Great post. Until the people from NET see the football played in the Knoxville area and further west they just will not get it. There's a reason why D-B goes 10-0 and loses in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs every year. For this game I'll say
G.H.S-20
S.S.H.S.-30
and for the semi-finals I'll say
M.H.S.-33
S.S.H.S.-15
I agree. I mean who wants to see a repeat of the rivalry game between Farragut and Bearden that went into overtime in the regular season. Who cares that these schools are only 15 minutes apart. I'm sure the fans of these schools would rather drive 3 or 4 hours the day after Thanksgiving to see them play a team from Nashville, or even better yet let's send them to Memphis to make sure they don't play someone they've played before. Or for the class AAAA fans why would they want to see a repeat of the game Where Greeneville upset Sullivan South 21-24 when the fans from Kingsport could drive to Paris to see the Rebels take on Henry county in the 3rd round.
I loved the rent-a-cop that was telling kids on the way in that they could not take in their footballs. Why do so many schools in Knoxville only have bleachers on 1 side of the field? This would not be so bad if they did not block off the entire track. Anyone know why schools block off their tracks?
They've played Alcoa, Heritage, and William Blount for their out of region games for as long as I can remember. All these games are good draws for everyone involved. Why try to fix something that is not broken?
I think a team from Morristown will end South's season for a 3rd straight year. I could be wrong, but that does not happen very often. Even if South and Maryville both do make it to the state semi-finals, that's about 14 weeks away.
Boone fans could care less about any quarterback. Boone always has been and always will be a running team. As long as Boone has blockers and someone to hand the ball off I think they'll be pretty good this year. Too bad I live in Knoxville now.
