  1. Also, don't forget that the ACT Test is scheduled for December 13th and some of the kids are taking the test. How many of the kids that you guys are throwing around (name wise) have qualified for college already? How many of them have all of the core courses and a passing grade on the ACT? Without those things in check no college cares about 1,000 yards rushing or passing if you can't get in school anyway.
  2. What some on here are forgetting is that they could only pick 90 or so to be on the team. Just because a player is good in your district or region doesn't make them an All State/All Star Player. Stats are padded all the time, for instance some of the QBs stay in games way after the outcome has been decided and add to their stats against inferior talent or a kid runs the ball in a particular system more than a better player/back in another system. You can argue all you want but the fact in the rosters are set and the kids are leaving soon to start practice for the game. Either support them or shut up because we have to remember these are kids and they all are playing their hearts outs because they love the game and some are going on to college because of that love and passion. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN THE GAME AND I HOPE AND PRAY YOU ALL HAVE FUN AND COME BACK HOME INJURY FREE!!!
  3. One reason Hillsboro is so good is because they are an OPEN ENROLLMENT SCHOOL, they have kids from all over the Nashville area. That is almost the private school type of recruitment thing.
  4. BigDog, you can't compare BGA with Franklin High, FHS has 300 kids in the Freshman class, BGA has only 300 kids in the whole High School. BGA is much improved from a couple of years ago but they are still a team with a ways to go. They will be competitive every week and they do have a different attitude now, they have 3 legit D1 kids on the roster and they all transferred in during their Freshman year, so they have grown together and it is finally paying off for them and the school. BGA should be a playoff contender in DII but depth is always a problem at a school with such a small student body. Comparing BGA to Franklin is like comparing Vandy to Southern Cal, at this point just two different worlds. BGA should actually be playing in the DII A division with the likes of Davidson Academy but they chose to move up and play with the BA's and MBA's, I commend them because they want to compete with the best the state has to offer and yes BA and MBA are two of the best in the state. They have won over 90% of the match ups with Public School teams they have faced, no matter what division the Public School Team was in. BGA GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE WAY AND KEEP THE ATTITUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. First, let me say I don't have a kid at either school but I follow region 4 - 5A. To all of you Saturday morning Coaches, instead of always criticizing why don't you go to the Schools you are so frustrated with and volunteer some of your time and experience. Next, to all of the guys downing the kids, they are dealing with the hand they are dealt. I have witnessed some of the play calling at Blackman over the last couple of years and yes a lot of times I am scratching my head but I also know that I don't know what they are trying to do offensively because I am not at practice during the week. I spoke with people who know both Collier and Crocker and they all said the team supports Collier and Crocker is more of a distraction than a help to the team. As adults we have to remember that sports are actually secondary, these teachers are there to develop productive citizens, with good if not great character. Remember one day they will be out of school and if they haven't been taught to be good citizens and to have good character we will see them on T. V. in a different uniform, an Orange Jumpsuit. So, please people keep athletics in perspective. I did play High School and College Football, so no one can throw out that I don't know what I'm talking about. I just know that there is more to this than who can throw and run. With that being said GOOD LUCK TO BLACKMAN AND RIVERDALE the rest of the way.
  6. I have to go with Blackman, if Collier is running the show they will win, if Crocker is running it they will lose because he is a hot head who thinks he is better than he really is. I hear that Justin Bowers gave a verbal to Miami (Ohio) can anyone confirm?
  7. I had a chance to see him in person at several camps this year and he is a good prospect. Don't forget about the Ramsey kid from BGA, he was at several camps too and actually was the best QB at the 1st Vandy Camp and the MTSU Senior Camp. I think Ramsey and BGA beat Campbell and Briarcrest last year, can't wait to see what happens this year with both getting a lot of attention. Either way they both will go onto to play at the next level, they both have given verbals, one to a Conference USA Team and the other to a Mid - American Conference Team. Southern Miss and Miami (Ohio) are the teams, I was just told.
  8. It is known in many educational circles that BA doesn't use the same admittance test that the other private schools use. Most of the other schools have an independent testing agency give the test but not BA, if you check the school records for athletes at BA prior to their enrollment at the school I would be willing to bet the grades don't measure up to the grades of kids going to the other schools. NO one can argue the fact that BA is good in athletics but no one can argue that most of the kids/athletes come their for athletics first, not academics. Don't fool yourself by thinking different.
  9. Jamal Ramsey, QB Battle Ground Academy (BGA) has picked up offers number 2 and 3. Arkansas State of the Sun Belt and UAB from Conference USA have officially offered.
  10. Is it true that Hughes from siegel still hasn't qualified and UT is suggesting the Junior College Route?
  11. What do we know about Eric Gordan, he seems to be the hot name out there right now. How are his grades, I am hearing everything from they are good to he will not qualify what's the story on this amazing athlete?
  12. Think about this, Crocker was back up to A - Rod, learned system his Sophomore year, had everyone coming back. Good line, great receivers, good back and he managed to destroy the chemistry that was there and get kicked off during a vital part of the season. LHS missed playoffs because of bad decisions made at crucial times in games by the QB (Crocker) can anyone say interception prone? Blackman be careful what you ask for, you just may get it. Now with all of that being said, let me give him some credit he did win the games he should have won and being his first year that is good. Lets remember he may not have been the QB if the kid who transferred to BGA would have stayed or if Gardner would have been willing to learn the QB position. Also, don't forget the team did better in big games with Ryan Williams at the QB spot.
  13. Crocker is average at best, he had the best receivers in his region minus Wilks. He threw more than any other QB in the state and his numbers are modest when you take that into account. He will ruin Blackman, terrible work ethic and thinks he is better than he really is.
  14. Some of you on here criticizing Pac-Man are the same ones taking up for Roger Clemmens. You dog Barry Bonds but you forgive Andy Pettite, lets be fair. If one is bad they all are bad, the media makes some out to the worst thing on earth and the others to be saints who just got caught up. Please if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it is a duck. So, put all the ducks in one pond.
  15. Have the All State and All Region teams come out yet? If so tell where to find the listings.
  16. Who has Ukwu from LaVergne High narrowed his choices down too? on unapproved website they say he is down to three now.
  17. College athletics are year round and for Sonny to play both would be a feat. He no doubt has the talent but knowing the competitor he is he would want to give 100% in the sport and not just be average because of a lack of time to commit to one or the other.
  18. Why isn't this on the TSSAA site? Is this a Sanctioned event? What college coaches are going to be present? How do you guys know this?
  19. How is Jefferson from Ensworth doing?
  20. What is Coach Cain's Rep? Isn't he the main recruiter for this area? He is recruiting the Antioch Kid.
  21. What happend with Chris Jordan? He seems to disappear in big games. With the body he has as a High School Player he should be dominating, especially in DII.
  22. I have noticed several young guys but I'm not sure what class they are in, here they are: Mike Crocker - LaVergne High Cody Hager - Smyrna Steven White - Station Camp Jamal Ramsey - Battle Ground Shannon - Wilson Central
  23. With this season coming to a close, who are some of the Juniors to watch next year as they become Seniors?
  24. I don't know it should be a close game, BGA has been hit by the injury bug. They have lost their QB, WR, and RB in the last two weeks, what is the status of WEBB?
