  1. Just my 2 cents worth but their are 61 schools in class A. The last 2 standing are Greenback and NCS. No matter who wins the game or what the score is these 2 should be proud of completing their goals of reaching the final game. Not a whole lot of people gave Greenback a chance tonight but they did what they had to do and got it done. Weather it is a silver ball or a gold ball that they bring home, they are the only 1a schools in the state will have either one in their trophy case next Saturday. (and I get paid to go to Cookeville and watch football.. LOL)
  2. ok. I am coming out of retirement from posting here just to say one thing. First off, O&B and Crow i told you all on the side lines a couple of weeks ago why i do not post on here anymore. Yes i am the one with the camera so you know who I am that I am there because i am paid to be there and really have no dog in the the race other than being a fan of our county sports programs. I remember a few years ago when the largest high school in our county traveled to Columbia to take on a 5a school that was rated in the top 5 in the state and nobody thought they had a chance. They proceeded to kick butt and take names and then traveled the next week to kick Tullahoma's butt which was also in the top 5 and make it to the third round. As it has been said before that is why they play the game. I don't care how good your players are or how many colleges are recruiting you, it doesn't matter until it is settled on the field. Tomorrow night it will be settled on the field. GO KEES I want to get paid to go to Cookeville {LOL}
  3. I agree that it is most likely an LC fan. They can't get over the fact that they are a classafication higher and their girls have lost 3 of their last 4 games with them. Not to mention that the Loudon boys also upset them this year. You throw in the fact that they are 2 classes higher in football and are riding a 7 game losing streak to the Redskins and you can understand frustration.
  4. Loudon Redskins are on WLNT 96.1 fm and wlnt.nexusbroadcast.com Lenoir City Panthers are on WLIL 730 am and wlilcountry.com
  5. I've seen many games this season and i have never seen any as bad as these. Oak Ridge fans were very upset with the crew too. I don't know exactly where they were from but the came in a SUV with Hawkins County tags. I also notice that when they left the parking lot a police officer followes them in a cruiser. Don't know why this would happen. Nobody was saying anything to them as they loaded their bags.
  6. I actually seen the paper the all tournament team was listed on. If Loudon had won, Janelle Menard was going to be the MVP. How can you almost be the MVP and not be on the all tournament team. It would have been the same if Loudon had won. Hickson would have been left off the team.
  7. While everybody from LC was happy with the two big wins Friday and Saturday things turned to saddness Sunday morning. LC cheerleading coach Shannon Vincent awoke to find her husband had passed away unexpectedly. Please keep this family in your prayers.
  8. Anybody know who won the Clinton MIddle School game last night?
  9. I was told this past weekend that they dropped out of the Lenoir City tournament because the coach could only get 6 players to practice every day.
  10. Guess what folks. Both newspapers are owned by the same people or company.
  11. I don't think anybody that was at the game last night can complain about gettin thier moneys worth. These were too great games with the Stone boys hitting a three to send it to overtime at the buzzer and the girls winning at the buzzer. I also think both teams played hard and showed a lot of class not letting the problems from last year interfer.
  12. The last couple years I have been on the side lines of both Loudon and Lenoir City football game. One thing that I have noticed is that most of the players not in the game for the Panthers are worried more about what's going on off the field and in the stands than watching what's going on on the field and trying to learn something from it. These are mainly the ones that know they will not get in the game, but still they could be helping their self if they paid attention. When the coaches see this they get on them about it, but the coaches should not have to baby sit theses guys. A number of times on third and long the coaches would be yelling "punt team ready" and on fourth down somebody would not be on the field and have to run out late to their position. On the Karns side line the only player close to the bench was one being treated for leg cramps by the trainer. The rest were where they were suppose to be, watching the action on the field. If you watch the Redskin side line they pay attention to the game also. As far as Coach White, I think the man knows the game of football but just don't have the tallent. One example of players not listening to the coach was in the jamboree against Polk County. On a third and goal play, Coach White called a player by his name and told him the tight end was his man and to watch him coming across the middle. As soon as the ball was snapped the player broke to the right and tight end broke to the players left across the middle and was wide open for the touchdown with nobody close to him. I also agree with a previous post that these guys have been told over and over again that they can't win and they are covinced that they can't.The last couple years I have been on the side lines of both Loudon and Lenoir City football game. 13. In case you ac people haven't noticed, loudon has beat both anderson county and oliver springs already this year.
  14. The coach pulled Thompson out of the game because he was being throwed at. He didn't want anything to get started that would cause trouble. The game was already decided so why take a chance on getting your ace hurt. A question i have is if Loudon had won both games for the district title would AC still have had their little fireworks display at the end of the game?
  15. No class is right. The last game against Loudon AC had a 15-0 lead and the coach was stealing bases, bunting and even tagged up a runner on an infield pop up. They also threw several pitches way inside to Thompson and finaly hit him square in the back. I would say that Gibbs also found out last night how annoying it is to hear the pa guy cheer lead from the press box. With the comments in todays Knox News Sentianl he really showed his class. Also when Loudon was playing Seymore Monday night he showed up because of his game being rained out (I didn't see him but someone told me he was there) and had the pa guy announce that they had lost 9-2.

    I think they should at least know the rules. Wednesday night in Maryville Lenoir City had a runner on third. Maryville called time out and had a conference on the mound. During the talk the ball was slipped to the third baseman for the old hidden ball trick. When the runner took his lead he was tagged and was called out. The rule book plainly says that after time is called the ball must be in the pitchers hand and he must take his place on the pitchers plate for the umpire to call play. After a 20+ minutes of arguing and rule book reading the runner was still called out. Also in a softball game the same night a ball was hit foul down the third base line. The third baseman reached into foul territory and grabbed the ball. The ball clearly bounced at least two maybe three times in foul territory. The umpire called a fair ball and the runner was thrown out at first. When the coach questioned why it was a fair ball the umpire said because the player was in fair territory. Come on folks if you do not know the rules get another job.
  17. LENOIR CITY BEAT SEVIER COUNTY IN BOTH GAMES OF A DOUBLE HITTER 1ST GAME LC 2 SEVIER 0 2ND GAME LC 4 SEVIER 3 8 INNINGS
  18. The nation was in full force. The crowed could have been better if it hadn't been such an early start. The Redskins played great and I think that 20-2 run in the first half after Fulton had jumped out to the big lead just blew their minds. The funniest thing of the night happened at the end of the Catholic game. One of the guys from the nation was having some fun with the Catholic cheering section late in the game. One of the Catholic players shot a free throw and turned to the guy from the nation and said something that got him a "T". Man was the Catholic coach mad. Loudon has had a lead on Catholic all three game only to fade late in the game. I think they will be ready to play the full game this time. Also don't forget the Lady's game tonight. The "YOUNG GUNS" as i call them are fun to watch.
  19. A lock next year? Yeah right. Loudon beat them twice with 1 junior, 4 sophs, and 1 freshman. Also the girl who got 37 last night scored almost all of them from inside the foul line. Where was the tall girl? Friday night they had Loudon down by seven with 4 minutes to go. Loudon called time out and put both three point shooters on the same side. Check the final score. Great move by Loudon and AC coach didn't do any thing to adjust.
