  1. Whatever man. I try to speak my mind and give AC a little plug at the end and you go and pull that crap. Never again will I say anything nice about 'Lyin' Larry's Mavs. [Edited by KevB1990 on 9-23-02 12:07P]
  2. We're young swamp. 6 seniors, 26 sophomores. Can't remember the last time that ratio was that large. On the bright side, I was told the offense looked better last Friday. Had an 8 minute drive for a TD and a 6 minute drive that wound up with a fumble at the Chuckey-Doak 8. But it was against C-D. We need lots of help to make the playoffs, or we have to knock off one of the 'Big Three.'
  3. Actually I have friends from AC (although they've been out of school for some time). I didn't exactly put them behind Kingston, now, did I?! I think their non-region schedule is admirable. I'm not going to put them ahead of last year's state runner-up who is allowing less than 6 ppg, though. AC's region schedule to date hasn't been much. Smith Co. has played a tough schedule as well, just not against 5A teams. Knox West is not that great a team. Oak Ridge is a pretty good 5A team. Clinton is about the same as West, *and* that game hasn't been played yet. These rankings aren't based on games not yet played! Where would you rank the Mavs?? Gotta back you up swamp, though you really don't need it. West has beaten a young Alcoa team and a Bearden team whose only win is a 14-7 decision over winless Karns. West Got handled by AC and Central before falling late to Clinton. Clinton lost to Carter, who lost to Campbell County...need I say more. Oak Ridge is decent this year, but I'm not sure how far they advance this year. This ain't your daddy's Wildcats team. AC will be a force to deal with in the playoffs. I'd like to be able to see the AC/Fulton or the AC/A-E games, but I won't be able to unless it's in the playoffs probably.
  4. flip, Don't fan the fire in Claiborne County's belly. I've seen them twice and their pass defense is suspect, but I expect you can throw that out with this being the "Last Stand" for both schools.
  5. Rutledge takes on Claiborne County on October 11 for Homecoming...it's a big region game. I would prefer it be this week against Cawood (Ky.).
  6. Answer, PV and Claiborne aren't merging. PV is merging with Forge Ridge to form Cumberland Gap. Claiborne will drop 'County' and just be Claiborne. Also, I don't know this as fact, but if Claiborne wins the series will be tied. [Edited by KevB1990 on 9-22-02 12:27P]
  7. A-E ringing Loudon up for 50 doesn't bode well for the 'Skins against Sweetwater. Brock or no Brock.
  8. The Only good thing that come out of the game or what little we got to see was the this! :D CBS just doesn't show her enough Amen Sequatchie! [Edited by KevB1990 on 9-21-02 11:04P]
  9. PV and Claiborne aren't merging, PV is combining with Forge Ridge. Claiborne is just moving down the road into a new buildong and taking 'County' out of their name. PV and Forge Ridge will form Cumberland Gap, which will be near LMU in Harrogate. It'll be right off the same road that PV is, but it'll be near to H.Y. Livesay Middle from what I hear. I remember the Brazilian kicker Answer. I think OS popped Rutledge twice in 91 and 92 during our 18-game losing streak. I suffered through trying to make loses sound not so bad on play-by-play. Good thing it was a tape-delay.
  10. No I didn't forget the 28 point performance at Rutledge. Maybe you ought not say he's 'never' been stopped. Funny, Tony didn't mention that he was sick when he got interviewed the best I remember. I'll continue to do my own analysis thank you very much. [Edited by KevB1990 on 9-21-02 5:49P]
  11. Oh brother. Is this happening? 24-0 at the half (gulp) Gators...
  12. Coach Harrison told me on Wednesday that this game has been moved to Thursday.
  13. Rocky is only 6-4 plus, but has Kevin McHale like moves and has never been stopped. Uh, Campbelle. You remember the Rutledge game at Sneedville last year... Two words...Chase McBee. Tony even said it himself "He (McBee) made Rocky look like a little freshman." They had some good battles and overall, you'd have to give Rocky the advantage (esp. with Brad Seal and Mike Matthews along side).

    Alcoa 0-4

Way to break into the win column Tornadoes! Was it that easy?
  15. You're probably right. I know West got second and third teamers in against Cocke County, but I think they played starters all the way through against Jeff County and Clinton. But it doesn't matter much to me. If West wins, fine. Maryville won, that's fine too. Doesn't affect me much one way or the other. I can't believe that there's a thread about poor ole me...I'm sure there's other people that were way more pro-West to bash than me, a neutral party.
  16. Stars, it sounds like he played some when 'Shorts' Wolfenbarger coached. I'm sure he'll remember him. Coach Wolf is still on staff because Hammer talks him out of retiring every year.
  17. That is intresting. When did he play at RHS because I don't recognize the name from when I attended. Maybe he could fill me in on the 'good old days.' He's welcome back anytime he likes. I didn't even go to the game. I went and watched Seymour handle Claiborne County.
  18. Again, I didn't think it would be that bad for the second teams of either school to get in, but this is obviously proof enough that Maryville is to West like Florida was to Tennessee throughout the 90s.
  19. First of all, you need to calm down. Second of all, I write for the Tribune...I don't hold allegiance to West or East or Jeff County...I'm a Rutledge boy. If you doubt me, read some of my other posts. You won't hear any apologies from me, I said that I was neutral and I meant exactly that. I didn't care which team won and by all means I sure didn't say that I thought West would win. Yes, I did say that I thought it would be close and I did think it would be close. I'm a big enough man to admit when I miss on a projection. I am very impressed with Maryville as I was coming in. This didn't affect me either way, as I have no ties. The real question is, will you be a big man if and when Maryville goes down? Somehow, I think the answer would be no. Class goes a long way with me...you can be a winner, but don't be an obnoxious winner. Matter of fact, you sound a lot like some Marion County fans I encountered in the mid 90s when they were whipping everybody coming and going. As for posting, well...I don't recognize you being coacht himself and banning me so I'll post what I want and when I want (as long as it stays within the TOS). Like I said, calm dowm. 20. We were discussing it on another board and it appears that Hancock County needs games too...Vince vs. Rocky would be a great match-up.
  21. The AL West and the NL Wild Card are the only races in question. Oakland leads California...oops I mean Anaheim by 1 and won the season series 11-9. The loser will still be in with the Wild Card because the Red Sox are still cursed. San Fran leads L.A. by 1 and won the season series 11-8. Houston is 5 back of LA and 6 back of San Fran. L.A. goes to San Diego, hosts Colorado and finishes with the Pads. San Fran goes to Milwaukee, hosts San Diego and ends with the Astros at home. Houston goes to St. Louis, hosts Milwaukee and goes to San Fran. The 'Stros will be out after St. Louis takes care of them.
  22. Elizabethon has an opening, how about them? I'd pay to see The Rock and Big Vince go at it in the middle.
  23. It's on the tssaa website under classification or classification changes. Best I remember, they will play 4A. Don't stick us in with York and Livingston! OK...But I did stick you with Grundy and the Chattanooga bunch! I saw the changes section, but they didn't have a number or even a city, just somewhere in Rutherford County (Murfreesboro, Smyrna?) Drop me an email and I'll send you a 'rough' draft. kb7398@yahoo.com [Edited by KevB1990 on 9-20-02 12:04P] I can handle most of that (except Grundy themselves). All my drafts had LC and Loudon moving that way. I'll send you one in a bit. Well, if it's any consolation I stuck Rutledge back in with Johnson County and Unicoi County...and there ain't a shortcut from Rutledge to Mountain City.
