I have been a season ticket holder at UT for many, many years and I can tell you without one doubt that the band DOES NOT PLAY during a play. If fact, the pep band that goes around the stadium and plays Rocky Top will stop as soon as the whistle blows for the play to begin......That is true, whether you like it or not!!!!!

I have not read the article, but I was at the game. You can spin this game any way that you want, but the fact is the officials were terribly out of line. I am not talking about the actual calls that were made, but the fact that the officials in the last possession were making calls and then smiling at the William Blount coaches as if to say, "What are you going to do about it?" Forget the calls...it was a classless display by a group of men that abused their power. Also, forget Coach Meadows....the players at William Blount deserved a better fate. Maybe there were some Blount County fans that were upset.....I don't blame them....I have no allegiance to either team....my team happened to be too far for me to travel so I chose this game to attend......Anyone who was there and not a fan of either team had to say that the officiating was in no way called fairly......those are just the facts.....Also, I heard the students and the police officers demand that the Blount cheerleaders leave the field......Are only home team fans allowed to be on the field?....seemed a bit one-sided to me....only one more thing........what goes around comes around!

Just wondering how many of the football team pays tuition to go to Maryville and are zoned for either Heritage or William Blount? This would be a good project for someone.......I'm not from that area, but I've heard that the kids that play for Mayville are allowed to come from the county as well as the city as long as they pay tuition.......that sorta puts a damper on the schools who have to stay within their own district lines..... just wondering.....

I hate to break the news to you, DB, but you are not the red letter team for everyone that plays you.....not by a long shot.

Don't have a dog in the fight, but the Charlie that was referred to had to be Coach Puleo from WB......by the way they run-ruled Maryville 10-0 last night at SD..... Coach Puleo is a class guy from start to finish. He spends countless hours outside of school and away from his family on baseball matters....his team means the world to him. To try to disparage him in any way associated with Maryville's coach is a disgrace. He didn't need to come to WBHS to coach baseball....he had already proven in many ways that he knows the game inside and out. Any young man that comes into contact with him is lucky....whether as a player or a student.

I believe that SD has to play WB today....I could be wrong.....but WB beat Maryville 10-0 yesterday at SD. Does anyone know?

This topic, in my opinion, was not intended to do anything but point out that certain actions by a group of high school athletes went beyond what is normally expected for that particular school and its history. You may interpret these remarks as you see fit......

Do not count SD out!!!!They still have the most awesome hitter in East Tennessee in Hawn......you may be surprised.

Just wondering if Bearden will bring those "shaker toys" to South Doyle and use them in their dugout!!!!!!

I have heard from several people who have followed Bearden baseball for years that this exhbition on Saturday at William Blount was a new low. I expect coach pitch and maybe minor league games to include some immaturity in the dugout, but not what was portrayed by the Bulldog players. Filling up soda bottles with gravel and shaking them the entire game was a bit childish. You may say that it got the job done, but it also proved that the class of Knoxville is no longer found on Bearden Hill. I never thought I would say this, but South Doyle and Farragut far outweigh the Bulldogs in any form whentrue class comes into play.......shame on you.

This is the same song and dance that I heard on the WB thread a few minutes ago. You mentioned 10 run ruling WB at UT......maybe they need to play you again like Karns did and chances sound pretty good that they will beat you this time.....you really didn't like anyone saying that WB could compete with Halls....but you never know..

I'm not here to say anything bad about Halls.....but since you came on and chose to be sarcastic about another school, I will reply. I saw you play at UT against WB and the game did get out of hand. However, I was not all that impressed with Halls. I have seen South Doyle play several times this year and they are a much more talented team than Halls. You may feel like you can beat up on WB because they don't play you very often, but SD will own you this year.......count on it.
