  1. So you are member of Megan Fox fan club and her outspoken views on middle America? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I would never thunk it...not in million years!
  2. What was Kiffin first strike to strike again or as related to this injuries?
  3. Yeah but with all the bicker between liberal news NBC, CBS, and CNN being snub over ABC by Obama should provide some interesting fireworks over the next few weeks. This may be the straw that broke the camel back...meaning Obama loyal support from these other liberal bias news could change for the worst. Obama is only complaining about Fox News which only helps Fox while it cast these other mind numb Obama koolaid drinkers. Obama wants his society to be controlled without dissension. If you've watched the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone (John Spartan), Obama (Dr. Cocteau) would like our society to be like that "Be Well! non-violent society without guns" movie with government controlling everything from life to living functions while dissension people live underground to avoid the wrath government control. Denis Leary (Edgar Friendly, underground leader quote): "You see, according to Dr. Cocteau's plan I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think; I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder - "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener". Tidbits: Many of the cars in the movie of 1993 were prototypes of future models, supplied by General Motors...now Government Motors. Maybe this is what Obama is ready to bring out as CEO&P of GM.
  4. Ravenwood @ 7-7...MTSU, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt Vandy is the best for competitive teams and will probably only bring on team instead of two because the second team got shafted last year on scheduling and didn't get to play as many competition games...no use wasting the money if the 2nd team is not getting it's allotment of games.
  5. Your are right about making the playoff is what it use to be and nothing to crow about. The positives outweigh the negatives for extending the team. THE POSITIVES: 1) Extra income is helping the schools in the playoffs 2) Extending the season surely doesn't hurt and football talk heats up, especially on CoachT which is good except for the obnoxious crowing...the non obnoxious crowing is OK and is acceptable part of football lord 3) TSSAA is making few extra dollars on 1/2 off gate receipts which helps other non-football TSSAA low revenue athletic events 4) It great playing football in the cooler weather of November with Hot Apple Cider, Hot Cocoa, and Coffee being served in the Concession stand and you get a chance to bundle up close to a love one. 5) Give the athletes better exposure for scholarship and by all means, players in Tennessee need all the exposure they can get to complete with the other states. 6) You never know which team may get hot toward the end of the season with possible upsets and making a run deep into the playoff's 7) School Spirit, pep rally's, tailgating, and the enthusiasm surrounding the playoffs 8) What better way to spend Friday evening in November...is there something more fun and exciting to do than Friday Night Light's? 9) Playoff experience...you cannot discount how it may help for a team building for the following year 10) The band usually don't march during the playoff's /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ...they are off and going to some type of band competition event. By this time, you've watched the same marching band on the field doing the same routine for ten games and you are sick of the same old routine. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> They should march out the smaller drum corps for each team and let them go head to head for some fun, non-scripted play. I could get a little excited seeing this...just a little...not much. THE NEGATIVES: 1) Risk of being knock off by a lower seed
  6. I guess not according to this article. I haven't been keeping score between Ahmadinejad and Obama but I believe this puts Ahmadinejad 1 to 0 over Obama. Obama says change is possible in Iran From the AP on Fri Jun 12, 4:31 pm ET
  7. Obama, here are your choices! 1) Load up some nukes and ship them to the local region. Point the nukes at North Korea while spinning stories about North Korea ultimate goal to blackmail China for not firing one of their nukes at China. While we are at it, do the Ronald Reagan...drop couple of MOAB's on Kim's residence. OR 2) Do what Bill Clinton did. Give them $4B, food, and oil with the promise not to build nukes (with the knowledge of words being stronger than action) Kind of makes you glad Bush II took out Sadden in Iraq...otherwise we would have Iraq, Iran, and North Korea to deal with as the axis of evil. One down...two to go.
  8. So what the IRS is telling me, they...themselves are using Cell Phone and 25% of the phone usage is for personal use. We need a law to write in the standards of conduct prohibiting the use of cell phones for personal use by Government employee's due to their own personal experience of abusing the system. All this does is add another administrative function to companies expense, complicate the tax code for filing taxes while adding more administration government IRS employees, and generally is a waste people time to prove/disapprove personal/business. Why 28% tax bracket...why not all apply? How about choice? Each business and government employee should be made to buy a personal phone if given the use of business phone or the right to deny the business phone and charge back business phone use on personal phone accounts at flat rate of $125/month or 40 cents per call (Of course you have to be at 28% tax bracket for it to apply. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />). The business gets to write it off as business expense. This would be similar to the business/personal vehicle allowance. This would give the employee the right to manage his own phone account/phone type with any service provider. Again...any changes to the current way of business on cell phone use puts extra burden to create administrative function jobs with business and government. It seems like a waste of money any way you look at it.
  9. Seems like a future phrase for Obama to use during his next travels on the Apology Tour III...can't have the finest...it must be on par with the rest of the world. Obama considers Apology Tour I & II to be major success and will only continue down this same path.
  10. It's the last sentence I'll remember while driving a vehicle around in the future. My 1970 GTO by Mike Adams, Monday, June 08, 2009 "In the summer of 1980, I was looking forward to turning 16 and getting a driver's license. All of my friends were looking forward to driving but none as much as me. My friends would be driving used Mazdas and Toyotas that got good gas mileage. But my dad bought me a 1970 GTO. He didn't care that it got nine miles to the gallon. It looked like it was going thirty miles an hour when it was just sitting in the driveway. Even though that old GTO was fast it had worn hydraulic lifters that were sucking away horsepower and badly wearing down the stock Pontiac cam shaft. Nonetheless, I put the pedal to the floor and burned rubber every chance I got - that is, as long as the Houston Police were nowhere in sight. One night on Highway Three I began to hear an unfamiliar sound just after I floored the accelerator. I didn't realize it at the time but I had merely dented the flywheel cover running over something in the road. But the sound it was making - coupled with the fact that it started just after I hit the accelerator - made me think I had spun a bearing on the crank shaft. So dad and I went into the garage and pulled out the motor. After it was secure on the engine lift we could see the source of the noise. And we knew we could just pull off the flywheel cover and hammer out the dent to fix the problem. But we also knew it would be so much more fun to rebuild the old motor. My dad must have figured that if I was going to finish at the bottom of my class academically I might as well have the fastest car among the 3300 students at Clear Lake High School. For weeks, after I got home from school - and my dad got home from work - we toiled away on that engine. First we started with the internal restoration. A Crane Blazer camshaft was the first high-performance extra installed. That went with new rings and bearings, new lifters, and a nice valve job - on 10-to-1 heads with 2.11-inch intake valves. Then we got to all the really unnecessary aftermarket items. A Holly double pump carburetor sat on a new Edelbrock manifold. Headmond headers ran just below the stock chrome valve covers. We topped it off with a small chrome air filter that allowed people to better see what we had beneath the hood (plus, you could hear it sucking in air from inside the passenger compartment). Finally, there were nice Thrush mufflers to let people know we were coming long before we got there. When we were done, my friend Jim Duke joked that he hoped his dad would hurry up and have a midlife crisis - so he could build him a hot rod, too. My buddy Terry Cohn said I had the coolest dad in town. Terry has always been wise beyond his years. That GTO had other benefits, too. The first time I asked Jane out on a date she said she'd go because she heard I had a cool car. When I picked her up she said "This is it?" She was disappointed that it wasn't much to look at. But after I laid waste to a few Corvettes and Trans Ams she changed her mind. Those nights in Houston were legendary. Like the time I buried the speedometer at 140 on Interstate 45 on the way to Galveston. Or the time I beat James Armand's 1970 Camaro in a race up Falcon Pass. That night, I took everyone's money on the Clear Lake High School soccer team. Those were the days. But my reign as the king of Falcon Pass would end in less than a year. Billy Peters had a cool dad, too. He bought him a 1967 Camaro with a 427 engine. Billy had all the extras put on that engine, too. And he topped it off with something I didn't have; namely, a 4.11 posi-traction rear axle. People always said that car would be the death of me. But, ironically, it saved my life - along with my buddy Wes Armour - in the summer of 1984. A fellow tried to end an argument using a 12-gauge shotgun in the parking lot of Burger King. We left the guy standing, literally, in a cloud of tire smoke. His Jeep wasn't going to catch up with that GTO. A few years later, cancer - under the vinyl top, in the trunk, and behind the wheel wells - would claim that old GTO. We would take the Holly and the Edelbrock and bolt it on top of the 400 engine in our mint condition 1973 Grand Am. But things were never the same. In 1971, Congress would put a halt to the golden era of great muscle cars in America. Emissions requirements would flood the market with low compression, two-barrel, single exhaust versions of the old cars we used to love. They were merely shadows of their former selves. Now President Obama is determining the compensation of GM employees. He's getting rid of board members at GM and replacing them with those of his choosing. He's preparing to impose new fuel economy requirements. He's even using the IRS to make people buy cars they really don't want. Congress started steering the auto industry in the wrong direction many years ago. This new president is merely pushing down the accelerator and keeping steady hold upon the wheel. Meanwhile, our memories of the glory days, like so many youthful dreams, are fading in the rear view mirror. " My glory days were around the early '70's at the Hwy 43 Drag Strip, Hwy 43 Gilliam's Stretch, and at the Hwy 43 Drive-In Theater, just north of the lawless town of Lawrenceburg (except you had to go to the Alabama border for adult beverages). '68 Camaro Z28 302ci rebuilt with 3/4 cam and oversize heads, '70 GTO Ram Air III 400ci, '74 Ranchero w/351ci Cleveland. I would like to salute the late TN State Trooper Paul Hedge for keeping an eye on me with his tricked out police cruiser. I'm sure he is somewhere up in the big sky writing tickets and chasing muscle cars. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. So what are you saying...It's your God given right to healthcare as long as someone else is paying for it? I don't hear of anyone being turned away from medical care now so what is your point besides wanting another socialist government system. I'm paying for my son's medical school. Maybe I should be sending you the government the cost of tuition, related expenses, and loss of income for the years spent becoming a doctor. The talk among the PreMed students now is to switch careers to Dentist, Vet, or some other type of career not tied to government socialist control. In the future you can go to the horse doctor to see the brightest of the Doctors. Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to be administrating by last in class hoodoo's doctor. Regardless, I still be paying for the doctor not dealing with government healthcare while paying for healthcare from taxes paid. It just like our educational system where you have the right to go to private school while paying for public school. The public educational system will be the model for the Obama healthcare. Which means paying additional taxes to the federal, state, and local government to finance the healthcare system of Obama. Maybe this is what Obama meant about paying for college so you will be working for the US Socialist Government...comrade.
  12. Here we go again. /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" /> It's the next task on Obama agenda after seeing how the wonderful people of France lives during his recent trip. BIG GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE. There is no stopping this trend unless Tennesseans living in the four TN districts of the US Representatives. The others are to foregone to the left while the others like in my district (Marsha Blackburn) will oppose such nonsense. There is no bigger issue on the table right now than to get this massive socialize medicine doctrine of Obama rejected. Call your neighbors, family members, family doctors, and nurses. Let it be known their voices needs to be heard by these Tennessee Representatives. Contact numbers are below...get to work on getting this issue turned down. These four Representatives will do and say anything to stay in office. If they know their long term career is at end, they will coward and oppose this Obama socialize medicine doctrine. Steve Cohen of Memphis was left off the list because he is so bent to the far left that Memphis will treat him like some conquering hero for the passage of the socialize medicine bill...then again, Memphis has a well known Hospital/Healthcare system that might make him think otherwise on its demised to socialistic medicine. "Posted blog by: Hugh Hewitt Friday, June 05, 2009 It is possible to stop the destruction of American medicine, but individual voters are going to have to get involved, led by doctors and other health care professionals who see what President Obama is pushing when it comes to health care. The Obama/Pelosi/Reid "government option" in their proposed radical restructuring of American medicine means a shift to a single payer-Canada style system of health care, which in turns means rationing and loss of the ability to pick your own doctors and plan your own treatments. This huge lurch left will be attempted in the next three months, and the passivity of the AMA, the hospitals, and the insurance companies has been astounding as the Beltway elites have concluded there is no way to defeat the large Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. In essence, the groups that should have been fighting with all their resources to preserve quality health care are negotiating terms of surrender. Or they were until recently when it began to become obvious even to the most Obama-dazzled that the president intends to do to American medicine what he has done to GM: Take it over. The means to that end is the so-called "government option," alone or in combination with various proposed "mandates." The only way to defeat the "government option" and the worst of the mandates is through the collection of the votes of moderate House Democrats who fear losing their seats in the 2010 election when the backlash against the president's huge expansion of government combines with disappointment over high unemployment to produce the traditional off-year gains for the party-out-of-power. Democrats in center-to-right leaning districts have to survive 2010 in order to get some redistricting help in 2012, but they know what history predicts. Moderate-to-conservative Democrats in the House are grouped in the so-called "Blue Dog Coalition." Below you will find all the contact information for each of the "Blue Dogs," in Tennessee. If you are serious about stopping the "government option" and blocking rationing and the ruin of the leading position of American medicine in the world, you will contact each of these Blue Dogs by phone and e-mail and fax, beginning with those in your state if there are any, and telling them that if they support the government option or burdensome mandates, you will contribute to their 2010 opponent and work to make sure everyone in their district knows that they voted to bring Canadian-style, single payer health care to the U.S. Doctors and health care professionals especially have to weigh in directly by phone and e-mail with these Blue Dogs, and to do so repeatedly. Call their D.C. offices, but also call their district offices. Be specific: If they vote for the "government option" or "mandates," you will work to defeat them. Hard. With cash to their opponents. I encourage you to send this link to your family, friends, and fellow workers, with a note encouraging them to get involved as well. Not even very loyal House Democrats will vote for the massive and radical overhaul of American medicine if they believe it will be an issue 18 months from now when they face the electorate which will lead to their defeat." 13. What...you've finally come out of self imposed exile from the '08 election on the Political board? You suppose to learn something everyday. I learn today that Sotomayor rulings have been overturned 60% of the time by the Supreme Court. She is going up to the big leagues batting 40%. I'm wondering now about her rulings that didn't get appealed up the highest court which could make the case of not being appointed. What is it about California? Why is does it seem lately all the political junkies are coming from either California or Illinois? What happen to the Southern influence on Washington?
  14. No doubt but if it does happen, what will Obama do? In his first (easy) case, he mess around with the Pirates four days until the Ship Captain and the Seal Commander took matter into their own hands. This one is much tougher with North Korea. Will he duck into some hole and stall for time until events take care of themselves? Will Obama and Pelosi listen to warnings from the CIA or claim afterwards the CIA is at fault for their failure to put the briefing on telepromter, thus stalling and not making a decision that may result into undesirable consequences? Scary times are ahead and it looks like these wild card countries will be pushing Obama around like floating rubber raft in a pool. This is like Jimmy Carter over again...not JFK, not FDR, and not Abraham Lincoln like the liberals wants you to believe. With Biden sentenced to visit some far off foreign countries for the duration of the Obama term, it up to Obama and Pelosi to call the shots. I don't know about you all feelings but I expect we are in deep do-do but on the bright side, it could have been worse. We could have been facing Saddam nuclear missiles as well but that one down, two to go. I know now why we haven't heard from Professor Nooney, he's up somewhere around Roan Mountain digging a cave dwelling...smart man.
  15. Congratulations to Summertown on the Class A Championship and the four seniors making the graduation ceremony the day before. These are such good stories of the Summertown team as read in the Tennessean & Columbia Daily Herald. These stories are what boys dreams about, becoming great memories for lifetime.
  16. I read it an agree with your assessment. However, you should have warned me not to go and read the attachment articles with comments in the NY Times. It seems to me whatever happens, Obama is setting himself up to blame Bush as GITMO becoming his cry as the reason terrorism exist and why we will be attacked in the future. It now seems as if a terrorist attack occurs in the US, the first words out of Obama mouth will be "Bush did it". Bush created GITMO which is causing terrorist attacks. The problem seems to be the liberals and the media are eating this up; hook, line, and sinker. It would seem the CIA will stand back, frustrated and demoralized by Obama attack upon them, and just let it happen. It will be as you say, I've told you so but you wouldn't listen.
  17. While you at it, send this one to Cowboy and your old bud ELA...it's one for the history books...not the revisionist ones. "The administration has found that it??™s easy to receive applause in Europe for closing Guantanamo. But it??™s tricky to come up with an alternative that will serve the interests of justice and America??™s national security. Keep in mind that these are hardened terrorists picked up overseas since 9/11. The ones that were considered lowrisk were released a long time ago. And among these, we learned yesterday, many were treated too leniently, because 1 in 7 cut a straight path back to their prior line of work and have conducted murderous attacks in the Middle East. I think the President will find, upon reflection, that to bring the worst of the worst terrorists inside the United States would be cause for great danger and regret in the years to come." - D.Cheney speech to AEI 5/21/09
  18. That was some interesting reading among other articles on the site about "When in a hole, stop digging"...in reference to Obama Gitmo policy.
  19. Nancy Pelosi needs to go on trial for Treason for what she has done to this country during her tenure while replacing Benedict Arnold as the name associated with Treason.
  20. This explains Pelosi thoughts...just confused...as always.
  21. ELA got a government job therefore he needs your tax money to stay in government business. He probably on some additional side job rewriting history as deem by Barry & Company. If ELA ever wants to move, he can get a job at GM (Government Motors), CitiGov, AIGGov, or work in community relations with Cuba, Iran, or Venezuela. The world is all good with ELA. Someone needs to tell ELA to quit making the boys run during practice to prevent going over the Carbon Cap credit limit established by Barry's old friend Al Gore. All that huffing and puffing by the team is generating too much CO2 Green House Gas. ELA is probably working on his CO2 CAP & TRADE plan for the team return in July. I wonder if ELA has been looking at the football field and wondering why the Bermuda grass is slow coming in this year and trying to decide if Global Climate Change had anything to do with it because the lack of Global Warming this spring.
  22. Since Bush was in charge, it looks like they did some reclassification. You would think the ACLU would jump into this but it must be the wrong classification of people to defend.
