  1. Monterey will be playing Cornersville on Thursday in the Stones River Bowl. At this point not exactly sure where the game will be. I think it is going to be at Middle Tennessee Chrisitian School, but Coach Heady did not know all the details yet. They should recieve more info Monday.
  2. The Monterey coach did not come on the field and chase a GV player. He told the official to throw his flag for one of his players being tackled while GV was on offense. The official threw his flag, but it was on Coach Heady. At the point of this flag in the game it was all but over anyway. Both Caoch Heady and Coach Webster are fine young coaches. Almost all of the coaches in region 4 1A are excellent coaches.
  3. FCSPride I'm not trying to belittle you either but you are wrong as well. If Watertown beats Monterey it is a mute point because that would give them 4 wins over teams with a winning percentage of 50%. However if Monterey beats Watertown that would put MHS, TCHS, and FCS in a three way tie for 2nd. Each Team would have three wins over teams with a winning percentage of 50%. (If Harriman beats Oakdale Monterey would be 2nd anyway). So you would go to rule E3 which states that "The team whose opponents have earned the most victories". At that point MHS non region opponents are 17 and 10, FCS non region opponents are 10 and 17, and TCHS non region opponents are 11 and 16. (All region opponents would be the same). At that point MHS would be 2nd.
  4. Monterey played a great game. They did a good job of keeping Rickaway botteled up and they just plain out played harder. The coaching staff had those boys ready to play.
  5. Upperman only had one player that did not play against Monterey and that was a LB that had gotten a concussion in their first game. I think everytiime somebody beats this team they have excuses for it. Maybe Watertown and Monterey were just better than them. Monterey had a couple of kids out for this game as well. Excuses are for losers!
  6. Monterey has a couple of kids going. I think both of the QB's, a RB and a WR are going.
  7. Where did Watertown's tailback transfer from? What kind of player is he
  8. My team is in 7A. I was being sarcastic.
  9. 7A is pretty weak they only had a team in the top 8 and a team in the final four. Pretty weak if you ask me!
  10. Adkins has the ability to take a game over when she is hot. She has a quick release, but sometimes she shoots before she is set. When she gets a good look and sets her feet she can shoot the lights out of it. At this point Molly and Taylor are the two scoring threats on the team. However, Bethany Paschal has started showing some signs of improvement. She is a freshman as well. Sampley and Sells are really good defensive players, but they don't look to score much. At this point Molly draws a double team every game and sometimes she gets triple teamed. I look for that change as Paschal, Sells and Sampley all continue to grow.
  11. Her name is Molly Heady, and first of all she is an outstanding kid. Molly is a good basketball player. She still has areas she can improve in, but she is just a freshman so she has plenty of time to work on her weaknesses. As for the Molly Laken deal it is a non issue. I can assure you that neither girl cares about their stats. They are both about winning. It is evident in the amount of work and heart both girls put into it. Laken was very deserving of her Co-MVP award as was Phillips. Molly was also very deserving of her Freshman of the year award. Laken had a great night last night. Molly got into some early foul trouble that limited her playing time and her ability to play aggressive defense. She also sat out the last 7 minutes of the ballgame with a swollen up eye she got from an accidental elbow. I for one enjoy watching these two girls battle it out on the floor. It is going to be a very fun one to watch for the next three years. If they both keep improving I think they will play at the next level. However, both girls are only as good as their teammates
  12. First of all it is Monterey, and second of all don't tell me a story about how upperman played in the game against Monterey. They got beat, and I promise you if they played again Friday night they would get beat again. Monterey had a lot to do with all the mistakes that upperman made. However, if it makes you guys feel better to claim you beat yourself then keep on making excuses for your team. The last time I checked you have been beaten badly by 2 single A teams, so i don't understand how everyone can keep saying how improved the bees are.
  13. This was one heck of a ballgame with a playoff atmosphere. Trousdale County got a lot healthier tonight with the return of #11 Satterfireld. They also got #20 and #32 played as well. So Monterey played a different team tonight than everyone else has played so far. #11 was the difference in the game. When Trousdale needed a big play he seemed to be the one who made it. #7 played pretty good as well. However, with that being said Monterey played a very good ballgame. They had a couple of drives for touchdowns of around 80 yards. They played with a lot of emotion. Coach Heady had his bunch ready to play. Good luck to both teams. I believe Monterey could still play a big role in whether or not Trousdale gets into the playoffs. It is going to be interesting to see how this region race pans out.
  14. How can you say this about the coaches in Monterey? You probably do not even know them. Our head coach is one of the best young coaches in the region. I agree Satterfield is better, but he has also been coaching for a lot longer than Coach Heady. I also know that Coach Heady has Monterey headed in the right direction. It also seems like everyone that Monterey beats always has lots of good things to say about Coach Heady and his staff.
