  1. I am looking for a game to go to this Friday night, but I have some criteria to make my decision. I am looking to find out if any of the teams still alive run the 4-4 defense or maybe a variation of it. I am wanting to look at some different fronts and alignments than I am used to seeing. So, help a fellow out, what teams run a 4-4 or maybe even a 3-4. That will make my descision for me. Thanks for any help.

  3. Livingston Academy is one of the better 0-2 teams around. They had a much bigger Stone team beat untill late and last week gave a good Smith Co. team all they wanted. I predict a HOGEYE win this Friday. Go Big Blue!
  4. I hear the DC from Coffee Co has applied for the position. He had a pretty good defense and not all the speed in the world to work with last year. He is an excellent coach and would make a great hire if you got him.
  5. Word has it that the defensive coordinator from Coffee Co. Coy Sisk has applied. Has worked hard with an undersized and less athletic group of kids. His defense will get after your behind and with ATHLETES, there is no telling what could happen.
  6. Is the Catholic Invitational a dual or individual tourney?
  7. There is an opening to wrestle Friday Jan. 23 at Coffee County due to Eagleville having transportation problems. Centennial High will be there and anyone wanting to wrestle please leave a message on this board or contact head coach Roger Barlow @ 931-510-7960. 4:30 weigh-in at Manchester (Coffee Co. High). Anyone is welcome, and the additional team would be appreciated. Roger Barlow Coffee Co Wrestling
  8. Randall Jennings - 160 - Coffee County 15-0 Won gold at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Lookout Valley
  9. Thursday 12/04 Tullahoma 47 Coffee Co 24 Coffee Co 39 Lebanon 35 Tullahoma defeats Lebanon not sure of score. Quite a few very competative matches on the night. Bright spots found on each team.
  10. Thanks bigdaddy, good to see the kids in a competative situation. I'm sure they are tired of beating on each other and will be ready to lay it on the line against the owls.
  11. Hey guys, I just heard that LA played in a jamboree on Friday night and was wondering who, where, and how they did. I wish I could keep up, but being an old HOGEYE alum coaching in south Tennessee, I don't really get to keep in touch much. This is also the first year that I don't know the kids. I have coached a lot of the ones previous when they were just babies, but that seems like forever ago. Good luck to the Big Blue and as always..... H-O-G-E-Y-E, HOGEYE, HOGEYE, T-N-T!!!!!
  12. Robbie Gonzales is a senior, 6'10", 325 lbs. He will be playing next season at Alabama A&M.
  13. Do any of them other than Lamb and McCoin have head coaching experience? I played for Terry Melton when Danny was the O.C. and I know Bruce. They are both good men but I wonder if Danny has still got a bad taste in his mouth. I think Bruce would be a great fit at LA and Qualls is an alumni and I know him as well and think he would be an asset to the program and would be a fine leader. It does sadden me to see the state of LA football as of late, but I really think that with the quality feeder programs of the Outlaws and LMS, I don't see us staying down too long unless there is more going on than meets the eye. I don't think that this is the case though. There are too many good kids there to let that happen. GO BIG BLUE!!!
  14. So, yeah, I played a bit after high school and became freinds with a couple of good guys from on the mountain as well. They were great guys, but my junior year we bested those two seniors. My senior year was a different story. That was 1992 and I remember the bus incident at the district banquet. Not representative of the whole SC bunch but a few idiots, kinda like I don't hold sunshine as representative of YAI alums. Again, best of luck to YAI. PS. I'll tell ya about speed, check Wilson Central. My current team played them twice and got thumped, and we weren't bad. Good luck from a current Red Raider and HOGEYE alumni!
  15. The thing that I find ironic is the fact that after high school, many LA and YAI kids find themselves interacting with each other, often becoming friends. There are a lot of family ties between the two areas as well. With that being said, there is no love lost between the two schools during school days, that is the reason that I can say that as a HOGEYE alumni, I wish you the best and represent this forgotten little corner of the state. Good luck, and take it to DCA. HOGEYE nation, as bad as it hurts, is pulling for you guys. (A good natured rivalry is good for the soul!)
  16. No freshmen are in our secondary. CB Sam Myers JR. CB Micheal Goins SR. FS Nathan Jones JR. SS Tyler Thornton SR.
  17. I agree with the Squad. I am very, very familiar with Smith Co. and Franklin Co. better make no mistake, they are tough. They are big and hard nosed and they are not afraid of competition. FC had better not overlook SC or it could be an embarasement. One word of advice would be to not even look at them as 2A, but rather as a perrinial state contender. Nothing more and nothing less. Good luck FC, DO NOT take SC lightly!!! It should be a win but will be hard fought. I am pulling for ya.
  18. I blocked for Clark Mitchell, Curtis Hayes, and Greg McDonald. Bye the way, glad the blue and white game is back to.
  19. Hey wildcat#75, no disrespect intended, but back in the Terry Melton years, we had a blue and white game every year. As a matter of fact my sophmore year it was in front of the student body but got cut short due to best friends fighting during the game. My best friend was whipping my tail and it could not go unanswered, lol. We are still great friends and I feel those years were some of the hardest nosed LA teams around. I am biased though, lol! Anyway, great to hear things went so well. I wish I could come up and see first hand on Fridays but I will be on the sidelines myself. I will be there in spirit though and wish you guys the best of luck. Play your hearts out and be tough. I'm pulling for my hometown boys. H-O-G, E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. This is for you CCF, don't worry about what people on this message board says or thinks. You need to stay focused on the task at hand. The only thing that matters is your work right now during the summer and paying attention to the coaches. These guys on here aren't at practice or in the weight room. They don't know your heart. But to answer the question, we need to improve in all areas. We need to improve everyday because we are not ready. If you read to much of this stuff on here you will start to believe it be it good or bad. These boards are fun, but they are for has-beens (no dis-respest intended) not those with games still to win. See ya at practice.
  21. Any of you Livingston guys out there paying attention? Just wondering how the boys might look. Any help would be great, thanks.
  22. Whith an attitude like that, there is no wonder in my mind why he left. What you have to understand is that instead of spending time with his family he was spending his time with you and your team mates. Seems to me you should spend less time worrying about the coach and take care of the attitude first. I am sure he doesn't deserve that kind of disrespest. I realize that phatiger40 probably does't represent the other members of the Pigeon Forge team. This is just the opinions of an outside observer, take it for what it is worth.
  23. Hey all big blue faithful, how is the 07 season going to shape up? How did spring ball go and who should we look for. I am really interested because I am on the sidelines every Friday night at another place and still feel a connection to the program that I call home. Thanks everyone!
  24. Livingston Academy is the wildcats but have a "war cry" of hog-eye! H-O-G, E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T!
  25. Like I said in an earlier post, my guys have their state title. I am also pretty sure that the Winnersville Champions don't really want nor need fans that are as rude and classless as you have represented on this forum. Please, we will not hold you against your team as I am sure there a plenty of good posters and people that claim the same allegience as you, just not sure they would claim you. I wouldn't.
