  1. From a Franklin Student to KingZ, a Franklin student...too much. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  2. It seems to be a two-edge sword. Playing down will not strengthen a team for competition against better teams, meaning possible early exit from playoffs but if the goal is just making the playoff, it could be the difference of going and sitting at home.
  3. It didn't make Ravenwood year but it sure didn't hurt. Ravenwood seems to have tight toe to toe games with BA. It was our year unlike 2005 and 2006. Winning on MBA homecoming night would have made our year. A tail of future may be with the JV team at BA. Ravenwood solely uses only 9th and 10th graders on JV team. This year was BA was not even close into the game (42-15) unlike previous years. Previous BA JV teams have usually won. Ravenwood scrimmages Ensworth in the last scrimmage game leading up to the season and play MBA. From outside looking and and knowing the competition, the future don't look as bright as the talent stacked at Ensworth and MBA. I would be little concern but any coach can have a bad year of luck and Potter seen a lifetime of bad luck this year. I'm sure he will turn it around next year because he is too good of a coach and the assistants are some of the best. I say drop the subject and give it another year.
  4. These are the tidbits that I was talking about...feel better?
  5. Ravenwood is basic spread no huddle formation you had probably seen before with four or five wide set. Most notable on offense is #10 QB Williams - 6'4" junior, #23 RB Rowland - 5'8" junior, and good wideouts and the ball get spread around to #3 Fitpatrick -6'0" Junior, #23 Vicary - 5'11" Senior, #24 McPherson - 6"3" Senior, and #5 Sierra - 5'9" Senior. Very good line is anchor by LT #71 Massengale -6'7" Senior, LG #62 Pigg - 5'11" Senior, C #59 Schmitz - 6'3" Junior, RG #75 Duncan - 6'2" Senior, and RT #65 Judson - 6'8" Senior. None of these players will start on defense and rarely plays both ways while the varisty team dresses out 90 for a game.
  6. I've have no doubt about Hendersonville being an excellent team, you don't win region titles against good competition without be real good. Therefore, I cannot see how you can claim to be underdogs, especially since it is at Hendersonville. It just don't make sense for a Region champ to be playing a home game to be claim underdog role. Some posters really like to get on here, stir it up for their daily dose of excitement, and play make believe. It get annoying when you can get into decent discussion and fun tidbit leading up to the game. I read where Hendersonville tailgater like to set up around the main gate off Cherokee Road. I had Google the field. I can see the visitor stands are on Indian Lake Road side which is a straight shot off the bypass. It seems access and parking is not to bad. The visitors bleachers situated between the forty's but very tall. Is the bleachers metal or concrete seating like Smyrna?
  7. It would be nice if you would go on back to pulling for Independence because you have no skin in this game between Hendersonville and Ravenwood.
  8. I will not argue the point you made and he has been called worst names by others. He is actually a Franklin student operative who mission is to stir up trouble for all Williamson County teams playing against Franklin. In this case, his motive is to stir up Hendersonville with nonsense, thinking it will help Franklin cause next week. If Hendersonville wins this week, he will be stirring up trouble for you next week. If CoachT is listening, please delete KingZ from the board for his irresponsibly behavior of antagonist poster which is against board rules. Any seconds?
  9. The little I know, it seems Hendersonville runs the Wing-T to perfection with a passing game twist. QB Hall has been exceptional as the general on offense with his pitches and passes. Yazzie (should be consider one of top in the state) has blazing speed, gifted hands, and just burns the secondary up. The running game is explosive with the upfront blocking of a massive front line and fullback with the pitchouts and handoffs by the pitcher, error I mean QB Hall. It really makes the defensive stay on there toes, not over commit, stay a little conservative on attacking the ball carrier, and prevents aggressive blitzing schemes. In other words, patience is a virtue for the opposing defense.
  10. I'm not buying the "Oh Whoa Is Me" persona. Hendersonville is too good and well respected to be pulling the "Oh Whoa Is Me" antics. It just not fitting for you to belittle your own Hendersonville with this attitude when of all things Hendersonville is 1st place in Region 5, not #4. Don't tell me that you and others at Hendersonville didn't hold up the index finger toward the end of the game with Hunters Lane with pride and glory. If history serves me correct, in 2006 1st round playoffs, Region 5A teams swept the entire Region 6 teams in the playoff except for one. It doesn't get any better representation for a Region in the first round of playoffs. So stop the "Oh Whoa Is Me" persona, it's not fitting for Hendersonville representation in Region 5.
  11. Good question David Lee and Ravenwood has no excuse, it happens. If it makes you feel better, then go for it. There have been no actual Ravenwood posters on here besides myself and I'll only make appropriate comments related to real game/school discussion which sorely lacks on these threads. All other posters on here are opposing posters from Williamson County teams. It is a love/hate relationship. They wish all Williamson County teams to do well in the playoffs but will equally bash the Raptors when their team is playing. The bashing Hendersonville is receiving is the typical ones Ravenwood receives during the regular season. You have now received a good indication of what Ravenwood has received this year from other Williamson County team posters. The reason you are not seeing Ravenwood posters on here? For one, Coach Rector frown on our posters getting on CoachT and making fools of themselves with inappropriate discussion that is unrelated to game itself. Second, if you can??™t be nice and respectful to the opposing teams when making comments, then consider yourself not part of the Raptors. All these pit pats discussion on the football board serves no purpose and only makes the school look foolish to the readers. These lessons were learned this during past seasons experience and going to the state. It is a pleasure to go play this game at Hendersonville H.S. Ravenwood knows the Hendersonville coaches, team, student, and fans have a reputation of being among the best in the state. It is Ravenwood intent to mingle, tailgate our rears off, say Hi, and enjoy the game on the field because this is where the game is played. It is a true blessing to be in the playoffs, playing, and enjoying the playoff atmosphere. Ravenwood has a large following as most Williamson County teams. Ravenwood parents and fans are gracious and loud. Ravenwood student section can be obnoxious and loud because they are students and this is what students do. As far as the strength of schedule discussion, you play the teams in your region and schedule the other teams that may help down the road in tough games and playoffs situations. If Hendersonville feels they have fulfill this with their schedule and met their team goals, who am I to disagree.
  12. It's funny how quickly minds will change when Ensworth, MBA, and BGA are ruling the local private school football scene.
  13. Great article, it just excellent example by keeping positive at the lowest point, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
  14. What has politics got to do with it? You get on here and your rant is just as bad if not worst as KingZ. By lowering yourself to his level, do you think you accomplish something? CoachT has a political board section "CoachT Politics, National Issues, & Controversy"if you wish to join to discuss and debate your political views. It is best to stick with football discussion in this thread and keep the language clean. I suggest clicking on the following link for "Message Boards - Terms of Service for board conduct.
  15. After reading KingZ posts over time, it is becoming clear KingZ is a Franklin student to stir up Franklin by posting nonsense in support of opposing teams. These things happen on the boards all the time...they come and go and it is suppose to be self serving for Franklin. KingZ method of operation is posting ignorant rants against Franklin whomever Franklin is playing. It's getting old, ridiculous, boring, and desperate for Franklin to use their personal operative for motivation.
  16. I've noticed him on the JV team this year as QB. He scores touchdowns by running around in circles in the backfield, makes everyone dizzy, and then takes off downfield.
  17. Can only hope to keep it that way. The atmosphere at the old Gallatin stadium is classic. It sure would be a shame if Ravenwood doesn't make it by there this year with the change in playoffs next year. This will be the last of the playoffs chances with Gallatin and Hendersonville going to Division III-5A while Ravenwood will be in the Division III-6A. We may need to fill the schedule with other teams next year besides MBA & BA due to the TSSAA. I cannot think of two better teams to fill the schedule up than Gallatin and Hendersonville if openings exist.
  18. I like the ideal of Ravenwood going to visit the friendly combines of Hendersonville for the first time. Ravenwood already been to Gallatin, Hunters Lane, and Antioch for playoff games. With respect, I would like to say all three of them were first class teams and fans.
  19. I couldn??™t care less what is the lineup is for the playoff. When it comes to playoffs, you strap it up and get ready to play at a higher level of intensity with a goal to make it to Blue Cross Bowl, no matter the opponent because all opponents are very good and can win on any given night. There is just no easy road to the championship game as previous history lesson between the two regions will testify to the unpredictability.
  20. Coach Rector would never say that about another team or coach, much less about team preparation. After talking to the team after the home game, he heads to the coaches office unless reporter is asking questions. Then again, you may not know who, the RHS coaches, much less Coach Rector. As far as you know, you could have been talking to me but I didn??™t make the comment and I??™m no coach. Coaches don??™t make comments like the one you made unless it is in confidence to one of his own coaches or trusted person within an organization.
  21. I was saddened by the news about AJ Krow breaking his hand at this point of the season. AJ has been outstanding athlete and a tremendous leader for the Bruins. It is always sad to hear top athletes like AJ, who enjoys playing football so much in Brentwood since the Blaze program, to go down to season ending injury at the height of a season.
  22. I like to send Combos and Company at Franklin and Brentwood Seniors/ex-Blaze players McGaw, Krow, Regan, Sligh, Slowley, Eshenroder, Barnes, Skiera, and Gregory best wishes for a fun and exciting game. It seems like only yesterday these boys were playing Blaze football on the fields at Crockett Park.
