  1. Well, let us just ask, if it didn' seem to be such a big deal on what he did, share with us the issue. Otherwise, at our school, you do ANYTHING out of line with ANY team or school violation, your gear is turned in and no more football. It' that simple.
  2. Let me tell you how we roll in Union City. Our kids don't get into trouble. We ain't like tac, tca Christian and slap on the wrist. You folks are like Trenton, slaps the hands of team and school violations. We dismiss or in southern term, "kick their #### off the team" policy. Zero, 0 , tolerance. We still win. So, glad they are back, hope Lake County kicks your butt. If a kid gets suspension from team and or school, just show how much winning means to your little private school verses teach a kid a real lesson. Yep, you mention public school, we roll tough at U C, care to come see. Just telling the truth to you tca blinded fans.
  3. wee, wee, wee. FYI, we actually had a freshman or two playing on the line. Don't start cryin' because your seniors or juniors are out or ended up out due to injuries and that's what beat you ! Can't help you only dress 26 on game night. Don't you have more kids in the school ? enough said. Have a great day.
  4. Nothing at all was mentioned about gold ball I don't believe. It's nice to beat a private school on their home field. Yes...adamsville will be a tough game for us and Trenton in a playoff game at that but one thing I know....your team scored 1 T D on our second string defense and the ONLY Points your team scored in the second half. I'm sure you have not had a 500 plus yard offense show and a 300 plus rusher pound your team, add to that 49 points...especially on your home field in a long time. I'm not worried about your team, we won and that's all that matters. I was there and as we were slow to start, something we are pretty good at doing is grounding and pounding our way back into a game. So, please, I did Not mention one thing about gold football's or playoffs or whatever.
  5. You wanta' bet ????????? 49-24 doesn't sound like overtime to me. LOL TCA was good in th first half but not in condition to handle the purple pride from U C.
  6. Union City "Ground and Pound" game NO MATCH for TCA, at ALL. Jones for Union City close to 318 yards on the ground and Union City over 500 yards total offense. TCA Defense no match for U C. U C spotted TCA a easy 14 points before playing their game. Union City does play well coming from behind. TCA is very classless also....1 unsportsman like penalty, one targeting play called before 1 st half over and a facemask pulling helment off Jones. You need to learn how to loose with class TCA. The game is out of hand now, I'm heading to the car to head home, 50 - 24....lol. NEXT!!!!!!
  7. Union City comes into this game adding another starter in the backfield from last year who was recovering from a pre-season surgery. He was U C second leading rusher last year with 800 yards +. We also gain another Senior back from being out 3 weeks. There is no way TCA can stop the run/veer game of Union City. They may pass and gain ground but overall, Union City will be the stronger team. The only way Union City slows down is make mistake of their own which has happens most of the year. They are defending the pass better. Adamsville has played a tough schedule and a team we all have to play yet. It's going to be between Union City, Trenton and Adamsville.
  8. Not surprised at this win by Peabody. To many weapons for the Lions and Trenton still do not have their starting quarterback in. Dresden will have at least 2 more possible losses, South Fulton and Obion County Central in the regular season, both of are playing very well. Huntingdon will be the 1A team to win, hands down causing Dresden playoff run to end quickly.. Dresden with a good unbeaten run.
  9. Not for sure this will be much of a game. May be a better game than the last two long road trips. Texas or not, this team ( Poth ) will not be able to handle the "Pound and Ground" offense that Union City will carry onto their field. I can also assure anyone Poth Texas has not played a team like a Mayfield or a Trenton or never do. This is a small school, a small district, a small community and they dress like 26 players. They do throw the ball which might give Union City some fits but good learning game. Should be a great trip and event for all that go. Best wishes to the team and I h I can make at last one more game this year being out of town so much. Their schedule says it is their homecoming. They have al only played 2 games thus far and won both by a T D and one was in O T.
  10. was able to drive in from work in Nashville area back to Trenton to see the game. The way most of the first half was going, I was getting a little worried. but things turned around and our guys out gut checked Trenton in the 3rd and 4th quarter. we have some injuries and needs some heal time. I had read a 2 or 3 weeks ago in the Jackson sun about the big kid from Trenton, #8, not impressed. suppose to be a superstar player, if he is suppose to be that good to possibly play d1 and only had one pass thrown to him all night, he might play at bethel or some school of such. u c needed a gut check and it happened. we can get kids healthy, should play well the rest of the season. Trenton had several huge players but small in number from years past. I was not, I say NOT impressed with their crowd. common folks, you had enough folks there for a good b game. get out and support your team. go tornadoes ! hope I can get to one or two more games later in the season. I had this game circled and was able to only see the jamboree game earlier this year due to out of town travel and work.
  11. mysonisorwas55 or whatever the heck your name is. wow, you the most trash talkin' dude since coacht was formed. i'm sure you are a 12 - 14 year old or some bench player daddy who is one of those who play's their wanta' be pro dad type dad. I'm sure you are at all of the practices, film watching, trying to send tapes out about your son, yourself or whatever. listen up cool dude, ive been to your stadium probably over 40 times in my life, you want to talk old and outdated....lol. well, yes, your cardinals are a great program, we all in U C give your team that respect but man, the kid in you has shined well. I think you forgot to learn or have not gotten to the age yet to actually know what respect is. There is one thing I will say about my ( U C ) team, you won't beat us by 3 T D's, your team will know they have been in a real game the first game of the year. I know of coach morris, know his brother and if you are a player, a former player or a players dad, your son would run laps if he knew your words are of such. a program gets to the top by winning and giving others respect. your the kind of fan that gives your program a slap in the face and dropped a notch. I know 98% of the Mayfield fans aren't like you. we have those kid of fans also, every team does. we all want our team to win but COME ON MAN, go to school and learn what respect is. I sure would hate to have you as a employee or a team mate or play for me etc... til tomorrow night, your eye will glow when you see what a real stadium looks like, national high school field of the year more than once as of matter of fact by Scott's turf. In the company of Green bay and a couple other NFL fields. so, rock on dude, continue to mix your koolaid, your fellow fans on here are even bashing you. til the light turn on Friday night, go read a book on respect, learn the definition. Go Tornadoes.
  12. Just remember Mayfield fans, you will be playing in Tennessee under Tennessee rules so a little home cookin' is always possible lol. Just like when we play up in your town next year. Our pass defense will be suspect for sure. But, our grind and grit 3 and 4 yards at a time offense will lure you to sleep and we will burn you with a pass or a run right up the middle that you won't be expecting. I was at your scrimage so yes, your Q B can throw and good receivers. Not sure your defense can slow down our smash mouth, in your face offense.
  13. where be 87viking be ? huh ? He was bashing me as well as others about my smack talk now he he has gone hiding. It's tough to take a loss especially your only other loss you have was from a team outside Tennessee. Humboldt was a very good team but now in the same boat with my team and many others, only 1 ( one ) will be remembered, only one. THE CHAMPION>
  14. It's been a good day. Mitchell and Humboldt never was able to shut their bus off and headed back home. With the recruiting Shelby County schools gets away with and Humboldt finally meeting their match, both team are sitting at home just like mine and many others giving someone else a chance to hoist a GOLD ball for the first time. No one remembers who made the state, they only remember the winners. Sho nuff.......

I just happen to know as we, our school system contacted UTM and Bethel and both gyms were occupied with games. That was done then and should be done now.

It was. But WHY are some of you not understanding this. Two games, U C @ Humboldt and Humboldt @ U C, both times the gyms were closed, people were locked out. Greenfield ONLY Moved the boys district because of this. They WERE and ARE SMART. Money, sir, it would be 5000 people if U C and Humboldt made finals. There were right at 3750 at the U C vs. Humboldt district championship. I'm 100% sure, Humboldt gym will only seat around 1500-1700 people. So, the money is doubled or even tripled at the gate and concessions would be unreal. But, like I said, Humboldt must be scared to move wanting that home cookin' call. Bash me, say what you want but this is the most logical and most common sense move for your school, the other three schools, our region and for the TSSAA. But like I said, if you have no common sense, you wouldn't underatand .

The quote I was figuring I would see...very typical. Well, to your blessings, I really hope Trenton takes your team to the wood shed my friend. They can do it. They are playing good basketball. The pressure is now for sure on Humboldt. So, I do know and you will here more in the next 24 hours, many are getting involved in wanting games moved. Like I said, Maybe you will loose the second game Monday night and the crowd problem won;t be as bad for the other three schools of who would play in the championship. If you were a fan at all, you would understand, this is a region thing, not a "Humboldt regular season game" This involves three other schools so it's not a done deal for your hosting yet. I just happen to know a little behind the scenes of what is going on and I will leave it at that. I will not comment any more on this matter, you can;t argue with a person who has no common sense.

Ok Humboldt High School and region 7 A, if you have any "BALLS", you will move this 3 game tournament bac to either UTM or Union University in Jackson. If your not to scared to play off of your home court and willing to take the chance, give everyone a chance to see the game. DON"T be selfish ! Move the game to a spot that will hold the crowds. Surely your not going to let little old Greenfield out smart your to accomodate everyone. I know for a fact that all three schools and coaches ( Halls, Trenton and Union City ) are already going to plead their case to move. If you don;t, just shows you want some home cookin' and have it your way. Hope someone at Humboldt and Region 7A is that smart to realize, do the fans a favor. If they don't, it won;t suprise me one bit. Now, you other folks on here can agree or disagree with me. It would be no different than playing at U C, Halls or Trenton. They would move the game(s). Just give the fans a chance.

Size has NOTHING to do with winning. I can prove that. Union City went 37 - 0 and won a few years back. Largest kid to dress out was only 6'1". They beat 5 and 6 A State Champions that year in Georgia and Missouri. They never lost a game, was at halftime 17 points to Manassas in the finals and came back and won. It all has to do with coaching and the skill your players have. Example, Humboldt now is much taller than Union City. Humboldt is 3 - 0 against Union City but the last time out it was anyone's game. U C lost by 3. Lead more than half the game. Trust me, size doesn't matter. Union City has proved that time after time with 5 GOLD basketball and a few silvers to go along with those Gold. Union City has ALWAYS been out manned on the court in size.

No sir, Polk has only played since January 3rd.

It is obvious you have not seen them play lately. Polk ( #5 ) is averaging 25 points a game and Weddle ( #2 ) is averaging 20 a game. Parker does have help. Union City has lost two their starters for the season due to a knee injury that was averaging 19 points per game ( Jones ) and another player in ( Walton ) with finger injury, averaging 10 - 12 points per game.

First Galilee, were you at the game last night ? If so, you can join in, otherwise, you have no clue of what went on. 87 vike made a comment about fouls, that's crying. he won, he could have and should have said how much of a game they were given. Union City went in as a heavy underdog, not even ranked in the state at that. So, if you weren't at the game last night, I suggest you refocus before making comments. If you were, then you missed some thing. 87 vike is a fan as am I but I also understand how things work, I know the game more than from a fans perspective. I've been there before, on the floor. And Galilee, count your GOLD and Silver Balls in your trophy case, lets match what your team has verses what U C has, I'm sure the Tornadoes will out count on those. I can back up anything I say, prove it and provide anything you want. Let me explain one other thing, when you come to any forum, you make comments to downgrade the play of a team because they almost beat yours, that's not respect. NOT one time have I come on here this year and said anything negative about the play of Humboldt. Even in some of my current post of last night and today, I complement Humboldts team. 87 Vike doesn't know how to do such. Take lessons from oldschoolballa with his quote "Parker got high praise over the weekend from Penny Hardaway. Penny is quoted in the paper saying that Parker is hands down the best player in Class A and could easily be Mr. Basketball for class AA or AAA. He said his criteria for Mr. Basketball is someone who is clearly better than anyone else. The fact that Parker is double and sometimes triple teamed the whole game in class A is a sign of the other team saying this kid is better than us. Very interesting point from an NBA great!!!!!!! " This is what respect is. Just learn to win as a champion, not to downgrade others who already are. In life, champions aren't well like because simply, well, they are champion programs.

I've not said much on this all season. 87vikingalumni, your team is good but when you start crying about fouls and calls not going your way, you need to back up and understand it ain't going to go your way every game. I'm sure your the first one who stands, yells and refs from the stands every trip down the court. Our kids last night matched intensity kid for kid. We had kids in foul trouble also. Remember, Parker was the first player from Union City to receive the first foul. I'f you were a stud player like he is, as well as anyone of your players for Humboldt, you would eventually get tired of being double and triple teamed every game out...still managing to average 30 plus a game. That goes along with being a strong D 1 recruit and Mr. Basketball finalist. Free throws, that shows a young man schooling others above their level. Getting them to give in on playing in ways they aren't able to play. So, I have respect for the Vikings, they are really good, balanced team, undefeated in Tennessee, just try to act more like a observer of the game, not a 16 year old fan who only feels his team plays mistake free. Hope we play again at Bethel.

Yes....like I have said before...Parker would be and is the best player in the district. We have others. Humboldt....lucky tonight. You Humboldt fans can cry all you want but when you step on the floor each game, fouls and calls aren't always going to go your way. There is no kid on the Humboldt bench can go step to step with Parker....not even 2 at the same time. Humboldt is well coached and play well together. The calls may not have gone-your way the entire game but they did at the end and it counted. 2 or 3 times, Humboldt kids tried to swing and throw a jab. The kid that was given a T at the end of the game should have to sit a game. I just hope we play one more time. Parker still drills teams like the number 1 Humboldt team forv30 plus with 2 and 3 kids hanging all over him. He should win Mr. Basketball but politics may keep that from happening. We want Humboldt one more game and win when it will really hurt. Hope we meeting down the road another game or even 2, will be well worth the price of admission.
