, sorry but Maryville proved that the best 2A team could'nt compete with the top 4A team, much less the top 5 5A teams.
  10. I encourage everyone to read the post from The Judge- Best 4 Years of my Life, in the 1A-2A-3A Football thread, this is an awsome post! Dear The Judge, While you may not ever dress out for another football game again, the memories you have will never tarnish or go away. Let me tell you from first hand experience, that the same joy you have encountered from playing high school football, will again be felt once your children start playing ball, or cheerleading, or playing in the band, or are just fans of a team, and if not through your children, I would encourage to coach a youth league team. You may not think it will compare to your joy and excitment of playing high school ball, but don't be surprised if does! I never thought I would be as passionate about HS football again, until my two sons starting playing middle school and high school football, my memories were refeshed from days gone by, and now I have all new memories to enjoy. Good Luck in your adventures that your young life has before you, and enjoy them as much as you've enjoyed your high school years!!

  12. Everybody???? Yea right, we knew Ravenwood was a good team, you don't back into the title game in 5-A football.
  13. Walking out of the game saturday night was tough for us Oak Ridgers, but to a person, everyone made the same comments, Ravenwood is well coached and were better prepared for the game, this is NOT a knock on the Oak Ridge coaches or team, they played with heart and left nothing on the field, Ravenwood was an worthy opponent, and deserving champion!
  14. Ravenwood coaches had a great game plan, and the players executed it to near perfection. Congrats to the coaches, players, and fans, it was a well deserved victory!!
  15. Bud, Your wasting your time trying to discuss football with Brandon100, he thinks of himself as an "expert", and gives out compliments like there blessings from the Pope. He will criticize any program, and take credit after the fact (once a game has been played) then boast of his credibilty on this site. You can reply with stats, records, anything that is fact, and he will find a way to discredit you, all the while Brentwood Academy is sitting home, like they have about the last 10 YEARS, and boast they are the giants of high school football in Tennessee. I don't mind a difference in opionions, but when your sole purpose is to stir the pot, so to speak, and criticize other football programs, what enjoyment comes from that. Take heart in the fact DB was, is and will always be regarded as power house in high school football in Tennessee.
  16. Congrats to Ravenwood, they played a great game from the first snap till the last, they are deserving champions! The game was played by two outstanding ballclubs, who played with heart and class! Great Season Wildcats! Congrats Ravenwood!
  17. Talk about the Braves choking?? Your clueless, they made the playoffs in a year No One expected them to, and the Cards as you stated " end up with the best record in the majors, and two years in a row loss the World Series, now, thats choking!!
  18. This was a great game, Ravenwood played as close to a perfect game one could, they deserve the Title, OR and Ravenwoods game in MY OPINION was the best state title game this year, two great teams slugging it out!! Congrats to the Ravenwood players, parents, students, and fans!! Both teams played with heart and class. Thats what high school football is about. I will reply to Brandon100 this one last time, your post are classless and taint the Coach T site, you post just to get a rise in other people, and anyone who gets enjoyment from that, needs help. Great Season Wildcats!! Congrats Ravenwood!!
  19. 50s and 60s? what about 1975, 1979, 1980, 1991, and possibly 2005, you still have'nt answered my question, who do YOU think is a dynasty?? If you say BA, and your all about Gold Balls (state championships), we have 8 of them in our trophy case, how many does BA have? TSSAA has you at 9, and OR at 8, and playing for a ninth tommorow. I don't see in the numbers where you could think that BA has a more dominate history than OR, when you've played your 700th game we'll talk. When was BA last championship won, or for that matter, when was the last time you played for one? I think the last one was in 1996, almost 10 years ago!!!
  20. My only question would be, WHO DO you think is a dynasty in Tennessee High School Football? Webster's define a dynasty as " a powerful group that maintains its position for a considerable time". Where does OR fail in this definition? 5 different decades with a championship, the best winning percentage in the state in the playoffs since they were started (56-21 .727%), 8 state titles, and playing for another one tommorow. 1940s 35-25 1950s 85-10 1960s 71-26 1970s 91-21 1980s 94-23 1990s 107-23 2000s 63-14 All this playing in the largest classification in Tennessee, who has numbers that can match this? I think my post showed that BA, DB, and OR are as close as possible in winning percentages, and thats with OR and DB playing a combined total of 715 more games than BA!!! This and my other post may still not change your opinion, thats OK, but I've posted hard numbers, (facts), maybe we have a different take on what a dynasty is, I don't know, but as I stated, I'll put this numbers up against anybody elses. I'm intersted in hearing from anyone else, maybe i'm a bit biased.
  21. I'm not sure about DB, but since you asked, these are the teams that beat OR in the playoffs, painfully here goes: 1973 Chatt Baylor, who went on to win the state 1975 OR won the state 1977 Chatt Baylor 1979 OR won state 1980 OR won state 1982 Jeff Co 1983 Farragut 1984 Jeff Co 1985 Heritage 1987 Jeff Co, who went on to win the state 1988 Murf. Oakland 1989 Murf. Oakland 1990 Lincoln Co, who went on to win the state 1991 OR won the state 1993 Murf. Riverdale 1994 Murf. Riverdale who went on to win the state 1995 Riverdale 1996 Jeff Co 1997 DB 1998 DB 1999 Sevier Co. who went on to win the state 2000 DB 2002 DB 2003 Riverdale 2004 Riverdale who went on to win the state

  23. No one at Oak Ridge thinks that past history is going to win a ballgame on Saturday night, Ravenwood getting to the title game in such a short time, shows everyone in Oak Ridge and the rest of the state, that they are a good football team, and one not to be taken lightly, No amount of history or print (posts) can change that, looking forward to a good game, Win or Lose, both of these teams have proven themselves. Roll Wildcats Roll!!
