  1. a letter is earned by playing time, not practice time - this attitude is exactly what's wrong - what is "connected" - either you play x quarters or not?? this ain't some dad's pick up travel team!! of course we live in a purple world, you know, Barney, everyone is special!! Everyone gets everything, don't mean nothin! don't mean nuthin!
  2. did he have this problem in HS??? if so, was there any discipline?? or was he given special treatment then?? i've seen this at another midstate school, kids caught with marijauna on campus and still allowed to play... what does that say to the others??
  3. without a passing attack, starting qb is out, fumble two should be wins away already.... beech is not good... if i were coaching there would be 8 man fronts all night long... if you can tackle, they can't score... this team hasn't been very good in a long while... this region isn't very good... i don't know how good clarksville is, but if they don't fumble expect them to win by at least 14 pts.
  4. what was the score of the Hillsboro game??? because you make it to the quarterfinals does not mean you are a good football team, it can, but not necessarliy, you may be in a weak area? we will see, my only point is that neither kenwood or beech are very good... beating a metro team like stratford does nothing to prove you are a good football team... it is a long known fact that metro football isn't very good... there are always exceptions.... but as a whole it's true... metro coaches don't put in the time that midstate coaches do.... and neither do their players who relies on open enrollment to field good football teams?? Murfreesboro area is only one I know of
  5. neither team can pass at all when your down 9 pts and line up in a smoke stack power I formation with less than 3 minutes to go in a game something is wrong... i don't think they (beech) have a 2 minute offense installed at all and when they pass it appears as if the quarterback has his mind made up before he even throws?? kenwood creeped up all night on defense while they both played hard... neither of these teams are playoff teams... if they are then this region is weak... i would doubt seriously whether or not they would could even win a first round playoff game if they do get in... kenwood is typical of a clarksville area team... they have a lot to overcome without middle school football and the way people move in and out of the area... beech hasn't been well coached since he left for georgia! IMHO
  6. same bracket as the SEC and the NCAA World Series (which is where the SEC got it from) now we have district tourney's run this way... that is stupid
  7. sometimes he keeps u behind to show you too!!
  8. so i take it that recruiting is going well in Jackson and surrounding areas... do you still get to play even if you get caught drinking?
  9. what are these team's won-loss records?? post them after the game

    HITTING

if your gonna spend money on a tool to help go to www.shortstroke.com the shortstroke trainer is the best traing tool available to teach the short quick swing your looking for

    HITTING

put the knob of the bat on the belly and the tip of the bat on the fence or netting and swing is how i've always done it. hitting = talent + work + belief in yourself if you don't have the talent all the work and belief don't matter
  12. you didn't make it up to the suds area did you??
  13. I guarantee you'd see the games... most games after school are played at 4pm or 5pm when time changes... high school baseball has turned into a "see who can have the most toys" sport... and most coaches i know don't buy bats, the players have their own! Tournaments are fine, but playing games that finish at 9:30pm on a school night is rediculous... but, i forgot, education isn't that big of a deal compared to a college scholarship.
  14. how many kids from your school go to the next level each year??? how many never play past high school?? is this the HS coaches fault? I think not, talent gets you to the next level so what? 150 ptiches is okay every once in a while... next thing you know, we'll limit guys to 75 pitches, maybe he can go 5 innings or so...
  15. FOOTBALL COACHES started this mess, BASKETBALL COACHES jumped in (along with AAU) and now Baseball... How many players play 3 sports anymore?? when i was in school, there were several who could... now, you don't see many play more than one... why??? because "if you don't concentrate on one sport" you won't make it in college... that my friends is what everybody thinks... parents spend all this money on lessons, if they would save that money in a college fund - they'd have college paid for... no high school player should play sports to get a scholarship - that is totally the wrong motivation - they should play because they love the game, period... high school sports is supposed to be a "part" of the overall educational process... not the main part, just a part... time off is good... if you want to work, get in your backyard, get a tee and a $35 piece of net strung up and hit all you want... you can throw at home... i like the rule, but they should have taken more away from basketball and football AMEN, brother.... I see it all the time... why do schools have pitchers throwing in November???
  16. now i don't have a dog in this hunt... but the melrose team that white house beat in '97 had more talent than alcoa has ever had - now this ain't 97, but it ain't 2006 either - in 2007 you'll have two new teams and we'll just see how it goes....
  17. this title game is nothing more than a district/region championship... how can you have a state title game for 12 schools??? this private classification of A and AA is a joke...
  18. FRASIER IS A WINNER, PERIOD... KNOWN HIM FOR A LONG TIME AND HE IS A GOOD ONE... HALL WAS IN THE MARYVILLE COLLEGE SWEEPSTAKES... REPORTED OVER A MONTH AGO IN THE MARYVILLE PAPER
