  1. To have conduct issues in 2 of the 3 games so far this season at a school in such a laid back suburban area makes little sense. Maybe David reminds all the kids of their grandfather and they don't fear him. A coach doesn't need to act like a Bobby Knight s.o.b. but it sounds like he intends to get their attention this time if the article quoted him correctly.
  2. I wasn't there but did see in the paper that they had numerous unsportsmanlike penalties on the way to blowing a 14 point lead to grab the loss. Scharch (sp?) used to be a head coach (Spring Hill). Maybe it's time to go "good cap/bad cop" and turn him loose on the guilty parties and have a stadium steps running session on Saturday mornings for those who can't act right on Friday nights. This loss pretty much squanders the Siegel win and puts them back in the hunt for maybe not getting to .500 for the season. There is also only so many things you can do with the wing t. It's not a great offense to have if you need to play catch up late in the game.
  3. Almost triple Michigan's % per population? Darn right it's great.
  4. It poured rain like a monsoon a while ago in the midstate. With a slow and wet surface, I'll take the "under" on total points scored and go Stewie by about 20-7ish. But they would take it and love to be 3-0 with Brentwood rolling in and a chance at a real signature win. Per the Sonny Moore computer rankings, BHS would be less than a TD favorite.
  5. This recognition is great news. It's a tribute to the kids, the schools, the coaching staffs, and yes - all you fans, parents, siblings, friends, classmates. I see this as a great source of pride. Congrats and thanks to every one of you who ever contributed to prep football in the state. Kudos.
  6. A chance for David Martin's team to start 3-0 first time ever in the school's young history. And this looked like a rebuilding year on paper, he must be doing something right. Road games are not ever usually "easy" - so what do you guys think about this one? Can J.O. make life difficult for young Stewie in this one?
  7. I thought MJ has several other top-100 in the state rated kids besides Grimes. Other than Oakland and Blackman and B.A./CPA, would they not be one of the best of the rest right now on sheer talent? If Overton "kind sorta" hung with MJ, that's not bad. Stewie (I think?) get the regular QB back this week (no concussion?) thus I would still take the Hawks as a solid road favorite. Maybe 24-7 or so. At least 21-7. Maybe as much as 28-7. David Martin might be playing the 10th grade QB too thus setting up a couple of really good future seasons of experienced Wing-t execution. It's not the easiest offense for young kids to master. That program seems on the verge but needs one difference maker athlete they haven't had yet. One of these years.
  8. Actually old John Overton is yet to score a point this season and Stewie would love to pitch a shutout at their place this Friday I would guess but won't guarantee it will happen. Between Overton and Antioch this season and McGavock having lost their fast tailback to Blackman... if LHS can't get ONE win besides the guaranteed W against WCHS, that would be really bad. And dropping down to play a 3a also-ran should not be allowed. TSSAA needs to step in and help with scheduling even if they have to force some schools to drop games and pickup others. Isn't the TSSAA a private organization? They can operate as they see fit and tell people "tough luck" if they don't like it?
  9. ?? Yo, LaVergne lost. The game has already been played. Who is left on the LHS schedule besides 3a WCHS that could end up with a win? 1 - 9 ... write it down.
  10. This year's Stew Creek roster looks like the shortest and least experienced since the first year when they had 3 seniors. Didn't keep them from beating Siegel by 28. LHS has been around a LONG time. It's big school. They don't deserve excuses. They play Whites Creek in football again this season? One of the worst 3a programs in the state. That shouldn't even be allowed. I used to feel bad for LHS, but not anymore. If they lose to Whites Creek and finish winless, it's because they deserve it.
  11. Is shutting out Glencliff in 2018 an accomplishment? MJ ought to go unbeaten with the schedule they have. Hendersonville might be a tough game. Don't see many others.
  12. C. tolt ya notta sleep on stew-ee it my bee a re-bilding yeer but ya never no stew-ee 28 - sea gull 0 fynul ---------------------------------------------------------- un-re-laytud iffin you want to date n merry ur furst cuzzin or ant, now theirs an app 4 that
  13. your inbred preview of the week Two-nites doubba-ewe gee enness radio game is Sea-Gull at Stew-ee. Stew-ee hung purtdee close with Franklin in that there jam-bo-ray I hear tell. Will the Sea-Gull band have another artsy-fartsy halftime show based on qwantum-fisics or sumtin? At least they don't have a kerry-o-kee girl messin' up bahn-joe-vee or 38 speshull.
  14. Stewie played ranked teams like Blackman and Brentwood out of region in 6a while LHS plays 3a Whites Creek. That should automatically count as a loss in a tie breaker scenario. Seriously. Why reward playing down three levels?
  15. Predictions on the game and who the winner will play from Williamson County? I say Stewie and on then the road at Ravenwood or Indy. Dress warm from here out. It's about to be frigid at night.
  16. And now a message from BARSandBARS... I dun lost faith in cleev-land ever sense they waved jonni-boy-manzeel. He mighta looked like kinda a disco redneck but that there boy shure culd play him some pigskin ball. I heer tell they sed he was a wife-beeter, but he all-ways stood for the oh say can u see song and that guy with the orange face and wig on his gord sed that was all that madders.
  17. The Williamson County 6a bunch has 4 teams tied in the region at 3-1. That one looks more complicated than the Smyrna/Stewie/McGavock horse race for 2nd place. Smyrna has a tough one left at McGavock on McG's senior night. I like Stewie's chances at LaVergne that night better even though it's not a gimme.
  18. There should be something about strength of schedule if it comes down to overall record. McGavock played Lebanon and Maplewood out of the region and nothing against those schools but that is not like playing Blackman and Brentwood and CPA.
  19. If (and this is not a prediction) Stewie beats LaVergne and Smyrna loses to McGavock, how does the tie breaker work to see who gets 2nd seed and a home playoff game? They would all finish with 2 region losses including Stewie over McGavock, Smyrna over Stewie, and potentially McGavock over Smyrna. These three teams are surprisingly evenly matched. It's a shame two of them will be on the road and one will have a dreaded trip to Brentwood High.
  20. hitched two yer kuzzin? eye here tell that bee whit yur trine two say taint it?** **special thanks to Delmar Napsnider for translating the question into hillbilly All it took was some Wild Turkey
  21. I've known Hispanic kids over the years who played soccer at McGavock. While McGavock is not Maryville or Oakland in (American) football they are decent most years. I don't get why parents would be against kids playing soccer. Fear of injury? Health insurance issues?
  22. Having so many diverse international kids could lead to having a really good FG kicker. On sort of a tangent, shouldn't a school like Glencliff dominate in soccer? I mean unbeaten state champs kind of domination? If they are lacking in American football due to a high number of international students, why would they not be incredible in the "other" football...a.k.a. soccer?
  23. Not my fault the Napsniders date their "kinfolk." If I run into Cletus, I'll tell him you don't approve of him dating his cousin-aunt-sister.
  24. die-rect from yur favo-rite 2-active pose-tur... **** Cletus J Napsnider*** oak-lund gonna whack sum fannie all-rite eye heer tell like a duck on a joon bug eye tell yoo that there merry-vul wont no whut to doo bout nummer 7 frum oak-lund eye heer tell he purty good dadburnit thay'll bee plum tuckered out frum chasin him 'round yall come bak now, ya heer?
