  1. The scoreboard shows Polk winning 9-7. Not 100% sure though....
  2. I rest my case... Not saying he isnt a VERY good coach, but when you have that kind of talent it helps. Most of the time he could just out-athlete people because he had better players.
  3. Can't tell you much about the team, but I can fill you in on the gym. If you want a seat, period, you better get there early. Visiting side only has like 4 rows. Most idiotic design I have ever seen for a gym. You will know what Im talking bout when you see it.
  4. Nice GUESS on the score. It's hard to win or even keep it close when you don't box ANYBODY out the whole 2nd half. You can't let a team as good as Central have 2, 3, 4 shots each time down the court. Congrats to Central. They played well and deserved it. As for the officials, I must say the last 2 weeks in the District and Region have actually not been that bad. They have let the teams play pretty physical. Of course then you get the hand check 45ft from the goal, don't quite get that. But, for the most part, not bad. I will say I have never saw that many elbows thrown in one game and none of them called. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Good luck to both teams. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Congrats to Central on the win. Made the plays in the 3rd qtr when it got close. Polk couldn't buy a bucket, plus forgot that you need to box out and it went downhill from there. Now the fun begins. Central's prize for winning the Region.... hosting Upperman, who was upset by Livingston Academy tonight by 2. Should be a very good game with 2 of the best teams in the state. Polk on the other hand, must make the long travel to Livingston. Both games should be very good. Good luck to Polk and Central and hopefully both can make it to the 'Boro.
  6. 89, you better watch out boy. You keep that attitude and you may get evicted from the Baby Blue Nation. That's ok, you can come sit with me and watch poor 'ol Polk and their overrated team /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Anyway, call me later if your goin up tonight. Maybe you can show me just who in the heck Im arguing with on here...lol
  7. Come on Canadian, give Polk at least a little credit. They do play good defense. BOTH teams do... Anyway... hopefully we have a good game tonight with no injuries and both teams can make it to the State. I expect a pretty good crowd tonight so if ya want a good seat, better get there early....
  8. Actually the year Polk won its State, 1981, they played 5-on-5. They also made regular visits to the State tournament from 1979-84. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was 20+ yrs ago. But.... they did win one. As for Coach Morgan, he is a very good coach. I think he is in his 29th year and has won over 700 games. His teams are always talented and well coached. If Polk can't win it this yr, I would hope that Central will. I hope Raider2 isn't one of those clowns starting crap on here again. I am a die hard Polk fan, but these idiots are clueless....
  9. Could you please you some form of grammar and punctuation? Geez... There is one coach that I know of that has more wins. Ronnie Davis, Polk County. Just went over the 900 win mark earlier this year. Not saying he's a better coach, just stating that he has more wins. As for Coach High, you can't argue his accomplishments. His record speaks for itself. But... look at the talent he has had over the years. Besides Howard and alot of the Memphis teams, nobody has had that kind of talent year after year. There's no doubt that he is a great coach though.
  10. I have always given Central their due. I have said many times that they should win it. They are deep and talented. As for the Meigs loss, I think last night showed that it was a fluke. That leaves 3 losses to Central and one loss to NW Whitfield, who I think is like 30-2 this yr. They have 2 6'4 post players, and won on a last second shot. Should be a good game though, and it would be great for them to meet again....
  11. Wore them out? If Im not mistaken, and Im not. The first game this yr @ Polk was 42-38 with Central winning. I dont think I would call that wearing them out. The second game was 19-20 pt game. Dont think Id call that wearing out either. Third game was 25. I guess you could call that. All it takes is ONE bad shooting night and anyone can be beat. If you dont think so, look all over this board at the teams that were upset last night. It can happen to anybody.
  12. A 5th meeting would be great!! What gives Polk some hope is that German was having an off night and they still dominated like they did. The rest of the team needed a game like that to show them that they could win without her having to do the majority of the scoring. Hopefully the defense is as good as it was last night by both teams. If so, it could be a close, low scoring game. Either way, I just hope both teams make it to the 'Boro and bring some hardware back to this side....
  13. Both teams looked good tonight. Polk started the game down 7-0, but finished the half on a 27-2 run. If Polk plays defense the way they did tonight, they have a chance to make a game of it. They just need to keep it close and not let Central go on any 8-10 pt runs. Looks like the upset bug was running around tonight. Marshall Co, Wilson Central, Oak Ridge, Cleveland all lost. Anythings possible....
  14. You would have to consider Jared Allen from Polk. Can pitch, catch, play infield or outfield. Good hitter with good power. I may be a little biased, but his numbers speak for themselves.
  15. Like I said, I was there, they were not destroyed. Polk played horrible, and according to a few Central folks, thats the best Central has played in a very long time. You cant miss that many wide open shots, free throws, and have that many turnovers and win. Especially against a team that is as deep and talented as Central. As for losing to an inferior team, didnt the same thing happen last yr to Central against Brainerd? They played horrible and got beat. It happens, no matter who you are or how good you are. I never said Polk would win. Central SHOULD win it all this yr. Whether they will or not is another story. Past history is not on their side. The team they had with Fallon Lee, Housely, and Patterson was one of the best teams I have seen and they just couldnt get over the hump. And just my opinion, that team is much better than this one. I, for one, hope if Polk doesnt win it, Central does......
  16. You may have watched for awhile, but destroyed, I wouldnt go that far. Losing by 20 tends to happen when you can't hit anything and have stupid turnovers. Granted Central had something to do with the turnovers, but Polk missing the wide open shots hurt them just as bad. I was @ the Central game too, so I do know what I'm talking about. As Ive said before, Central is one, if not the best, team in AA. As for you 89Charger, you know I cant call balls and strikes. Thats why Im the boss this year, had to get me off the field some how...l /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I'll cya Sat morning..
  17. You dont see it getting under 25? I guess you weren't @ Polk when they played earlier this yr and it was only 4 pts.... Guess by your age, you've been watching basketball wayyyy toooo long....

    Signees?

Ryan Casteel-- Bradley Central= Signed with Tennessee
  19. Central should win it all this yr. They are deep, experienced, can shoot and play great defense. They may play Polk 2 more times. Hopefully one of those times Polk can actually throw one in the ocean and make a game of it. If not, it will be another 15-20 pt loss.
  20. Ryan Casteel-- Bradley Central Signed with Tennessee
  21. I agree with part of your post. This was a terribly called game, just not one-sided like you say. Calls were terrible for both teams. Refs would let them beat each other to death inside, but would call touch fouls outside. Not saying that's what cost Polk the game, just that the calls were terrible. Central just outplayed Polk, period. Polk couldn't throw one in the ocean in the first quarter and that's where they lost the game. You can't fall behind a very good team 14-0, and expect to come back and win. Especially @ Central. They are very hard to beat there and always have been. Congrats to Central. They are VERY good and should win AA this yr, may even go undefeated. They play great defense and shoot the lights out. I look for Polk and Central to play at least 2 more times. If Polk can cut down on turnovers and not play so timid, they can give Central a good game. Would be great to see both teams in the 'Boro representing. Not likely to happen, but possible.
  22. Should be a good game. If I'm not mistaken, the last 2 games between these 2 have been decided by 5pts at Central and 4pts at Polk. Central is tough to beat @ home.
  23. Props to both Polk and Central if both these schedules hold up. Both schools should look @ Cleveland as a possible 10th game since both are playing Bradley and Walker Valley. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  24. Heck, l think we should just play Maryville or Alcoa for that last non-Region game...lol
  25. Dad's been known to have driven a few greens /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Especially @ good ol' Ridgewood. And now he get's to play from the white tee's which just isn't fair...lol He's not bad, he'll usually shoot mid to upper 70's. I can hit the golf ball as far, but after that, I get my money's worth. The more shots, the cheaper it is /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
