  1. Congratulations to Allison and her family on signing with UT Martin. Allison is very deserving and has put in the extra effort to make this accomplishment happen. She had a great HS career at Siegel and in AAU. We look forward to seeing her on the court next year and could not be more proud. http://www.utmsports.com/
  2. My daughter had good luck with the Blue Chip camps she attended. I would do some research on the Camp, instructors, & facilities. Also, usually a good chance to meet up with College Coaches. Many of them work the Camps. My daughter met several good college contacts at the camps.
  3. Better be careful Shelbyville might try to find him a job!!!!
  4. Not trying to start a rumor, but thought I heard Clarke Davis was moving to Texas. She would have been critical player for the coming year.
  5. Wow - Coach Maxwell must be important to bring StarPres out of retirement. 2 Siegel Dads now singing the praises of new Riverdale Coach. What is the world coming to?
  6. Very happy for Linsie and her family. She is a great player and person. She will do well at Sewanee.
  7. Honestly glad to see my daughter on the list, know in her case it was purely from AAU and Summer Showcases not Highschool play. Seems to be an opinion of individual capabilites (future college), not necessarily the team situation that they are placed in by their HS coaches.
  8. She was asst coach at Siegel Girls for a couple of years. 1st she is great person and 2nd she is great coach. Brings a great discipline and understanding of the game. She trains hard and practices hard like she wants the team to play. She is a great communicator and we know how important that is with young ladies. I think she will build on tradition of Riverdale and make them even better. Glad we have graduated from Siegel, as Coach Maxwell will turn up the heat in 7AAA.
  9. Morgan got her 1000 points tonight in the first half and was presented a commemorative ball. We are very proud of you and your accomplishment.
  10. Jimbo have to strongly disagree. Shanice Cason from Siegel is Freshman of the Year. Shanice did everything that you quoted for Johnson - only faster. Both girls are extremely quick and have good overall skills, but Shanice is a half step quicker. As Shanice gets more experience with her quickness, no one will stop her.
  11. Maybe I can help Unify all of White County, I don't know about the other 7AAA watchers, but I am tired of the 30 pages of White County moaning. Why don't you start a White County Thread. I enjoy a little, but it's getting old. Thanks
  12. Swami - as a Siegel fan, glad to see you picking against us. Your last 3 picks for us have been wrong - hope this makes 4 - thanks
  13. Be sure and go to the Concession stand at Hendersonville they are serving up plenty of HOME COOKING for the visitors!
  14. PH - Not 100%, but believe it is Community HS in Unionville right off hwy 41.
  15. Siegel Varsity won every game except 1. I think they lost by 3.
  16. Coach T: Great job on the photos - thanks from the Siegel fans
  17. Tough loss for Siegel tonight, thought we played well enough to win, but things just didn't work out at the end. LC hit a big shot that I would let them have 9 out of 10 times. Have to congratulate LC on making the big play. I really think LC will match up very well with Riverdale. Both teams about the same size and play very similar defense (wonder why?). Will be interesting if LC can press Riverdale. Good luck to LC.
  18. Can't resist bringing this back up. Probably lots of flashbulbs. We played them at Cookeville and their principal was setting on front row shooting camera flashes into our player's eyes while they shot freethrows. There was a whole previous thread on this topic.
  19. Siegel may need snow shovels to get to the game - Siegel needs to get out early and be aggressive on defense & offense. I think we let Oakland dictate too much of the tempo early in our last game.
  20. Tough loss for Oakland. I thought Oakland played much more aggressive on defense in 1st half and was allowed by the refs to play aggressive. Refs tightened up calls in 2nd half, plays in 1st half that were allowed were called as fouls in 2nd half. Don't think either team was happy with officiating. Siegel lost several of these types of games earlier in the season, glad they could finish.
  21. No I don't know for sure, but was told by others sitting around us, who I assume were from Cookeville, but did see this same gentlemen handing out the hardware for King & Queen at homecoming crowning between games. Star Pres mentioned at start of this message that he heard this was principal. I am not going to respond any more on this topic. Just thought "whoever" this Cookeville fan was, acted with extreme lack of class. I will leave it said at that.
  22. Excellent Question - Why would he be taking picture of Siegel players every time we shot freethrows? Didn't see him taking pictures of Cookeville players shooting freethrows. The real point of the picture taking is that he was at a floor level view with angle shooting right into the shooter's eyes. Would have been obvious if he was standing behind the basket, but at his seat location hard to see unless directly opposite (which Siegel fans setting behind our bench got clear view of his actions)
  23. Pres - must agree with you. I did not see this going on until the final free throws, but was told this had been going on the whole game. One of the most classless, juvenile stunts I have seen and then to be told this was the Principal. I'm sure will be laughed off by Cookeville folks as we were just sore winners, but still can't believe this went on. I hope our school team film crew captured this. I'm sure TSAA would be interested in seeing this behavior by a member of the Cookeville HS administration.
  24. Pres - would have to agree with you on your points. Shame we don't have a good feeder system from the Middle School, should be one of our greatest strengths, but don't see any synergy at all between the two. Regarding our HS team - I hate to use the word "chemistry", but really think it applies. Doesn't seem like we are ever able to get whole team on same page and be hitting on all cylinders. Not blaming players or coaches, I know all are working hard. I also thought we played well this Summer and expected to build on those results. Hoping that it is all coming together at the right time. Rather peak at the end vs. at the start of the season.
