well to bad for powell this year...even thought they had a good run they were lackin many "aspects" of the game. I think that Oakland exploited the weakness in finding out that powell dont have an inside game. even thought they can beat a team out of NC, dont mean that they can beat an in-state team such as Oakland. all in all superb game to Oakland...as for Powell sorry to see you all comin home after one game and out...better luck next year

Powellfan dont worry about McGaha. He will be just fine. I think that the way that our d is set up to keep the o-line off the linebackers and the d line isnt supposed to make any plays. Me personally I think that he is a player that is needed on the defense to help out Mr. Lakin. Just ask him powellfan. You get up here and talk about players who you don't even have the first idea of who you are talking about. I think you sayin that Bruhin and McGaha are disappontments is hilarious. I don't know what game your watching but they both have played exceptionally well. We will see what you have to say after the game Friday Powellfan.

All of these allegations are false. Lee Smith is innocent and Mrs. K is innocent. This will all blow over and it will be a mere memory. I know that the boys from Powell aren't bieng distracted by this in any way. As far as the taunting goes for the away game....BRING THEM ON!!! It'll make the victory that much sweeter. Lee is a good person and an excellent football player. This is just some person who started a lie and now it's made it public. GO POWELL HIGH FOOTBALL!!! 2006 STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!

Holy cow!! I can not believe that people are actually predicting SD to be a good team this year!! This is unbelieveable!! First off Maryville will more than likely be a number 1 team again. 2 Powell is going to be in 2nd, yeah they lost alot of players,but still they are going to be tough!! West will be 3rd. Central 4th. Halls 5th. SD 6th. Clinton 7th. And who ever is left in last. Posters can say what they want to...But SD in the top 3 no chance. HAHA. Thats funny people think that!! anyways good luck to all the teams...and GO PANTHERS!!!!

I think that Jimmy will step up and have valuable PT this year. He's a tough kid and anit afraid to take a hit. Jordan Allen is going to be one of our better linebackers and receiver too. I think that one of the best out of Gibson and Barnes is going to be Gibson....because of his age though he is going to have to step it up and play like a Junior. I think little Goody will be a good player, he's not a TE though. He'll be a better tackle or something but not a TE.

Here's the thing, there really is no problem...the receivers are fine. I think that with the addition of Justin White and TJ Cruze with Tibby, Allen, and JP they should be fine. However, not a knock on JP,but personally I think that he would be better just playing safety or corner or whatever he plays. We are perfectly set at the receiver spot. Here's my question IF Lowe decides to run the sets that he ran last year....Who is he going to put at the TE spot??? It aint like we got another 6'6 TE that can be the next Jason Witten.

Ok..Panthers08, I will stop there. yes the red head didn't have an all state kind of year. I don't think that it was a factor of laziness or basketball, it maybe the fact that he just didn't respect any of the players that he played with. Yeah, this aint the NFL, but as a high school ball player there needs to be some kind of team chemistry and not have any kinds of "bad apples" on the team. You can't win like that. Bet you Maryville respects one another. If your who I think you are then no you weren't really a big time player for us but you did give us some help. The motivational part was real touching, I'm sure he will take that to heart. But who knows. All I'm trying to say is that THE 2006 PANTHERS will be better than the last year team. As for #92, he was cheated by many of colleges who didn't want to offer him. He was the team leader and everyone looked to him for inspiration. He is a player who will be hard to replace.

Now we are pushing it "talking" about McGaha and Bruhin. 1st off for all of those "underachievements" that he made apparently they earned him about 4 division 1 offers and Bruhin is one of the most dominate players in 3-4a. McGaha will step it up this year, I had the chance to sit down and talk to him and he told me that he realizied he didn't have a very outstanding year and that this year things will be run differently, and with the help of John that they would lead this team to great things. He knows that everyone will be watching him so that won't be a problem to him, he dose good under pressure, I have known the boy since we were kids and he is the type of player who will come up with the big play when the occasion arises. So, don't you worry about him.Those 2 are a force to be reckoned with combined on the defensive and offensive side of the ball. Don't be bad mouthing these two players. 2nd of all Jay Courtney is an excellent leader. Yes, he was one of our key players and will be missed dearly but wasn't Josh Huffaker the 1 who was carring the major portion of the ball his soph. year??? As for Lee Smith he will do fine at UT, he will be missed also. You can't replace a Lee Smith type ball player. Watts too. BUT, on the contrary with the loss of these 3 fine players the Panthers are going to be as strong this year as the last. And they will have the best opportunity to beat the Maryvilles and the Centrals. SO Panthers08 you can talk about losing all of these players all you want to. The fact of the matter is you really DON'T have your heart set on Powell High Football. Talk all you want to but you don't. I'm sure when you were there you had a big impact on the team.HAHA. You really don't know what kind of fire power the boys from Powell have. Me being a spectator, these boys look more of like a TEAM then the last year so called "team" did. You don't hear about these boys stirring up and kind of major trouble. I mean come on. With that being said in this post, I'm going to take the position that the boys this year are going to be better then the 2005 panthers.

Just by seeing the Oak Ridge Powell scrimmage, IN my opinion, IF Farragut can maintain the mental poise that they had last year the Admirals will have a tremendous chance of beating the Wildcats. Sterling is by far one of the BEST players that I have ever seen compete. He maybe one of the states top running backs, IF he works hard enough. AS for Maryville, they will have the team that they have produced for the past few years, GQ and his staff are going to make another run for the 4A state title again. However, the rebs will be tested by keeping the two outstanding players Tank Baker and Tyler Maples from a possiblity of getting injured. Other than that good luck to the team making thier runs for a state title this year. It'll be a tough one to muster up with the tallent that the state has.

Panthers08 HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY SIT THERE AND SAY THAT!!!! I mean do you not have any faith in the way that the panthers are going to do this year!?!?! Look man just because you couldn't finish them off in your years at Powell don't mean that they can't do it now. Apparently since you left you think that the team is going to be down or something. Yes West will be a good game but you of all people should know that we can and will beat them. They had a better team than us your JR year but we still managed to find a way to win. And that is the mentalitiy that is bein instilled into the heads of the panthers "FIND A WAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!" I think that everyone will be supprised in the way that the panthers play this year. Nicely said. I wouldn't worry about the 210 DE. SOMEBODY for sure will handle that kid(which is what he is). As for the rest I totally agree. That is the things that Powell is working on in there morning workouts:Faster team speed, eliminating unexusable errors. There is no doubt in my mind that Powell High School will be a tough competitive team. I hope GQ dose take an offer from the college level he would do wonders there. He is ready for a position there. And as for West High finishing 2nd with Powell thats a joke. Powell definitely will be one of THE toughest teams in 3-4a hands down.

The loss of watts and smith won't affect the panthers a bit. Not to take anything away from them they are good players and they will be missed dearly. BUT, the 2006 season holds many new things for the panthers. With the return of John Bruhin, Jared McGaha, and Jordan Lakin the panthers will have a very competitive team with the addition of Kenny Cruze, the panthers WILL be back in the fight with Maryville for a run at the state title. Go Panthers!!!!

Prediction for this game: Greeneville came, saw, played, and then went home after the first round. Yeah Powell wasnt very good, but from me seeing Hamiltons record and roster, thats enough for me. I mean do you plan on packing for a one night stay? Wiggins wont be able to even contest one 6'8 boy much less 2 and a 6'7 to go with that. Hope Duncan know what he is up against. This team hasn't lost one game!!!!! Don't get me wrong I hope you do beat them, or should I say upset them. 37 wins....Thats all I have to say about this game. If Hamilton dosen't play D then how would they even have a perfect season?
