  1. My reply was to the comment that OS had not faced a running back of the same caliber as Kingstons, I know the kid from Kingston is good, I was just pointing out that OS had indeed faced a couple of quality running backs, As for the comment about being a top running back in ET, that is reference to there classification, ie.. single A, double AA, triple AAA, etc.. You mentioned one runningback that plays in another classification, OS will not face Spencer, I'll take it for granted that you have never seen either one of the two backs I mentioned or Lynn Haynes from OS even play a down of football this year, I hope this does'nt cause another 3 peat response from you. As, for Dustin Lindsay, he is a Div I football player, we just have'nt had the chance to face him yet. And if you'll read my original post the comment was one of the best in ET, not THE BEST!!!!!
  2. The runningbacks of Scott Co (leading rusher in ET), and Brandon Davis from Coalfield are two of the best in East Tenn, if not the entire state. Should be a good game, whoever limits the number of turnovers and penaltys should come out on top.
  3. Not everything in my post was directed at you, I felt that bballtn thought you may have crossed the line and I was simply trying to show that you indeed were funnin with them, but when your reply to me was Why?, i figured you must have been serious, by the way, you have in fact picked OS to win, but you also included in that same breath, that future games will turn out bad for OS, I have disagreed with you about things, but I've also been very positve about the Yellowjackets as a team, as individuals, and even the coaching staff, whereas you have nothing but negative feed backs on ALMOST everything thats not a yellowjacket. Just by the tone of your post, I can venture a guess you would be a good candidate for anger management courses. I have'not posted on this site or anyother for that matter before the last couple of weeks, I'm starting to feel like I've made a mistake, No, not because everyone doesn't see things my way, but the HATRED tone that goes with some of THESE post.
  4. Lets get a few things straight!!! If you don't like whats being posted skip that reply and move on, but don't tell anyone what they can or cannot post unless it crosses the boundries that CoachT has in place, CYJacket, I was never mad, in fact kinda enjoyed our debate about football, I promise if a post upsets me, I don't give the effort of a response, this forum is for entertainment and lively debates about football, nothing more or less, I take just about everything with a grain of salt, If you have to ask WHY? to my response about kidding with bballtn, then I am trully disapointed, I think political correctness has gone haywired in the US, and maybe you were'nt emplying anything with your comment, but somethings you just don't say to a lady or with a certain intent. To me that was a personnel remark, I thought it was done tounge in cheek , but appartenly it was'nt, and I just posted the News Sent, facts because you've got three kids (OS, Coalfield, Rockwood) doing good, i don't understand people that look at everything negativly, these are fine young men playing football, bottom line. There I'll get off my soapbox, and wait for a berrage of negative comments that I deserve. As for the stats in the paper, If you look at the list of schools not reporting, they USUALLY are not in the direct area or they are not having a good year, As usual I post something in a positive light for area players and you and CYJacket turn it into something negative, and CYjacket, there is no such thing as DA question, just DA people, you don't get along with anyone do you? The more post I read by you, the more I'm thankful your a yellowjacket and not bobcat or anything else for that matter, treat your fellow mankind with a little more respect!!
  5. bballmom, Thanks for the invite, if I can get down there early enough, I'll give you a shout, any feature to look out for? CYJacket I hope you were just funnin with bballtn in your comment.
  6. Notes of interest: In Knoxville Paper this morning, Lynn Haynes is second in rushing yards behind the kid from Scott Co, Rockwood also had a running back in the top 10-15, and Coalfields Brandon Davis is in the top ten. I guess being second in rushing yards in East Tennessee proves CYJackets point about OS team "not doing anything extremely well". CYJacket no malice intended, just some good ole fashion ribbing!!
  7. Maybe your not aware of the trash talking that many Coalfield fans were guilty of PRIOR to this game, never did they mention that they had sick kids, hurt QB, bad refs, did'nt have the ball possesion long enough, players having to play both ways, QB has to be a QB and a Wide out, etc... Then when they are beat soundly, you bring these points up as an excuse for defeat, and No I'm not trying to get you to change your statement or mind, just defending my opionion about an quote made out of what seems to be hatred of another football team or town, Look at any post I've posted and i've stated nothing but facts or stats about your team, and in no way made a mean negative statement about them, just the ooposite actually. Respond if you want , to me its a dead issue. Coalfield is a good team and should be succesful the remainder of the year. OS 35 Coalfield 12 "Nugh Said"
  8. This could be debated forever, My response to you was about your statement that OS did "not doing anything extremely well" not a debate about our Running back and who you think are or have been good runners, thats just an opionion, but the stats he has put up so far are fact, and the offensive line was on the field just as long as your defensive line, which I gave credit to, but they were man handled in the second half by a offensive line that plays extremely well. Our offense must being doing something well, in order to keep your offense off the field for so long, you failed to address the kicking game or the fact that your team was beat soundly by a team that you think doesn't do anything extremely well, except to mention that your QB was hurt, thats part of HS football, your right about the upcoming schedule, but I still say that the first 3 games were against good teams, yours included. The debate was not about upcoming games, don't hate the bobcats and make excuses for your team and there defeats, the YELLOWJACKETS deserve better!!
  9. As I stated, I agreed with most of what you said, But to say, and I quote "not doing anything extremely well" seems like a statement made from sour grapes more than fact, OS has a running back who as I stated has ran for over 150 yards or more in three straight games, you have to have an above average offensive line to accomplish this against 3 good opponents, a solid kicking game, most kickoffs are reaching the end zone, and all PATs made in three high scoring games, The defensive unit held one of the best backs in the area to under 40 yards in the Coalfield game, and if you take away the 80 yard run by Scott Co back he would have had about 100 yrds, not bad for another of the states top running backs. If OS does not do anything extremely well, how does that reflect on your Yellowjacket team that was beat by 23 points. I will also agree that the first half was a dogfight from both sides, but the second half belonged to the cats.
  10. Most of the OS fans know Brandon, and know he is a super kid!!
  11. My point was that Scott Co fans trashed talked on the CoachT post all week, and if you were at the game, you know it was not as close as the score would lead you to believe, Scott Co scored on a long run from scrimmage late and did roll up some yards against a prevent defense, I'm not taking anything away from the Scott Co kids, they played a good hard football game, and they seemed to be well coached, but if you remember, OS killed the clock at the end of the game, when they could have scored again. Also to the point was that the OS running back had more yards rushing than the Scott Co All American, we keep hearing about, if your going to talk smack, you better be able to back it up!! And from what I've seen from the post on this site, its more of the same.
  12. Don't get me wrong, Brandon is a special player, the type of kid you could put at any position and he would suceed, not only has he got good speed, but he's quick to react, and see's the whole field well.
  13. I agree with most of what you stated, except that they don't do one thing well, Running back Lynn Haynes has rushed for over 150 yards in 3 straight games, and even a 200+ yard game, in the Coalfield game, OS took posession of the ball with about 2.5 minutes remaining in the third Qrt, they marched downfield 80+ yards and consumed almost 13 minutes off the clock, for the last TD. I say that to make this point, the offensive line and defensive line do well.
  14. In 1978 OR Wildcats had six players named as All-State, one of them was Carl Foster, he wasn't the biggest kid, but was mean and would hit you so hard, you would think about quitting football, in practice, you made sure you knew where Carl was, no one wanted to be hit by him.
  15. A-E, if you look at the post the week proir to the Scott vs. OS game, all we heard about was Scott whipping OS and how there running back was going to set rushing records etc... OS running back had more yards than Scotts, Scott did have a talented crew at the Wide outs, but had a hard time moving the ball, should be a good game!!!
  16. No offense, but trash talking about OS being hit in the mouth, after a lopsided lost to Kingston, seems to be a bit of a stretch, OS plays hard nose football, I'm sure Rockwood will be pumped up for this game, but if you think OS will be coming to your Homecoming!! and not be ready to play, you know nothing about this team, that suffered through an 1-9 season last year, there hungry for a victory every week.
  17. Just wondering, what is Rockwoods strength on offense? do they throw the ball, or are they a ground attack team?
  18. I don't think I can agree with you about the Oliver Springs win at Coalfield, granted this was not a region game, but these schools are seperated by about 5 miles of roadway. The post on CoachT were somewhat tame compared to the trash talking I heard fom some Coalfield fans for two months before this game. They knew OS had a down year last year and were over confident that they would not only beat OS, but badly. Coalfield has a good team and both teams showed a lot of class and sportsmanship during the game. Good Luck Yellowjackets the rest of the Year!!!!
  19. OS by 14 Devils97, you need a change in your writers staff, your material is old and dated
  20. Coalfield will need for other players to step it up, football is a team sport, but as seen in the OS game, if you stop Brandon Davis, you stop the yellowjackets. Coalfield showed a lot of guts from the defensive line, but got worn down late in the game, I don't suspect Midway to be as physical, Coalfields defense should keep them in this game. Coalfield 23 Midway 21 smilie
  21. OS Brent Kelly threw for two touchdowns, TB Haynes had over 150 rushing, OS held Coalfields Brandon Davis under 50 yrds rushing. Good defense, Justice twins, Brian Rather, and John Hooks had a big game on defense, as did Jesse Gough.
  22. I've read other post concerning teams of interest of mine, and not one of them has shown the class of messages from both schools like this one. This is what high school footballs all about, good games, good fans, and respect for each other. ROLL CATS ROLL!!!!!!
