  1. I am pulling for Clay County to win this one, but honestly I think that Pickett Co. will probably get the win. I think Clay County has a good chance to win and it will more than likely come down to who takes care of the basketball and stays out of foul trouble the best. I think PC will win by 5 though after free throws.
  2. Just to comment on the whole state thing. There is a very good reason why we in Overton County do not play in the TMSAA. That reason is simply they will not let you play 4th,5th,6th graders up on the Varsity team. By doing that, at small schools such as Allons, and Hilham there would barely be enough to put 5 on the floor, and some years there probably wouldn't be. However, by letting those younger grades play up, you give them valuable experience, and it makes them much better in the long run, as well as making those 7th and 8th graders bust their butts all year long to get to play because if they do not work they know there spot can and will be taken by a 6th grader or 5th grader, etc. In my opinion, the TMSAA makes it where the best schools in the state cannot play in their tournament by making rules like the one where the younger grades cannot play up. That is the big reason I think none of the Overton County schools want to play in TMSAA, correct me if I am wrong bigdaddy, but all the schools in Overton COunty last time I checked has 5th graders and 6th graders on their teams...right? Also, I believe that most of these schools have 6th graders starting now also...correct? Good luck to Livingston and Hilham in their games this weekend!!!
  3. Mt. Juliet only beat Allons by 7 in the regular season, and that was with freethrows being made at the end. But they are one of the top teams in the state.
  4. Benstiller23, you are the same guy that everytime you post you say 8aa is going to sweep 7aa. Everytime you say that, and it did not happen, but as biased as you are, I bet you still think that is going to happen don't you. LOL. LA should beat Station Camp, although it will be a good game, and LA needs to play team ball to do it. Look for a good game Tuesday night for LA I hope. I also think White House will beat Smith County, but they could make it a good game if Smith Co. plays to their capabilities like they have been as of late. Good luck to the Wildcats in the Region semi's!!
  5. I agree with the general that we need to get through the district tournaments before we start talking about the regions. However, I think the teams that get 1 and 2 in the district have a really good chance at making it to the regional finals this year because they get to play on their home floors. Obviously the #1 seed will have the best chance at making it simply because they have the home court in both games of the first two rounds in the regional tournament if I understand it correctly. Good Luck to the Wildcats in the post season.
  6. This game was a great game. Wright is a really good player, and so what..he plays basketball. It is a CONTACT sport, if you don't like it, go watch a chess match or something. IF there was no bumping, shoving, elbowing, etc in basketball, it would not be half as popular. I am certain though that Jackson Co. played flawless basketball all night, never threw an elbow, never tripped anyone (which ended up in a dbl foul where Wright tripped the guy as well), and they probably never NOT ONCE went over the back, charged or anything else. What PC (Wright) does is about the same thing that JC does but they did not get caught at it necessarily on this night. Had it went the other way ppl from JC would be on here saying we got cheated, the refs were horrible, etc. GEt OVER it, thats basketball, and it will happen more and more as the tournament moves closer. Good Luck to JC and PC in the tourneys, I would also like to go to 3 more games between these 2 this year.
  7. No this quote was on the back of an Allons Elementary state championship shirt a few years ago just for someones information. Awesome quote though, one of my favorites. Wow...what an awesome game to be at. Especially since I wasn't rooting for anyone, I was just there for a good game, and man I got it in both games really. Awesome job to both teams athletes, boys ang girls, for putting on an awesome show. Pickett Co. boys could not seem to keep their players on the floor. TC Capps probably didn't play 8 minutes in the whole game, which was kind of dissappointing as a fan because it could have been an even better game possibly if they would have let him play. I know he had 2 fouls starting the second half and they called some kind of horrible holding call away from the ball and he got that a couple of time I believe, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Jacob Wright also had to watch the 2nd overtime due to fouling out, which was alos a really, really bad break for the Bobcats. Pickett ended up with 4 maybe 5 fouled out in the end, and Jackson Co. ended up with 2 fouling out. #31 missed the two free throws that could have won the game in the first OT for JC but came up with a HUGE steel, and also had the last 2 free throws that iced it, and may have hit a 3 in the end if I remember correctly. Awesome game though all things considered. There was also a call where the called a charge and a block on the same play because 2 referees had different calls. Shouldn't the call have ended up being made by the third referee or maybe even a jumpball. I mean you can't have a charge and a block, it has to be one way or the other I thought. There was also another double foul, but this one was really deservant of both. Jacob Wright and a kid from Jackson County both tripped each other purposely(so it seemed) right in a row, which ended up hurting Pickett more than JC I think because Wright in the end fouled out. Jackson Co. knocked down the big shots, hit the free throws (which Pickett Co. could have won had they just hit their free throws because I know at two different times in the 4th- 2nd OT they missed 4 in a row.) Jackson Co. deserved it just because of the free throw situation. GOOD GAME though to both teams. Cannot wait to see another one just like it in the District and Regional championships, and maybe even in STATE who knows. P.S. I think both sides have their classy people and their people that are just morons so to say. Every school has them, the people that really show their butts just because they can, and Jackson Co. had 3 fans that did just that during this game. There was a guy from PC making alot of noise, etc and they went and sat down right behind him, seemed like they wanted to get something started or something to me. They showed their butts big time and they were young so in high school at JC. That just shows that all schools have people like pc#1bobcatterfan that make themselves look like real morons by saying things like our team is gonna win by 20 (which people with brains from both sides knew that was a monsterous exageration) and people like these 3 guys from Jackson Co., but just thought I would add that in there since there seems to be some confusion earlier in this board about how unclassy PC was and how classy JC was. Yeah...lol...it showed. Great job by both teams though.
  8. Well, I guess that is the difference between Livingston Academy and Unaka. Size does matter, and no one is going to say that it doesn't, but that is NOT an EXCUSE that should be used when a team the caliber of Pickett Co. loses. LA has size compared to PC and everyone knows it, no need in stating what everyone already knows, but PC has to have the advantage experience wise against LA. All those players played last year the whole time, and most of them got to play two years ago at least a little. TC got to play some, Wright was probably the first sub to go in, and Roddy also got to play two years ago some. LA, however, has only Tyson Stover that got to play ANY two years ago. Ramsey, West, Everly, McLearran, and Chase Dunn are all sophomores, and only chase and maybe ramsey got any amount of playing time last year. I do not think any of the rest of them got to play much, but some of them may have. The good thing about LA and PC is they got a good season ahead of them, and next year PC and LA will have a good year, and the next year LA will still have this same bunch except Tyson, so this will be a few fun years for both these teams. Good Luck to both teams this season.
  9. You may have not said that DC was going to win this year, but you DID say they would be undefeated in the district next year. NO WAY. I wouldn't even think that as an outside chance if I were you. Upperman and LA will take the district again next year, DC will probably take third though. Good Luck to the Cats against PC Tues.
  10. Benstiller23 I agree with you a lot more than the guy that has obviously got blinders on to the rest of 7aa. LA and Upperman will be more than DC can handle, just like last year. But maybe they can contend for third I mean who knows.
  11. Livingston Academy has a LOT of talent, and will be very good this year, but for some reason most people think they are just going to be average. Pickett County return all their starters I think, including Wright and Capps. TC Capps is going to rebound a lot if LA does not put a body on him, but if they put a body on him and box him out he will get 5 over the backs and foul out. Wright is going to put up 15-20 points probably, and Logan has the potential to knock down some 3's. Roddy is probably going to have a tough game unless he really boxes out good and gets LA's post players in trouble. If LA keeps out of foul trouble, or if TC Capps gets in foul trouble and cannot rebound for PC, then it will be A LONG NIGHT for the Bobcats. My prediction is PC keeps it close and LA pulls it out in the end if TC and Wright stay out of foul trouble, but if they don't LA wins it by 10 or more. Good Luck to the Cats on both sides, and hope to see a good game.
  12. dctigerfan? Unless Dekalb Co. has improved dramatocally, they will not win the district this year, AND anyone that thinks dekalb will go undefeated next year in the district is going to have a BIG awakening when they play LA this year, let alone once LA has over a year to mature. They will be in shock once they play LA this year I think. LA will turn some heads this year, and next year they are going to be even better, and the next year they will be even better than that. Am I seeing a trend here? They have a ton of talent on their team and it will be fun watching them play and watching them mature as a team this season. Good Luck to the Cats. By the way, my picks for the district, Upperman and LA 1 and 2 not sure which one will win it but the other one will take second. Dekalb County will probably have to settle for third this year to Upperman and LA, and they'll also probably have to settle for 3rd the next couple of years to the same two teams. May as well get used to it.
  13. I knew it was quite a bit to go to school. It also varies by the county too though, so I think Macon co. might be able to waiver it, not sure on that though.
  14. Well, I do not see very many of the people from Hermitage Springs going across any line to any county or any other state. Even though you only have to sit out one year IF you have played at another high school and change schools WITHOUT changing addresses. The main thing is it costs quite a bit of money to go across the county line to another school. Sure, they could go to Macon Co., but it will cost them considerably. Several thousand dollars per year is not out of the question there, depends on what the counties rate is. I know in Overton County it is $500 per month. I just don't see many people going across the line and paying that much to go to another school, it just does not make much sense to do that. Also, if you are playing in another county then you live in, and TSSAA finds out about it, I am almost certain they will not allow you to play. However, I'm sure some of the people from Hermitage Springs will try it, but they should just be aware that they will end up paying for it. Good Luck to Clay County and Hermitage Springs in 06-07.
  15. I also would like to congratulate the Clay Co. Bulldog seniors. First of all Bobby Knight, you had it rough after the injury took you out last season. You had alot of catching up to do, but REALLY helped out in the long run. Without you in the district and region tourneys especially, I don't know how we'd have gotten through, or even if we would have. Jake Hewitt, you also had a really great year this year, and I have never seen you play like you did on Jake Skogen. It was awesome, and it had a HUGE part in the trip to the Boro that ya'll finally got. Jon Godwin, you played awesome about all year, and you have all the trophies, rightfully so, to prove it. You made a great add on to the team, and without you, there is no telling what may have happened with this team. Saylor Walden, You have hit big shots all year long. NO, wait, your entire career in high school, you have hit big shots. FCS, Clarkrange, PC. I could go on and on, and can't forget that tenacious defense you played on Bailey last year in the Region Championship, and District Championship. Tyler Kerr, what to say, the three point specialist I guess is a good way to put it. You stepped up this year, and I was unsure how you would step up to be honest, but you came through for the team, and was fun to watch a lot of times this year. Dustin Rich, I don't know what to say about you either. You are probably the best overall player on the entire team. You have that ability where you can put the ball in the basket at about any time. That was shown multiple times, not just this year, but in the last four (Temple). I also have to say you are a really good defender, you can block shots so well that it is really hard to get you to stay on your feet, understandably so. Congrats on the hard work I KNOW you have put in the last four years, I seen it, and I know at times in the past few years, you have wandered if anyone has. Congrats on helping to lead your team to the state tourney in the Boro. Casey Ferrell, when I hear your name and watch you play, one thing is especially noticeable, and that is HUSTLE. I think Coach Melton may have said this earlier, but you are one of the hardest workers on the team, if not the hardest. It was AWESOME when you finally got the nerve to move to Celina and play, and we finally got to play together again, no matter how brief it was. I remember playing in grade school together, and you always had all kinds of quickness, agility, and overall SPEED, but then, you had the CRAPPIEST jumpshot ever. LOL. I was very glad to see you develop that jumpshot when you went to high school, and run the JV team at LA, and then bring it when you came to Celina. All of you guys played your hearts out, not only all this season, but every year that I have ever watched you. It was an honor, a privilege to get to see you guys develop as a team this year, and it was an HONOR to get to play with 4 of you for three years, and 4 of you one year. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Once again, you all mean a lot to me and I am EXTREMELY proud of the effort you guys put out. EVERYTIME you walked out on the floor, I knew I was going to get my 5 bucks (or whatever it is) worth. I enjoyed every minute, and Clay Co. basketball is going to have a really tough time replacing you. Losing one of you seven would hurt a normal team, but losing all 7 of you will definitely be a devestating blow to the program for at least two years. I know everyone in Clay Co. is looking for the next GREAT Celina year to be with the Baileys, Scott Brown, Tyler Edwards, Nolan Dale, etc, and NOW you know how hard you have to work the next few years if you want to make a legitimate run. Thanks for all the exciting basketball this season, and good luck to Clay Co. next year.
  16. First, Congratulations to the Bulldogs. TWENTY YEARS, and 4 SUB STATE's in a row to get here, but FINALLY ya'll pulled it off. Congrats to Casey Ferrell, and Dustin Rich, I truly think their big play won this game for us. Everyone played good, as Saylor and Tyler Kerr stepped up and hit BIG shots, and Godwin knocked DOWN some HUGE free throws. But, play of the night has to go to Dustin Rich, what about that post move to make a game winner. Congrats Dawgs you deserve it.
  17. I would first like to congratulate Grace Baptist Academy on a big win over a good Pickett co. team. Also, congratulations to Pickett Co. You guys exceded everyone's expectations this year. Awesome Job. Good Luck to Grace next week.
  18. Sorry about that, trust me it was an honest mistake. I only put the ones on there that the RBS radio guy told, I did not know the rest of them. There is no one I'd rather watch play then TC, love to see him throw it down with authority. Anyways, good luck to PC and Clay County, both have a chance to do something that is very hard to do, and need to take advantage of it. It has been very hard for CC to do that in the last three years, but maybe this is the year, let's all hope so.
  19. Clay Co. plays Temple Monday night at 7 pm in Celina. WOW. Fourth year in a row, but this time Temple has to come to celina, how will this one go? Can Clay County finally get to the Boro or once again will they be DENIED by the Skogens? Good Luck Dawgs.
  20. LOL. I think he may have the wrong team too. As for jackson Co. They are a good team, and have a lot of talent, and most of it is coming back I believe. As for the coaching getting them beat against Clay Co., I am sure you would understand that they were not going to beat CC. They may have gotten ahead, but they were not going to knock them off, it often takes CC a little while to get going. However, Congratulations to JC on a superb season, and good luck next season.
  21. First of all, Congrats once again to the Dawgs on being 4A Champions. As for Saylor and Jacob Wright, if they were running their mouth while being HONORED for their good play, that is childish by both of them, no matter who starts what. Both of them should have had enough class to shut their mouths, no need to make a fool out of yourselves in front of everyone, especially not when your out there being honored for your good play. Both teams have played GREAT games all year, and both teams have done well, even if Clay has won all four meetings, should they meet again, who knows who would win. There is only one way to find out, Pickett Co. go to Chattanooga and be victorious, and Clay Co. take care of business at home, and let's do it again for the STATE TITLE. How great would it be for District 7A to have both teams in the championship, and the girls have a great likelihood of doing that too in RBS and JC. How great would that be? Good luck to the Bulldogs against probably Temple, and Good Luck to the Bobcats against probably Grace. Both should be great games. Congrats to Rich on playing such an awesome game, and congrats to Jon on getting MVP.
  22. Agree with both those last two statements, and as far as the 7th Grade tournaments go, no it will definitely be closer next year in the regular season. All I am saying is the "dynasty" is by no means over. They will be good again this year, and the year after that(6th grade now) Allons will DOMINATE everyone else in the county. Hilham will be a good second probably both years, assuming Allons decides to play ball in the tournaments, which is no guarantee.
  23. ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM Saylor Walden (CC), Jacob Wright (PC), Dustin Rich (CC), James Gibson (PC), Jon Godwin-Most Valuable Player of the Regional Tournaments. Congratulations to both the Bulldogs and the Bobcats in the region tournament, and Good Luck to CCHS, and PCHS in their Sub-state appearances.
  24. CLAY COUNTY BULLDOGS ARE THE REGION 4A CHAMPIONS FINALLY.
