Where is Dyersburg going to get all this money? They had to sell cookie dough last fall for school supplies. I sure hope the coach from Bolivar or Union City don't read all these posts. It is going to be hard for DHS to get a quality coach. Mahanon was a last minute choice and the only reason Brown came was because his wife was from Dyersburg.

You know I guess Dyer Co. is the only one who recruits. What about all the county kids who play or played for Dyersburg. Strayhorn from last year's girls team. The quarterback on the football team lives out in the county. The all Region linebacker from Three Oaks.(I can't think of his name). If you think that Counce, Coffman or Brown don't recruit then you have you head in the sand. Dyer County has very little success....when they do why don't you let them enjoy it? Since I live in Dyer Co. I'm going to cheer for the Lady Trojans Saturday night and the Choctaws on Monday night. I hope they both go all the way.

They are a good solid basketball with a lot of depth. But, they are going have to play a lot better than they have the last four games.

Justin Blake is a junior. Ledbetter and Jones I believe are the only seniors.

Everybody thought Dyersburg would run all over Dyer Co. This game could have gone either way. For the next couple of years this is going to be the game. They are both very young and both with a good freshmen crop. Last year it was 38 to nothing...this year 7 to nothing. Who do you think improved the most?

This involved two West Tennessee girls basketball coaches. And what you said is my point. "Why would a coach want to fly somewhere with a team (make up of his high school players) that they can't watch play"

Can a coach fly with an AAU team and stay at the hotel during the "dead period". Even though they are being coached by someone else? But, their high school coach is there. And how can you get a waiver to break the rules? Would someone answer this?

The officials are graded. And the state tournament got the ones with the highest ratings. Officiating is tough. I have talked with one of the graders. Officials are in short supply. Most of the officials at least in West Tennessee have never played organized basketball and to me that's part of the problem.

I guess the announcer can say "that was a bad pass, that player stinks". Have you ever heard an announcer say that?

I don't think it's the radio announcers job to say that the officials stink. He probably smells as bad as the officials. Just say they think he missed the call.

Heard that the tournament will be rotated between Gibson County, Westview and Dyer County. Those are the three biggest Gyms in the district. If that's the case Dyer County would be next year's host.

Let me put my two cents in on this subject. First of all, Danny does a pretty good job with Obion County Central. He probably does it for the love of the game and not for any special recognition. I don't think any of the high school play-by-play announcers in West Tennessee do it for anything other than the love of the game. With that said, here are my favorites. Two girl's games tomorrow night. Dyer Co. vs Crockett Co at 6:30 and Obion Co. vs Union City at 8:00 P.M. I think that's right.

Get real, Smitty1. Dyer Co. had much rather play Union City than to have to play Crockett Co. again.

If the administration was doing their job this wouldn't have happened in the first place. That was not the police's job.

Everybody knows what goes on in Memphis. This is just as big a problem as the public / private debate.

I think Steve Holt of Covington is the best PA announcer hands down. The best play by play radio announcer...no question. Diamond Dave McCully. I know he's not to HS basketball now. But, hopefully he'll be back.

Thanks Baldcoach...Looks like open enrollment would have a better advantage than a private school. Say, like in Memphis.

Is the main reason for using the 1.8 to keep private 1A schools from winning so many football championships? And would someone explain the difference between private schools that don't offer aid and open enrollment. Doesn't Memphis have open enrollment? And one final question. Who represents the private schools on the TSSAA board of controls?

In West Tennessee my vote goes to the Covington PA guy. I think his last name is Holt. He is really good.
