Can't remember the last time I coached a softball or baseball game - or even played in one - when it was 20 degrees. And I've been dong this for 35+ years. Volleyball is indoors no matter what season it is unless you're at the beach. So that point is useless. Colleges start the softball season in February. Volleyball and Soccer would get in the way of that. I have 8 girls involved in those 2 sports, and that would especially hurt smaller schools, where girls are multiple sport athletes. Also, travel ball goes on till the end of October, so how is that not enough? Not a good idea at all.

She won't be able to use that illegal crow-hop in college. Better enjoy it now.

A bunch of athletes that can make the grades, or stay out of trouble. They need a coach who will come in and make those kids do what they are supposed to. Administration sure can't do it.

Well if that is the case, then Mcgavock's principal should give his better-half at Cane Ridge some advice. It doesn't matter, Hillsboro is the only school with a chance at ever succeeding outside of Metro anyway.

Well the principal at Cane Ridge doesn't know anything about sports. The issue there is personalities that don't blend, you're not liked, so you have to go. I'm sure it's a blessing not to be coaching there anymore. Parks will get something somewhere.

You would think that Webb would have enough money to build bleachers for both sides of the field. Nice campus but their football complex is sad. I guess they give all their football funds to recruit players from all over East TN.

Coach Burchett had no intention of leaving. Williamson County has a bunch of know-it-all diva's with blown-up egos that run their schools and athletic programs. He is a great man and a great coach. Big loss.

Davidson has played well in all of their losses up through the 3rd Q. They were leading BGA at half and only down a field goal after 3rd Q. They were down 4 at half to FRA. Leading Friendship at half by 7 and lose by 7. Down only 1 point at half to Columbia Academy and Nashville Christian and lose both of those. They play hard but just can't play well enough an entire game it seems. They can score points but give up way too many. Go Bears!!

1. Private schools can get students from anywhere. Some private schools have student-athletes from multiple counties, even other states sometimes. And I know this, as my son is a student-athlete at a private school. Public schools are basically stuck with whoever is in their zone. 2. Recruiting.

I certainly agree. Not too many players (if any) that were in the TSCA All-Star game either. 8AAA is a tough district and didn't see any players from there.

The young lady that played for the 0-13 district team and 9-23 overall record was an outstanding player. She is very deserving. She plays for a very respectable public school and a coach that recognizes deserving players no matter what school she happens to be ZONED for. She had a very good season in a very good district. Are we supposed to only reward players for good teams? If you are a high school coach then you should respect anyone who is chosen.
