Kim Decker are your crazy? McCord lost 80% of his scoring from last year with 8 seniors gone. DC beat Westview four times this year with two talented freshmen. Then Westview places four on the All District Team and DC has only three. Dyer County has won the District now three years in a row. And McCord has never won the Coach of the Year. He was a Co-Coach of the Year a couple of years ago with Tim Britt (another Westview coach) You might not think it now but you're going to miss DC next year at the gate. Dyer County did get the best trophy. District 13AA League and Tournament CHAMPIONS.

The big guy's mother was hired in Union City and moved to Newbern from Halls. The red head, John Hudson was an eight grader at Spring Hill who enrolled at DCHS. I guess when you have a good program it attracts good players.

Bill will be missed. No one will be able to fill his shoes, just walk in his footsteps. Bill was a graduate of Newbern High School. Dyer Co. will miss him. Prayers go out to the Haney Family. Bill was one of a kind.

How will the lost of the two Counce's (asst. coaches) effect the Big Red?

So you would put your Alma Mater before your son? What a guy. I have a DHS deploma and a son, daughter, and wife who went ot DCHS. I will be on the Choctaw side October 24. I won't have on orange and white or black and gold.

I am curious...why isn't your son playing for Dyersburg if Counce is that good. I am also curious as to what the people of MBA think about James Counce Sr.

Wrong in his last three years Counce was 27 and nine. 12 and 2 in 06 (his last year), 10 and 1 in 05 and 5 and 6 in o4. From 02 to 05 Counce won only one play-off game. 1 and 4.

I don't know who you guys are listening too. But, you're sure putting the pressure on the Counce. 1. Covington 2. Dyer Co. 3. Haywood 4. Dyersburg 5. Ripley 6. Crockett Co. 7. Obion Co.

I know it's a money maker, but money isn't everything. Bragging rights for who? If Dyer County is the larger school what would they have to brag about, beating a smaller school? And if they didn't play each other hopefully the mouthing would stop.

Hear DHS has a new quarterback from Lake Co and he's pretty good. Counce has only loss to DC once and that was the first time. Lynn Gardner was the coach. I agree Counce makes up for 14 points. Renshaw now knows how if feels to win. (Region 7AAA coach of the year) His first three years his record was 6-26. Counce's record for his first three years was 6-24. This should be a good game and in all probability will be their last game for awhile. DC will be moving up. Then we can pull for both schools.

StevieRay, you are right on. While the General has his boys working out all summer Renshaw has his hanging out at the pool. Now that Counce is back DCHS doesn't have a chance. I hope with the re-classification next year they don't play each other, then we could root for both teams. Even though last year's game was the biggest in Trojan history.

So you think DHS will beat Dyer Co. in football this year?

Let's face it since Counce's return, football gets all the money and attention. DHS is a football school. DCHS has become a baseball and basketball school and will make a run to defend it's Region 7AAA title in football this season. Adam Renshaw is becoming one of West Tennessee's top coaches. He's no Legend...and won't be until he's won a couple of state titles.

Ride on! Coach Bowling is a class act. At least when you see him, he'll speak to you. Good luck in UC.

Does anyone know who made the All Tournament teams in all classes?

Dyer County has not played Giles Co. this year.

These are two different style teams. Butch's bunch were pretty good shooters. Montrell was a better shooter than CJ, but not a better passer or defensive player. Fisk, Powell and Morris were good shooters, better than Blake and Parr I don't know. I do know this. This current bunch has way more depth, better defensively, and the most unselfish team I have seen in a long time. I would love to see them play each other.

And on top of that Justin does not play anywhere near a full 32 minutes a games. But, what impresses me the most about this young man is his dedication and his unselfishness. He is the first player to practice and the last one to leave. And it's always yes sir, no sir. He is a fine young man. Just like the Dyer County nominee 5 years ago, Brian Fisk.

Sounds to me like you are a basher. The future for all of Dyer County's athletics looks great.Nobody has been dismissed from the team.Lastyear's assistants were not let go. Brady left on his own as did Barbee. The Liberty fiasco is over forget it. Liberty caught more flack from the TSSAA than Dyer County. The huge cog that makes kids want to come to Dyer Co. is Coach McCord, because of the program he and his assistants runs. As far as how the community feels about McCord, Beck and Clark, all they have done is win and make Dyer County a better basketball team and one that is fun to watch. I don't know who you are, but I think you're the guy who used to charge to have Open Gym at DCHS. something that McCord, Beck or Clark would never do.

I guess J.C. Sawyer Stadium is going to be Astro Turf.
