Practice is for real next week. Who does everyone scrimmage this fall?

It was a good tourney and some teams got some much needed reps in.

Yeah it couldn't be a lack of talent or facilities. It has to be coaching. Nevermind the fact that it could be poor genetics.

It's going to be a weird fall for the Cubs players. In the jamboree they'll play in at ERHS they'll see Coach Finley coaching his new team and they'll also see Coach Jackson coaching his new team. In the first game at Fairview they'll play against Coach Jackson's team. In the second game versus Creek Wood they'll play against Coach Hatley's team. In the third game against Harpeth they'll play against Jett Brinkley. The Indians QB was at Cheatham through his freshman year. The "bye" comes the week after that and it will be much needed after the emotional roller coaster that will start at the jamboree and go through those next three weeks.

Does anyone have a game by game result?

They scrimmage Cheatham County on 8/9 at home at 6PM. They also play Stewart County on 8/16 at the East Robertson Jamboree.

Henry County will be loaded and Northeast has been a major threat in recent years. Dickson County is now out of the district. How does everyone see it shaking out?

I heard he wasn't having the surgery. Indy has a tough preseason schedule with Columbia, Smith County, and Tullahoma being the competition. Blade will have a lot of chances to look at his talent before the season starts in 9 weeks.

Yes he is a very good coach. He is also no idiot. He turned it down from what I heard on the streets. What a joke! They won't even offer it to MJ because of his ties to CF.

I can't help but say Francis got it right years ago when he said "get out while the getting out is good." Cody won 67 games in 11 years. I challenge those people to find a coach who'll average 6 wins per season for the next decade plus.

I have no hurt feelings. Your post wasn't aimed at me "sport" but I noticed when howdy did respond you were silent. Metro didn't give Finley a "fair shake" in my opinion. He is a good coach with a proven record. Also having been the coach at a school for 11 years is long enough. If he wants to apply for a hundred jobs it's his business. The guy at HL has been a head coach at 3 Metro schools in 5-6 years. You are questioning the wrong coach's dedication "sport". He may be a good coach for all I know but it doesn't make him above criticism. Finley tried to land 2 MNPS positions and got zero looks. Why? Is hiring from the outside really that "hard" for Metro to consider? Also, I heard it through the grapevine that the Stewart County principal would be very interested in talking to Finley for the school's football job. He was a good hoops coach at Waverly in the day. I'm guessing he knows a good coach when he sees one.

What a jerk! What business is it of yours if he wants to suggest a friend for a coaching position? People like wingman10 and coachbob have both suggested this ELA guy for coaching positions in the past. Perhaps you should nominate a friend of your's, or perhaps even yourself, for the job if it bothers you to that extent. Chill out!

I am amazed. Mote is 63-73 as a head football coach in 13 years. He was 54-62 in 11 years at Columbia Academy with 4 playoff trips during that time. He was 9-11 in 2 years at Alabama Christian. This is seriously the best choice that Goodpasture could find?

You're the idiot who keep starting the drama. Your team lost dude! Get over it! Oh and Cheatham County lost to Kenwood by 6. Waverly lost to Dickson County by 32. Kenwood and DC split the season series. Maybe some coaches who love to poke humor at others shouldn't get so bent out of shape when humor is poked in his direction. That would be my advice on this whole situation. Harpeth sucks! Cheatham County has owned them in 4 of the last 5 meetings! End of discussion.....on to Waverly

You are a Waverly fan dude. Your fans were the ones who followed the Cheatham County bus to a gas station off of highway 70 and attempted to start a brawl with players and coaches. They didn't attack the Cheatham fans that they had been talking to at the school. They attacked student-athletes. I don't think Waverly needs to give anyone's fans advice on behavior. You'll all get yours soon enough though don't worry.

Does Cheatham County Central High School not qualify as a "class act" in your opinion? I love how everyone was quick to compliment the Cubs when they were terrible for 4 years but since they've been good the last 2 years everyone wants to talk about how we are arrogant redneck hillbillies and how we are overrated. It's okay though because we didn't kill an innocent goat to get a good man fired a few years ago. We also don't need false compliments. When Harpeth shows up tomorrow night they have a beatdown waiting for them. The same is true for Waverly next Tuesday night. We're going to the Boro baby and if you're in the way of our journey there then you're about to get pushed aside. I hope every team in the district posts this on their bulletin boards before they play the Cubs too because it ain't gonna matter. We're still gonna beat the brakes off of your team and make you like it.

BasketballNutty- just wanted to let you know that the Chevy is warming up and waiting for you and your little Indian friends on Friday night. Next time you root against the Cubs son you better cheer a little louder because last night you nor any amount of fans were gonna stop Cheatham County from stomping a mudhole in those aces and walking it dry. The next team it's gonna happen to is Harpeth on Friday night and this time it's gonna be much worse.
