  1. as much as I want to be for sevier county, (since my momma went there) Fulton would take the smokeless bears to the woodshed year in and year out... just my humble opinion there bro namath NOT SO FAST my friend! Sevier County would hang right there with Fulton simply because of the coaching staff and they have better athletes than people think they do. Besides, Fulton runs about the same offense now that the Bears ran 10 years ago, I know because I played for Coach Brewer and I've seen Fulton play numerous times and its almost identical! I'm not saying that Fulton doesn't have great athletes and great coaches, I just think that the Bears are always better than people give them credit for, JMHO.
  2. The real question is will Mike even dress the Varsity for this one? :justwrestle:
  3. I really like what footballdad said about the city vs. rural argument. IMHO the only way to make things truly fair would be for the TSSAA to split into Urban and Rural divisions based on community population and then classify the schools accordingly. Just one man's opinion, take it for what its worth :justwrestle:
  4. If it rains this baby won't even be close!
  5. Well going from the spread to a more conventional offense changes everything and you have to teach how to block all over again. It may take more time than everybody thinks to get the Cloudland train out of the station again.
  6. Now that Mr. Robinson is gone, how long was that guy there anyway, seemed like forever, and can someone tell me what he's doing now. Back to the game, I like the Rams in this one based on the fact that the Wave graduated ALL of their offense.
  7. Well you know what they say about potential, its exactly THAT! Potential isn't worth a big pile of poo, its how that potential gets used that counts. Like I said I haven't seen Cloudland but I can't see them being far superior than Unaka when one got ALL their offense back and one lost ALL their offense from last year, so like I said I'm reserving judgement on the score based on the fact that I haven't seen the Landers play this year.
  8. Young man you need to lay off the shine!! The Rebels have righted the ship and will lay a sound beating on the young, and improving Mountaineers, but they can't improve nearly enough before Friday night to keep the Rebels from puttin one on em!
  9. Its a shame that this game is being called a walk for the Bears, this used to be a great rivalry game because of the bordering counties thing. I was lucky enough to be on the 94 team that beat CCHS for the first time in 19 years. Any who good luck to the Roosters, as they will need it, Coach Brewer can name the score and I say the JVs put a couple in the make 42-0 da BEARS!!
  10. I like the Highlanders in this one, and I don't think it will be as close as the experts think!
  11. I haven't seen Cloudland so I can't comment on them, but the Rangers look pretty good offensively. They've got some kids that can make some plays, their D is a little suspect so this could be a shootout, I'm just sayin'
  12. I never mentioned a word about anyone's Coaching staffs, Hampton plain and simply had the better team. The one thing that sticks out to me is, Hampton and Cosby has about the same number of students, Hampton evidently does a better job of getting kids to play. I doubt Hampton will ever have a team as young as you guys claim to have. I didnt say YOU mentioned it, when you have kids walking the halls that could make a difference yeah its tough, and why would we make anything up about the age of our team, why would we claim to be young for the sake of making a claim? If Hampton never has to go through that then they are lucky, because they will be the only team in the history of football to not have to break in a bunch of new kids in the same year, I'm just sayin'
  13. I hope everybody the rest of the year disrespects us and thinks they are going to throttle us. The fact is we are getting better and not everybody we play from here on out will have that big size advantage that our first three opponents had on us. Our young kids are getting better and understanding more of what we are trying to do, I'm not at all saying that we will beat Cloudland, but I certainly don't think they will run us off the field. Again I say that I would love to see the great staff at Hampton take our kids and us have theirs and see what the outcome might be. Hampton did what they should've to us, they are bigger and more experienced at every position, the only advantage we had was Robert, 11 on 1 I like anybodys odds, a monkey should be able to point to things in the playbook and make them work in a mismatch like that, I'm just sayin'
  14. We're not giving up down here, we still think we can have a good season. We've replaced 8 starters on D and 7 on O, and most of the new kids are FR and SO, so we're struggling with some growing pains right now. We can't run our whole D package because of all the younguns but we're getting it in slowly but surely. Good luck Friday night and every Friday night but one!!!!!
  15. Good to talk to you again King, but youre right, 5 is a player, unfortunately everybody knows it! I wish he was a little harder to recognize on Friday night.
  16. wow guess my prediction was wrong.. point blank and period.. PF's is just a very very young team only 3 Sr's actually play.. but the main thing they need to do is work that offense and deffensive line.. if they had a good line they would be a hard team to stop cause if they could get Chase Travis some open holes this kid can do some major damage!!! PF will be ridiculous in the future if they can keep kids on the team Yeah, that sounds about right............."PF will be ridiculous in the future if they can keep kids on the team" That is said every year,,,,,,,,,they will be great in the future........always looking to the future, the next year and so on and so on. I'm starting to think the only thing that can or will help PF is a coaching change. After watching them play I really don't think it's the kids or lack of kids. Of course that's just my 2 cents worth. No offence to you, but you are not at all familliar with the community of PF, so your two cents is completely inaccurate, the coach they have in place will eventually get the job done if they let him. The problem at PF has nothing at all to do with the coaching staff I assure you.
  17. Good luck to the Landers, always like to see region teams do well.
  18. Look here people the game is OVER! Congrats to Hampton, you beat a very young but scrappy Cosby team that will get better as the year goes on. Not taking anything away from the Dogs, yall are very big and strong up front and took advantage of that HUGE mismatch, we were down a SR starter at LB and had to put our SS in his spot. We started multiple FR and SO all over the field, and played against what I would call a SR laiden team, if I had to guess. Any way congrats and good luck the rest of the year. By the way, this is for Mr. Townsend only, if our coaches are so bad, what did you think of your coaches last year when yall NEVER adjusted to the pooch kick, or pouch kick as yall like to call them, and I would love to see what Hampton's staff could do with Cosby's kids and likewise for Cosby's staff, then maybe we could get a better gauge of what each staff could do with what, I'm just sayin'
  19. Well I'm making my much anticipated first post of the year. We are very, and I mean VERY young this year, but the good news is most of the younguns have a fair amount of tallent. We have progressed nicely from the preseason to now and we have improved from game one to now. If we will keep working hard, this season will be successful no matter the number of wins. As for tomorrow night, who knows, football is a crazy game and we just may be able to find some fight in our kids and at least make it interesting.
  20. No one from Cosby has ever said that we would beat your beloved Pirates, the thing is we are tired of a couple of your fans constantly bashing our program and our kids. First of all like the guy from Boyd said yall dont even have a clue where Cosby is, and now since the realignment you won't have to worry about it. There is no doubt that SP is much more the storied program than we are, but we have only had a program here since the early 90's, how long has the program been running at SP? Like I said we have never compared ourselves to your school and it would be foolish to do so. We are building our tradition still and there is no reason for your fans to get on our threads and put our program and our kids down when they have never seen us play. We are proud of what we have built, especially in the last few years, why does that bother yall so much?(by yall, I mean Queen Leon and the Ambassodor) Thats all any Cosby fan, player, or coach has ever said about anything, we didn't get the memo that we needed to run it by a few of your fans whether or not we could or couldnt say positive things about our program and not be ridiculed for it. So there really is no reason for this thread, anybody that knows anything about HS football would not even put us in the same breathe with yall, but we are trying to build our reputation up so that maybe one day we won't be that far off. Coach Johnny Yoakum CHS Defensive Coordinator
  21. Are you coming to do the honors yourself? If you are why dont you come on up and just give it to me. I'll gladly accept the award, provided your the giver of the gift, after we take care of the presentation then maybe we can see who the MUFFIN is between me and you. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Who am I kidding, you have no idea where Cosby is and I dont think you REALLY want to come up here and meet us any way, we have a word for what you are up here and it is certainly not MUFFIN, its a little stronger, a little more to the point if you know what I mean. So there it is come on up and bring me the trophy and then we'll see what happens from there. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. All I know for sure is that Dunn, Herzog, Grooms, and Miller were on the team from Cosby, and thats all I know, sorry I cant elaborate more for you. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  23. I heard the same thing, I wish Mike the best no matter what and hope he's happy with whatever decision he makes. It was a lot of fun matching witts and coaching against him, but he's an even better person than he is coach. I truly believe that without Mike Hampton will not be NEARLY as good, but thats JMHO. Again good luck no matter what, the region may not miss you as a competitor, but we will certainly be minus a great coach that helps make our region as good as we can be! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. SP is just a bunch of muffins that got beat by a better team, MUFFINS!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> The KING MUFFIN LEON how could you let TC beat yall MUFFIN!! Big blackberry MUFFIN!!!
  25. Alcoa is VERY good, but i dont think they could compete with Prattville, dont know about the others, but Prattville would probably beat them soundly. JMHO
