  1. In my opinion, it's Angela. It will be interesting to see this continue on the collegiate level.
  2. William Blount beat Heritage tonight
  3. I guess I can buy that... Thanks! I'll be sure and keep you guys updated.
  4. I'll have to tell him that tonight! Actually, I hope I get my athletic ability from outside of the family tree, it'd be an awfully large task to find a long branch on that.
  5. Yep, you are correct with that quote! The after-school workouts start for us next Wednesday. Haha, it wasn't quite as late as you
  6. I can taste August already, guys! The meeting for new players is tomorrow...!
  7. I'd say that Sevier County, Dobyns Bennett, and Maryville would say that WB isn't skeer'd of anyone....
  8. Alcoa must have A LOT coming back to be up in 4A/5A
  9. I believe that I heard that her 43 last season was the Blount County record... so this would take over the top spot. I'm not positive, however.
  10. That would be Sarah Walker, #20. She's doing very well this year, and is great at getting in there and making things happen. I look for her to make a huge impact in the coming years. You are correct, William Blount only dressed seven last night. We have had terrible luck with the injury bug this year, and have four players out.
  11. William Blount beat Alcoa tonight... Next week is when the real fun starts, though!
  12. William Blount beat Austin-East tonight... I'm not sure of the final. I believe it was 69-64, but don't hold me to it.
  13. William Blount lost tonight to Austin-East, 69-59. Does anyone have an update on Jessica Houser's injury? I hope she is doing well, prayers for a speedy recovery.
  14. The bulk of the District games are just around the corner, and this is the time when the race starts to heat up. What does everyone think so far? Predictions for the rest of the season? Also post scores and such from the games in this thread too. I think that there has been two major surprises so far this season... the first is a positive surprise, with South Doyle leading the District. I didn't expect to see the Cherokees at the top of the standings now. The second is Farragut, but not in a good way. The Lady Ads are tied for 6th in the District with a 1-4 record... coming off of a Sub-State appearance, I'm not sure what has gone wrong. I do think that South Doyle will fade somewhat down the stretch, and that Maryville or Heritage will capture the regular-season title.
  15. Almost time for the District race to really start heating up!
  16. Keep us updated on the scores today..definately some interesting match-ups. I'm looking foward to seeing how Maryville can compete against Shelbyville
  17. Would we get an automatic BCS bid then? I was hoping you'd tell me that the Boise State switch wasn't true... let's ALL hope that it's inaccurate info.
  18. Thanks!! I suppose it's true then... that's basically the same thing I heard. I believe that it may be a new uniform rule by the TSSAA, since the Virginia scheme isn't the official school colors? One thing I've heard is that we're going to the Boise State scheme for next year... I certainly hope that's not true.
  19. GovMan- I've been hearing rumors of a uniform change for next year, any truth to this?
  20. Hate to see that WB lost... how did Asheville look?
  21. I agree about Farragut winning the District in the regular season... but anything can happen in the tournament. If I had to say now, I'd predict Maryville to win, and Bearden to finish second. You can never tell which teams will get hot when, ex. Maryville last year
  22. Congrats to all Region 2 players, especially to WB's Kase Whitehead, Darran Walker, and T.J. Walker!
  23. ETSU President Paul Stanton announced the plans for the return of Buc Football in 2010 today... http://www.etsubucs.com/release.asp?RELEASE_ID=9316 As you said, the conference will be a problem. I think the SoCon still has some sour grapes from before... do you think all Buc Sports will return to the SoCon, or just football? Or any, for that matter. I hope it doesn't end up being a split-conference deal, where football plays in one conference, and all the other sports would play in the A-Sun. The ideal situation would be to return to the SoCon with all sports, in my opinion.
  24. Thanks! #32 is Angela Puleo, one of the best PG's in the state. She's headed to Georgia next year. #24 is Leah Kelley, a junior. She is a great player, and always has the ability to take over a game by draining key shots. One of the best shooters in the area. Keep us updated!
