  1. Simmer! I don't think he's a bad player. I also don't claim to be a talent scout. All I said was that in my opinion, he won't play SEC basketball. Just my opinion, that's why I'm on a message board and not in an office getting paid money to scout basketball players. I realize your boy is having big-time coaches come watch him. You've made your point. I'm just stating my opinion. We'll see in a year or two I do remember him shooting well in that game. But I wasn't necessarily talking about his shooting, because he did shoot well, and had a pretty shot. I was talking about his post play, which is where he'll play if he plays. I was also talking about his lack of running the floor. Just something I noticed...... I absolutely do hope the best for both guys. I would love it if both of them won a national championship and went on to make millions in the NBA. I think it would be AWESOME if BOTH of these guys made it.
  2. I think "heck's Bells" is the best intro song ever.
  3. Thanks zonepirate and Pasture It should be an interesting playoff situation no matter what happens. I will say that the gold ball will be in region 3 or 4, one or the other!
  4. I know there is only 1 high school in the county. But my point was that it is a single A school, and people act like they have male students running out of their ears when they don't have any more than any other 1A high school.
  5. I just don't know ya'll....Before the Temple game, I though SP might be be the favorite, but 34 points.......that's ugly......I'm from Middle Tennessee and haven't seen either team play (I watch highlights on the internet), but it sounds like SP might be in deep crap if they have to play Temple again....Anybody who's seen both teams wanna say otherwise????......help me out.....Why would it be sane to think SP can win the gold ball??? I know teams have bad nights, and maybe there was an injury factor????.......like SP's whole senior class got stuck in traffic...lol......But 34 points....help me out.
  6. I read the article in the Tennessean. I think Clint Satterfield is showing an insane amount of self-restraint in his comments. If I were him, I might not be able to keep myself from sounding off. He DOES NOT run the score up on purpose. What is going on here is that people do not realize that for the past few years, TC's cheerleaders have been good enough to run the score up on people. The answer is to play the subs, WHICH SATTERFIELD DOES! Whoever made the comment about not dressing the freshmen so they could have a small roster, or something like that, and how they have kids beating down the doors to play on the football team, insinuating that Coach Satterfield cuts kids who want to play so that he can play his few good players and beat people by 50 points every week.....you know NOTHING!!! I'd wager to say that you can't even find Trousdale County on a labled map! If you want to know the reason why TC's roster is small, then I'll tell you: 1. It's a freakin' 1A school! Hello!?!? How many boys do you think go there? For that matter, how many boys do you think live in the entirety of Trousdale County? 2. Coach Satterfield's teams (himself and his staff included) absolutely bust their can year-round! You'd be pressed to find 50 boys that attend Trousdale County High School who would live through 1 year of being on that football team, much less that would want to try! To think Satterfield cuts people to give himself a small roster is RIDICULOUS! If you haven't been to a TC game this year (which wouldn't surprise me in the least) they START FRESHMEN!!! PLURAL!! And another thing; whoever said that that it's Satterfield's fault for not having a JV team and tried to make him look bad for that too (probably the same guy)???? HA! This is HIGH SCHOOL football, and the purpose of JV is to prepare the players for varsity. Many of the would-be JV players START FOR THE VARSITY TEAM! What do you want him to do? Play a JV schedule, have his 16-20 freshmen play both sides of the ball for the whole game, then turn around and play most of the varsity game on Friday??? That's probably a call YOU would make, but NOT a coach that's worth his salt. Or maybe you want him to play his juniors or seniors the whole game (not that he has enough to do that) and not put the "JV" team in, LIKE HE'S BEEN DOING! Or just maybe you want him to tell his kids not to play hard; miss blocking assignments??? Or tell his coaches to call dumb plays on purpose to set his kids up to fail??? Well, you won't get that from Satterfield. And I'm sure the kids (and town for that matter) who rise and fall with TC football thank him. Run the ball, take time in between plays, play the "JV" team, take knees; yes. Call dumb plays, wrong defenses, tell his kids not to play 100%; give me a break!
  7. Football is not about being nice to your opponent. I do not agree with being arrogant and standing over an opponent that you just tackled, but lingering to help him up......sounds like a teammate's job to me. The way I see it; make the big hit; turn around and go crazy; get ready for the next play. No need to make a spectacle out of the guy you just hit, but also no need to get him off the ground.
  8. Well said. I will say, however, that if it weren't for sports, it would be the public schools that wouldn't survive, not the private ones. But I agree with the jist of the post. We should put more emphasis on education. It is important, and I think students need to buy into that. More talent than any other county in the state???? Talented; yes. Most talented; I think not.
  9. I say the 1-3 seeds from region 4 move on, along with region 3's 1 seed. Possibly a 2-2 split. But region if it's lopsided it will be in favor of 4, not 3.
  10. Because they beat a TC team who hadn't been beaten in years (19???) of region play before everybody realized that TC was just a top 15 team, not a 15-0-beat-you-with-our-cheerleaders team like they normally are.
  11. Not true at all. Jeremy Rickaway, while he is their best player and a big part of their offense, he is by no means all they have. They have an excellent punter, Wade Mitchell (I believe that's his name???), and an excellent safety, John Doak. If you think Rickaway is all FC has in the playoffs, then they will pound their butt. Their defense is a bend-but-don't-break type. But I tell you what, they enjoy some home cookin' officials in Lebanon that'll make them hard to beat in the playoffs ('cause if I'm not mistaken they have home field until the 'Boro or the basketball court). But I don't think they'll need them. They are a good enough team to win the gold ball, but I don't think they'll win it going away (like TC did last year ), and they might not do it at all. But they have as good a shot as anybody or better.
  12. And the fact that they beat the daylights out of South Pittsburg
  13. You're right about bulletin board material. You never want to give a team any of that if you can help it. And he probably thought it was JUST going to stay in the Tennessean???? And not work its way up to the big paper that EVERYBODY reads, the Robertson County paper (whatever it's called)????? That's a real good excuse......
  14. Championship game. And are you absolutely kidding me! Did I just read that McMasters is ranked 27th in the nation!?!? HA! That is ridicilous! What poll is that? And I know I'm sounding like I'm hating (not nearly as bad as that one guy; dang!......I might could play for Lee right now....LOL!) but I'm not. I don't think he's a bad player. Just not SEC material. I've played against and seen SEC material. And although I haven't played against McMasters, I've seen him play, and to say he is one of the top 30 basketball players in the United States is crazy.
  15. I think he was talking about the picture that went along with his post
  16. Ah! Yes! Thank you! I knew it was somebody I was impressed with! With Sheridan and company, and the whole eye-poking stuff. Thanks!
  17. Slow your roll I just said I didn't see it; that's probably why I'm not getting paid millions to coach future NBA players I mainly just threw that out there to see if anybody else agreed???? And I'll be honest; I saw him one time, and that was in the state tournament. I didn't even know who he was until I read my program before the game, then started asking around, and got some answers. And I'm not trying to say he stinks or anything like that. I don't think that. I'm just saying that I wasn't impressed, and was wondering if anybody else was in the same boat???
  18. True enough in recruting, but actual on the field ball playing; it honestly doesn't play a big role. I've seen corners come off the field after covering a guy who's supposed to have a blazing 40, and say something like "Man, he wasn't nearly as fast as everybody said!" Then I've also seen corners get their butts whipped for 4 quarters by guys whose 40 times are less than what might turn D1 heads. And plus, anyone who's ever ran timed 40s knows it all depends on what day it is and who's got the watch. But I won't deny that 40 times are somewhat important and do play a role in recruting, however, 2 tenths often doesn't translate into what it's supposed to on the field.
  19. Marquis Weddle, Marquis Weddle, Marquis Weddle.MARQUI.....oh, sorry.....wrong year.....
