  1. Will Rhea County's defense continue to shine or will Brainerd's athletes be too much?
  2. At Rhea. The Eagles have got to start eliminating the penalties, a punt return and a run, both over 50 yards were called back. 11 penalties for 90 yards. If they don't fix this problem, they'll be in for a rude awakening soon. Good game though. Justin Pritchett and Julian Sharp both looked great.
  3. I really respect the two Tyner fans for saying they lost and had no excuses. Most fans or players lose and then blame it on the refs or something stupid like that. No one just takes the defeat, and says its their own fault. Some people even complain of how they could have won bigger on here. I tip my cap to you two.
  4. I was wondering what happened in this game. I didn't know if Cleveland had a bad game or Brainerd is better than in the past. Sounded like a case of both. You can never underestimate a team especially on Friday nights, because any team can win any given night and thats what makes high school football great.
  5. Good win for the Eagles. The offense started a little slow, but the defense played great all night. The offense got two scores before the half, one after they got a turnover with under a minute left. Caleb Wilson scrambeled around and threw a perfect pass for a touchdown with 9 seconds left. The defense played great all night they had a great goal line stand in the third that showed a lot of pride. This should be the Rhea team that shows up week in and week out.
  6. I'm really impressed with Ooltewah so far. I thought after losing so many starters they were all hype, but I was wrong. I have a lot of respect for the Owls. They may talk a lot but they have backed it up every week. I would really love to see them go deep in the playoffs this year. Goodluck Owls.
  7. I wouldn't call Rhea County's freshman team one of the best in history, probably not even close. If your best freshmen team gets beat 33 to 12, I would hate to see the others. Ooltewah has a very tallented freshman team. One monster of a back and another speedster.
  8. I don't know about Cleveland beating Red Bank and Rhea County with no problem. Those two games will be very good, but Cleveland winning both of them no problem, I don't see that happening. Comparing how two teams did against one team is overrated. The teams can have injuries to key players and that could change a game. One team can match up well with one team, while the other don't. One team can play completely terrible and the other can have the game of their life. So comparing how two teams did against the same team isn't as helpful as you think.
  9. I agree the first game jitters hurt Rhea County and the stupid penalties killed them. The schedule thing is also true. If they would have played a team that already didn't play in week 0, that would of helped a lot. Ooltewah is a very good football team though. This will be an exciting game Friday night. Hixson will have to prove if they can put the shut down D on a better opponent, and Rhea County will have to prove if their for real or not. I got Rhea County in this one with a lot of motivation after last Friday.
  10. I would like to see this topic about after week 8. A lot will happen considering its only week 2 and no one has started region play.
  11. The teenagers that smoke at the entrance. No one cares, it doesn't make you any cooler. When finally the band plays, but its when your teams offense has the ball. The parents that praise their sons and players when all is good, but when everything is going wrong its all the coaches fault.
  12. Awful confident in that pick. They do have a great player in Caldwell, but i think their performance at quarterback will determine how good they will be. There's too many good teams in this region and too early in the season to make it a lock for anyone to win 4-4A.
  13. Number 7 will change with Hixson and Rhea County. Hixson will go down to Evensville this Friday. It was a great game last year when a hail mary fell short for Rhea County. I expect another great this game this year.
  14. Rhea had a good case of first game jitters, and being at the Nest didn't help. A dropped pass that could of went for a touchdown in the Eagle's first drive hurt big. Ooltewah came to play and capitalized on Rhea's mistakes. The Eagles seemed scared or nervous in the first half and came out a different team in the second half, but it was way too late. Rhea had to many costly penalties. They had a couple on defense that they would have got off the field, if it was not for a penalty. Rhea will be in good shape though. They played a very good team. Marshall is so tough to bring down. It's amazing watch him run the ball. Ooltewah will make a run this season, and don't count out the Eagles in 4-4A. Good luck Owls next week against McMinn, should be a good matchup. Good luck Eagles next week, they will come out swinging at the get go against Hixson.
  15. I liked the show a lot. I was really looking forward to it. That number 1 was pretty bad, it seemed like he scored everytime he touched the ball. I 'll like to see how the show turns out over the next episodes.
  16. Rhea County has about 15 seniors. They have a good back up qb. It would be a shock if Rhea County didn't make the playoffs with a lot of returning starters and going 5-2 in region play last year. But they haven't won a playoff game in 3 or 4 years so they do have something to prove in Evensville.
  17. This was a great game. In the first half Ooltewah's offense couldn't really get a drive going a big run by Marshall made the score 7 to 14 at half-time. Both teams had costly turnovers. Something I never seen before happened at the beginning of the third quarter. First offensive play for Cookeville turnover. First for Ooltewah they gave it right back to Cookeville. Marshall fumbled at the Owls own 10 and the big number 47 grabbed it out of the air and scored in the third quarter to tie it back up at 21. The defenses battled it out the rest of the game with Ooltewah hitting the field goal with under 2 minutes left I think.(Not sure because the clock wasn't working.) Cookeville got the ball with 30 seconds left at their own 20. They got sacked a couple of times and got down to the 50 with 4 seconds left. They threw a hail mary that was well short, and the game was over. Great game by both teams, first game mistakes were critical in this game.
  18. Thanks. I remember Caleb Skogen having over 1,500 yards receiving and thinking that was crazy. Now a Skogen does that every year.
  19. Temple looked good, there size for only having 18 people amazes me. How many Skogens are there? It seems like one graduates and another comes in.
  20. Opening kickoff, TD for Rhea. First play on offense for the Eagles, TD. Rhea's number 1s scored 4 times and held Livingston scoreless. Livingston had some tallented backs, but it seemed like they never had a chance to a run against the 1s.
  21. The freshman is good, prolly the most consistent, but he had some sort of leg injury and wasn't his usual self. I guess he has been kicking to much. I've never heard of a leg injury from a kicker though, kinda funny.(Unless they take their celebration to far and tear their acl.)
  22. Opening kickoff, TD for Rhea. First play on offense for the Eagles, TD. Rhea's number 1s scored 4 times and held Livingston scoreless. Livingston had some tallented backs, but it seemed like they never had a chance to a run against the 1s. Rhea County is in desperate need for a kicker they have 4 guys battling and none of them stick out above each other. The kicker controversy in Evensville continues with Ooltewah one week away.
  23. It looked like Red Bank has changed there offense a lot. They were using the no huddle. They also ran the Utah option. Caldwell wasn't playing either. Does anyone know why?
