  1. So of the dozen or more teams in Region 4, which four teams do you think have the strongest chance of making it to the Sectionals that Region 3 will have to deal with? I know only 2 teams from Region 4 can move on to sectionals, but which 4 have the most chance of being there?
  2. After sectionals are all done, why not seed the 8 teams that go to state based on how they finished in the prior year state tournament. The first year might be off a little but then it could start making more sense. In other words your earn your seeding for the next year based on how you finish the current year, kind of like reigning champs. All the same teams obviously may not be at quarterfinals the next year, but if you are "returning" at least you get some type of "rank". Hey, work with this idea all you soccer guru's !!!!!!!! But of course, it won't happen . . . just wishful thinking.
  3. from looking at Eurosport, looks like address for some TACA years (2003,2004,2005,2006) can be found at : www.dbsoccer.org/AllState/GirlsAllStateA-AA2003.htm then 2004.htm, 2005.htm, 2006.htm and there are also the AAA and Div II lists, and some Boys Soccer lists the www.dbsoccer.org is the Dobyns-Bennett soccer site, and WOW they have alot of stats and info from way back for their teams www.taca.net doesn't have this info that I could find, but would seem the logical place to keep all the prior years records.
  4. Hey, I just want to make sure that you know that what I meant by "these stats are ok", I meant the idea of having stats in general is ok. I wasn't specifically refering to Morgan's (but she has great stats if you ask me). But I don't ever refer to one specific person/player, I'd rather keep it at the "team" level, because it takes a team effort.
  5. If you look at the headings at the top of the stats, the number 7 refers to number of games played, then it has her number of goals as 13. In general these stats are "ok", but really, unless you at least get a point average by dividing points by number of games, it doesn't really show the range of "point leaders", and as always, you have to understand the competition played to earn the "points" for it to really, really have much worth anyway. But congrats to all as they contribute to their high school soccer programs, and represent their team/high school.
  6. WOW !!!!!!!!!! You are so right. It was one beautiful, awesomely played soccer game. Congrats to all.
  7. Notre Dame now 6-1-1 Note for Big Games on 9/11 - It will be Baylor AT Notre Dame Thanks.
  8. timbdp posted in the "tournament" forum topic a schedule for the Hendersonville Classic which has ND playing Hendersonville at 8pm on Sunday, Sept. 2 ??????????
  9. CAK and Knoxville Catholic are actually D1 A/AA. CAK was the 2006 Division 1 A/AA champions.
  10. Way to go Express !!!!!!!!!!! Much good luck in the finals. How did Express U17 do in the semi's?
  11. I would have to agree, that Richard siegel Park in Murfreesboro is wonderful, and they have that center stadium for the Championship games. It would make the Girls State Tournament seem more "special", being at a site that was neutral for all teams, and I'm sure it would be a little more of a Tournament atmosphere, and I'm sure the media would have an easier time, and maybe a college coach or two would show up, with it being more convenient, and easier to get around. But being from Chatt. it sure is convenient and not too costly for the Chattanooga teams.
  12. A Chattanoogan.com article dated January 12, 2006 states "The TSSAA Board of Control voted Thursday morning to keep the girls state soccer tournament in Chattanooga for the next three years, beginning this fall." Also it states "Although the tournament has been held at Finley Stadium in the past, it will not be used the next three years." So I assume this means Fall 2006, 2007, 2008.
  13. If such a rule is passed in March?, when would it be effective. It would only be right to make it effective with the girls 2008 soccer season. Most tryouts and commitments to club teams for this year happened in June/July/August. To find out in March that you may be "penalized"/excluded from the upcoming school season (2007), because you signed with a team (last summer, 2006) that also included 6 other school teammates would not be right. If you wait to sign until November of any given year, how do they check eligibility if you officially haven't registered with TSSA yet? If this rule passes it seems like it would be a nightmare to administer, are they going to check player eligibility against TSSA files, what about all the surrounding states, GA, AL, KY, etc. (you can register/play in other states). What if you "guest play" on another team a few times? Does that count? What if you register with one team, but then change in the "open" January period? Will it all be based on which team you played on just prior to your high school tryouts? I think they should leave this alone. It, as said prior, seems like it will create more of a disadvantage for soccer programs, and a whole lot of confusion and paperwork for TSSAA.
  14. WOW, I saw that, 4TH place out of 185 boy a/aa runners, that doesn't seem silly at all. It seems like alot of training, effort, and commitment over the years to get there. And it has you as grade 10, wow they better look out. A sincere congratulations to you !!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I think they need to look into that also, children and students should have a discount. Maybe they just don't want the extra paperwork, # student tickets @ $$$, # adult tickets @ $$$. Even though you can buy tickets ahead of game time, they can just not allow admission to the event until you have the "right" ticket. This should apply to all sports (soccer, volleyball, etc.). They should at least try it one year to see if they end up with the same total admisssions income, but actually more students/chidren were able to attend.
  16. Hoping USJ can be competitive today and that officiating doesn't decide the game. Anything more than a 3 point difference in the final score really has to tell TSSAA that the bracket draw (decisions?) need to be re-worked for the future. CAK vs USJ, have a great FINAL game !!!
  17. But then wouldn't it be cool to see a ND vs Knox Catholic State Final for GIRLS SOCCER, just like the matchup last Friday in Murfreesboro, for VOLLEYBALL State Final. ?????????????
  18. One thing I can think of for how they may have recorded saves (which are more than shots taken minus the goals) is maybe if the keeper stopped a "corner kick" they counted it as part of the saves stats, and part of the corner kick stats, so maybe you can have the situation we are seeing. Nevertheless, some of those numbers are wrong, and it definitely seems to be inconsistent from match to match. Hey, you can say all that really matters is the final score and who moves on, but then I think the teams deserve to have professionally recorded stats if only to show the importance of the opportunity of playing in the State Championship games. Plus it helps with TSSAA creditability rating, I guess it's just a matter of principle, if you are going to do something give all effort to do it as "right" as possible. All those girls playing in State are sure doing that, and I send congrats to every team who made it this far, and to all the ones who almost did.
  19. Has anyone checked out the BOX SCORE stats TSSAA has posted on their website with the brackets? I was at the game, didn't keep count of everything, but things don't seem accurate, I do know ND definitely had more than 2 corner kicks. Congrats to both teams for all the skill, effort, and heart they showed in this match . . . you are all winners !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Notre Dame 3 Sweetwater 0 Region 3 A/AA Final GO IRISH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. The Region Final host is listed on the bracket for the Girls Soccer Region Tournament on the TSSAA website. It looks like this year it is the even numbered district winners (2, 4, 6, 8, etc.). I think they, TSSAA, alternate this each year. Note the disclaimer at the bottom of the bracket, seems if the even numbered district winner does not win their semi-final match, then the even numbered district runnerup will host the region final, if both even numbered districts lose their semi-final match, then the odd numbered district winner will host the region final. Where did you hear about a "coin toss" ????
  22. Lets go IRISH . . . . . Lets go IRISH . . . . . We are ND . . We are ND Cheering on the IRISH . . . give it all you got !!!!!!!!!!
  23. Just read on www.chattanoogan.com that A/AA State Soccer final was won by FRA. FRA 2, Knox Catholic 0. More details about this game at the website, under SPORTS.
  24. Add to that ND "tough schedule" Farragut, GPS, Father Ryan, Hutchinson, and in Chattanooga for that matter Ooltewah and Grace. Fan of the ND Irish, hope it happens!!
  25. I don't know of any live coverage either. You could check www.chattanoogan.com under Sports, then State Soccer Brackets. They were good last weekend in getting the Sectional scores posted quickly. They are great, and have covered this seasons girls high school soccer in a BIG way, and also our newspaper, Chattanooga Times Free Press does a great job too!!
