Section 17. Athletic recruiting is prohibited. Athletic recruiting is the use of influence on a student or the parents or guardians of a student, by any person(s) directly or indirectly associated with the school, to secure or retain a student for athletic purposes. This comes from Section 17 of TSSAA handbook. If a parent seeks a school initially a coach can talk with student. A coach can not make first contact. Even in an open enrollment school district the coach can not make first ,initial, contact. Initial contact by coach is violation of recruiting. If a school is in his feeder progression he can talk with those students any time. Coaches really have no business at other school contests unless a feeder school of his is involved. And just because this has become the nature does not make it right. This has gotten way out of control.

I hope they do well this year. I think they would have a good year if MW had not been let go for no reason.

I am not even close to being in the know,but it is just what I hear. When I hear it there must be something to it. Very sad if it is true. Here is word that many should go by, Integrity, the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Cheating coaches is not helping . I have heard that some coaches are better recruiters than Nick or Butch.

Are we talking D1 or all players that go to college? I know smaller schools will take kids that did not even play much in HS because they need numbers asked by their schools, Some small colleges will have 200 or more players, whether they can play or not. Also how about how many of these players ever play or better yet get their diploma. Schools with all these college players need to be winning programs or a look at the coaches needs to happen. I do know of one school who had 8 kids go to college at all levels and the school only won two games.

Mike Head, an assistant from Stone Memorial(East Tenn) is going to be new coach as soon as HR finishes whatever they are doing. Sad is that Antioch has had one good football coach since 2001 and he was just let go for no reason unless personal feelings are now a reason. 17 years with 1 good coach is pathetic.

Was! Interesting. Defense or Offense? I know for a fact he was not going to be coaching at Stone Memorial. Good hire in your opinion? I think not.

Everything heard about this guy is that he has no coaching experience as coordinator either side of the ball. freshman head coach maybe at beech. been in 6 or 7 schools last 10 years . was not being retained at stone memorial. only one assistant in building left. also hear new guy is a lazy butt. also a jerk. admin surprised everyone with white hire. most said this was a black hire all the way. maybe hire was to prove a point to recent coach. looks like antioch could be in serious trouble. #wth#smh#lmbo#lol.

Actually you do not. Pettiness was not the reason. Do some more research. You are just assuming you know. Second was of their own doing also. Petty or not you do not try and trump the boss even if you think you are right. Need to understand which battles to fight and ones to save for another day . Also being able to control your biggest supporter would have helped.

Both were let go because of things not related to on field coaching. You obviously do not know.
