  1. What if the World Series was like that? 1 game...
  2. What time is the final game? Tssaa site has little useful info. Wish there was TV
  3. lasr yer wwe lost a Wildcat stadium blnket in the parking lot. someone pulled my leg and said they found it.(nope, didn't happen) If you have it, this year we'd like it back. This should be a tighter game than in 2014! Go Cats! I am also looking for Farragut to go down.
  4. OR now has new visitor seating...very roomy and sturdy. The shakes are gone! Did anyone answer about the DB visitor seating? My last memory from a few years ago was all swaying with the crowd? My balance is not as fine tuned as it once was. looking to the game!
  5. I got the impression GQ does pretty well at adapting to the play of the opposition. Raptors also were well coached..I pray he can keep his health and kick off the extra weight and live a little longer..no dig, just health. and that is the sort of competition needed in the finals. Coach, that is tougher than any football game. Best Wishes. Amazing how calm both coaches "appeared" during such an exciting game! I won't armchair quarterback the going for 2...it was not my call to make. I once knew a coach who lost a few games that way then blamed the players for not executing...can't do that here and not on a low percentage play...Maryville D executed perfectly on that pass.
  6. I would have kicked and gone to OT2...but I am not the coach. Great play by Maryville d on jumping in for the interception..and blocked FG. Great game. Tension and excitement. That'a all folks...tis the season...over and out. Knox and Blount Counties smile today.West, Fulton, Maryville..not a bad way to end it for 2014!
  7. I will try to put up a link..my blog, go there and email about the blanket please. This could get me out of a very cold dog house! If you are pulling my leg, I fell for it all the way..that's how cold the dog house is on ther brain. Try the "contact" here: http://landingheroncatsphotoschrist.blogspot.com/ Strange name but you might like the pictures. Email me and we will work out getting postage to you and small reward(not working now, unfortunately) or send cod (does that still exist?) I would love to be at this game tonight but stuff is going on.
  8. Off topic but...walking to the stadium from parking across from Big Ed's last Friday, I must have let my wife's Titans blanket fall 'tween there and the gate. That lot was 90% Rhea County folks. Anybody happen to find a Titans blanket? We would love to have it back if it was found. I had good conversations with the Rhea crowd after the game...just as friendly a group of fans as we remember from years ago going down there with a full crowd of Wildcats. I like to keep wins in our area but since Rhea stopped our comeback and won...I am pulling for Rhea over West. I expect them to fill the stadium like they did at Oak Ridge..
  9. Thanks for heads up on cable coverage... No predicitions from me..they both look too good in defense and running their game smoothly and tight.
  10. Annnd...should someone pass the ball, Rhea has a good pass rush and secondary is tight. Passing by West(if any) must be right on as I see it.Rhea can break a long run when mostly unexpected and it is fast. Is this one on the tube anywhere on comcast? The Rhea stadium is a fun one for an important game and the home crowd should be huge.
  11. WHERE TO PARK Google Maps for Jakson Plaza, use earth view to see the field, higher up, and parking all around the Jaxckson Plaza Bldg. More parking to left of that across street. Parking at the field is full quuickly. We will be there..excited now! Have a safe drive up and enjoy the game.
  12. Anybody got a place to see stats on last nights game? OR vs Cleveland?
  13. Oak Ridge ws hurt by turnovers and lackluster offense last night...now on Cleveland's last 4 downs, OR D did exactly what they needed to do. I remember several drives down to Rhea and pretty good games and enjoyed it...I don't remember them being this strong, according to what is being said. We will be yelling for OR...this coming Friday should see more umph in the O than last night.
  14. Where Soddy had a disadvantage in the kicking game, OR was not full strength in theirs. Generally, this season, OR kickoffs hit the endzone and no returns. Several fell a yard short last night. The SD offense did impress me. I have to go look at their regular season games now to figure out a few things.
  15. SD was much more effective with the run than I expected, just to point that out. The game had some tense moments when it seemed either team could grab the momentum. OR vs Clinton was 44-21, or close to that from memory. Clinton lost tonight by 3 points. Numbers say OR should win but I know better than to go in over confident against a team OR has not played, moreso during playoffs.
  16. Stadium to remember: Gibbs, East Hamilton. Gibbs is treacherous for anyone without perfect balance and last year E. Hamilton stands held maybe 35 fans on visitors side? The Ship is getting there. Love it.
  17. Being at home is very good. We have been to SD many times and that is generally good but nothing like being at home for the playoffs.
  18. I did a few soccer shots earlier in the fall using a Nikon D200. I am not always happy with preset controls like "sports", "landscape" and others and that particular DSLR does not have such settings. My lens was a 100-300 Sigma f/4 with no image stabilization and I shot using a monopod. What did I discover? Focus on a moving target was the biggest problem and not movement in getting good shots. When there is enough sunlight(we sure can't control that), I use ISO400 and something around f/8 and get shutter speeds from 1/1000 to 1/2000 sec or so, fast enough to stop most movement. I open the aperture as needed in lower light. I take the advice of zooming out a bit and tracking action slowly as I can. That makes a difference in the field of view and overall control. Focus was the primary fault in my soccer trials, even using continuous focus which in itself does a good job but if you are not on target forget it working well. When tracking a player, some folks tend to jerk or stop just as the push the shutter. With practice and enough field of view to work it, you can keep the movement going smooth and on target as the shutter is pushed. I am no expert and those active kids gave me a run for it. Keep hoping for lots of sunlight! Best wishes with your photos. TomDart.
  19. I wish the very best and quick healing for Mr. Woodruff, the Warriors quarterback. That is a tough one right now. With or without, I predict 41 - 7, Maryville. This Riverdale team has not shown me the offensive power needed and will be no match for Maryville's offense. They will need to keep the ball out of Rebel hands all night. I gotta believe this but hope it is a closer game for the excitement of it. Does anyone know if the game is on tv?
  20. I am sorry the Warriors quarterback will be out. I watched Oak Ridge play Maryville earlier this year and the Wildcats quarterback was out...OR lost 31-6, same margin as with the Riverdale game at 35-10. Of course everyone who knows OR football knows the Wildcats played below their ability against the Warriors...but that is why the game is played and holding it to the end is the stuff of champions. No excuses..just turnovers. Yikes! I truly hope for a really good game come Friday. Unfortunately, having watched the Rebels and the Warriors, I believe the hype is only hype and be grateful for coaches who don't roll it on when they have the game won. Riverdale and Maryville both have that sort of class but it is the Rebels who will be playing the bench into the third quarter. I hope for a closer game but just do not see it happening. A safe drive wished to Riverdale and fans...and a dry night wished for the game. The crowd will be huge! God Bless and Peace to All. Dart, long time OR fan.
  21. I will pull for Henry County this Friday. You see, I have a lot of respect for the coach there, since he once coached my high school team. Class Act! After that, I have to go with the local school in championships. Go for it HC!
  22. As for Bearden, I am thrilled to see them going to this game. I remember years ago when they looked like slugs, well very slow. This is not the case now. They really have a class act. We will wait and see and I hope that net connection mentioned several pages previous works. I will try it for sure
  23. To All: In 1991, all my relatives in Middle TN said not to even show up for the championship game...Gallatin was just too, too tough. The folks in Winchester had a different view: They knew both teams and said the championship game would be no prob for OR. Sure, those who react right after a game sometimes say things they over react in saying. In that case, many years ago, they were correct. This year, we don't have a common demonimator like Winchester. Still, in '91, OR did NOT go into the game at Vandy with big heads. They will not go to MTSU with big heads and I am sure Ravenwood will not go in with big heads. Both teams have ???? about the other and only the game will tell the answer. I cannot say much about Ravenwood since I have not seen them play! And, even with that, I have not seen their opponents quality. This holds true pretty much both ways. That is why I am going to the game. It is settled there! Fair enough? I do hope for both teams the weather is good even if rain is predicted. I don't want a game to go to "luck" when two fine teams are fighting for the win. Sure, a fumble here or there...a stripped ball, an interception...that is football but I don't want the weather to put a bit of bad or good fortune in the game. Let the kids play it out fairly. BTW...how is the turf at MTSU? Is this a decent surface? May the best team win by skill and ability. Go Wildcats! Dart.
