  1. Since I work with so many guys from Hartsville, I normally save my trash talk for TC only; but I will make an exception for this game. After watching our team practice, grow, and play better over the course of the year, I believe that Friendship CAN beat SM Friday night. Signal can talk all the want about the MERCY rule being put in effect nine out of ten games....but in the end the only team they didn't MERCY rule is the only real team they played, SP. Before someone from SM comments about our weak schedule..."I KNOW." Now, I didn't say that we WOULD beat SM; I said we COULD....that the outcome lies with the players and coaches. Hopefully our coach will not cost us another victory (ie. TC). As for all the TC fans on here talking it up and supporting us...WHY? When have TC fans EVER cared about us at Friendship? Just the other night your fans and PLAYERS were at our game mocking and trash talking the players and FANS during the game. I think I know why you are so willing to root for us....your SCARED that you might actually have to play SM; your SCARED that that pretty little record might me in jeopardy if you do have play SM. So thanks, but no thanks for your support! Go Commanders!!
  2. I hate to defend TC, but to say that they had anything to do with the multiplier going into effect is preposterous. This is the dumbest argument I have heard against TC, and it has been going on since they moved back to 1A. Give it a rest!!
  3. Predictions: If Watertown wins FC vs. 4th seed = FC wins easily Gville vs. LV = Gville wins easily H20 vs. SP = SP wins easily TC vs. Temple = TC wins then FC vs. SP = FC wins Gville vs. TC = TC wins then FC vs. TC = FC Predictions: If Monterey wins FC vs 4th seed = FC wins easily TC vs LV = TC wins easily Gville vs SP = Gville wins Monterey vs. Temple = Temple then FC vs Gville = FC TC vs Temple = TC *Again just my opinions.... then TC vs. FC = FC
  4. FC comes out fast. Too much speed for TC to compete with this year. The secondary of TC is too vulnerable to stop the passing game and big plays FC is capable of making! FC - 28 TC - 14
  5. TC 21 Wartertown 14 By the way.....Friendship will keep on rolling!!!!
  6. Friendship 35 Davidson Academy 14
  7. From the way TC played in the jamboree against Westmoreland....they are in for a long night Friday. Atleast Macon Co. gave effort against a bigger, stronger, faster Wilson Central team; I didn't see much of that from TC the other night!!
  8. This will be one of Trousdale's 4 losses this regular season. Macon Smith Gordonsville Friendship The talent pool has been drained in Trousdale for a while. I just don't see TC being able to compete with these other schools on their schedule.
  9. I am from Friendship and even I am sick of hearing about this!! TC is good, but they can be beaten. This is the year for FCS!!
  10. Section 8 of the TSSAA Handbook addresses this situation. As long as the student is enrolled in the school--high school--they can play as an eighth grader.
  11. Trousdale County Here is a portion of the article from the newspaper in Johnson City: "For Hampton, the inability to move the football on the ground slowed the Bulldogs’ offense to a grinding halt. Running back Adam Townsend had a hard time finding room on the outside and fullback Jonathon Potter didn’t have much luck running inside." Not to mention TC had 410 total yards of offense...300 of which was rushing. Don't feel too bad; they did the same to us last year too.
  12. What? I am a FCS fan but to say that we should have knocked them off last year. The playoff game was only close of the scoreboard. We had two LUCKY plays that allowed us to score. They ran the ball on us all night...look at the numbers! Now that being said, TC was great last year, and they can compete this year. They don't have some of the key ingredients to make a championship run. FCS does!! So yes, TC will continue to dominate the game of football; they just might not win a ring every year. TC goes 12-2 this year! Both losses coming from FCS!!
  13. Rickaway was NOT an eighth grader last year. He will be a junior this coming season. Friendship did have a #22 that played some last year, and he was in the eighth grade.
  14. This sounds so familiar...oh yeah! Last year there was this team called Hampton that walked around thumping their chest in the offseason saying how they were ready and going to run the ball down everyone's throat. Sounds very familiar to this situation. I will also bet that the same result will happen. Some team somewhere will SHUT YOU up!!
  15. From the size and strength of the Gville team at the weightlifting contest....I don't know if Smith Co. can even handle Gville this year.
  16. Jeremy Rickaway from Friendship....If you don't know....you will soon enough!!
  17. So let's hear about all the massive amount of weight that was lifted at this competition!! Who won? Who lifted what?
  18. Alcoa did lose their coach, but come one....when a team has talent like Alcoa....sometimes a coach just doesn't really matter. Also, it isn't like Alcoa hired some slacky newbie. They hired Riverdale's leading man. So I say things are looking pretty good for Alcoa next year.
  19. 1A: Friendship South Pitt Trousdale Gordonsville Coalfield 2A: Alcoa Milan Tyner East Robertson Carver 3A: Fulton Austin East Knox Catholic David Libscomb Crockett Co.
  20. This came off another message board about a proposed change to school athletics. Any thoughts about the effect on footall. "Please take a look at this Proposal Sport Calandar and pass it along to as many softball coaches as you can. There are changes the Legislative Council is looking at for the 2007-08. NOTHING has been voted on or passed! The Council wants to take a year to allow ALL schools to study it and give feedback. I just wanted our softball coaches to be aware of this and have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions." I personally want to thank Bernard for letting us know about the possible changes. He has been a great supporter of the MTSCA from day one. As I understand all of the schools should have a copy of this in their school. PROPOSED SPORTS CALENDAR CHANGES In looking at a review of the Sports Calendar the following general changes have been made. 1. Elimination of “open facilities concept 2. An attempt to create an overall better balance for student/athletes and their families and coaches and their families. 3. To attempt to be more specific in what is permitted and not permitted throughout the state. 4. Preseason practice time for all sports has been changed from 3-4 weeks to 5-6 weeks. No preseason scrimmages are permitted in the first two weeks. This allows more practice time when it is the most meaningful and allows coaches to have greater flexibility in preseason planning. 5. A limit has been placed on the number of preseason scrimmages permitted along with a definition of “preseason scrimmages.” 6. Decrease in number of regular season contests for all sports except football which has only 10 games. In looking at a review of the Sports Calendar the following specific changes to particular sport(s) has been made: 1. Spring sports (baseball, softball, track soccer)-Dead period in June and July has been removed and coaches may coach players on summer teams since baseball, softball and track are sports traditionally played in the summer. Soccer has been included for consistence since it is also a spring sport. 2. Ten days of off-season practice have been added for baseball, softball, girl’s soccer, boy’s soccer, and girl’s volleyball. 3. June and July (until July 15) practice has been removed for fall sports (football, girl’s soccer, girl’s volleyball, golf, cross country). This would eliminate camps in these sports in June/July but would permit them beginning July 15. It also eliminates 7 on 7 league or camps in football in June/July. 4. A defined period for baseball/softball in January for conditioning of arms has been set. MAJOR DEFINITION CHANGES Summer--Maximum of 15 days of practice permitted, 10 days of which may be competition against other teams. June/July--Basketball/wresting only. Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Soccer--June/July athletes may be on summer teams/club with coaches coaching. Dead period does not apply. Preseason Scrimmages--No admission charge; no team scores kept on scoreboards; no paid officials; no tournament format of any type.--Limit of four prior to first playing date of season. Fifty Percent Rule--(Applies to football, girls’ volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball.) Participation (includes practice) during the school year on a non-school team outside the school season by students that will play the following season on the same high school team is limited to 50 percent of the number of players required to play the game(i.e., three basketball, six soccer and football, five in baseball and softball, and three in volleyball). Note: In each sport, only the specified number of student’s participation on a non-school year may be placed on the same high school team roster the following season. Those students cannot be interchanged on the school roster. This rule does not apply to seniors who have completed their high school eligibility in that sport. (Example No. 1)--If four students play on the same non-school basketball team outside the season, only three of them would be eligible for the same high school basketball team the following basketball season.) (Example No. 2)--If seven students play on the same non-school soccer team outside the season, only six of them would be eligible for the same high school soccer team the following soccer season. 21. You want Defense...FCS has 5 shutouts this season. Only three teams have even scored. If you take away Ezell Harding, one of the better teams in 2A, FCS would have the best Defense in the state. Our front 4 will smash TC O-line. Wait and see.
  22. That's right...no more talk, this friday will tell the tale. I can't wait! FCS will prove all the critics wrong when they pull the "upset," is it really, this friday night. I don't consider a #3-4 ranked team an underdog. Should be a close one, but FCS comes out on top. TC will find out about Jeremy Rickaway and why he is the 4th leading scorerer in the state.
  23. It's finally here! Bring on the pain; bring on the noise! TC will be the place to be on friday night. No matter who wins this will be a great game. Everyone thinks TC will roll through this game but I have to disagree. FCS is not happy about being chosen to be homecoming queen....some respect they have for us. WE WILL NOT LAY DOWN FOR ANYONE!!! This aint Mt. Juliet Christian.
  24. I have never said anything bad about TC. I have even defended them with all of the "scared of the privates debate." I know TC works very hard!! But don't think for one moment that they are the only ones. FCS will not not lay down for anyone!! We have started our own tradition and will not let anyone just jump down a division or two a take it without a fight! The fight will be on next week. Can't wait.
