  1. Hey GC, this game was a good one. Ha . . . who would have thought? DHS had a 3 point lead at half-time! Great game by Coach Decker's Trojans!!! As for the refs . . . /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Well . . . let me begin by saying this: Dyer County is GOOD and played well, BUT I believe that Dyersburg played a better game. J.T. Sanders and Cameron Thomas were outstanding . . . back to the refs . . . The refs tonight completely changed the pace of the game late in the 3rd quarter. Also, tonight was the first time I have ever witnessed a group of refs change the momentum of a game. The most INCONSISTENT officiating I ever witnessed. To say the least, I think if that game was played with a different crew, Dyersburg would have won. Shoulda, coulda, woulda I guess. A different crew might have made it a 30 point DC win, WHO KNOWS, but I feel like the officiating in the fourth made a difference in this game. Dyer County IS a better team- NO doubt! But tonight the Trojans were the better team and the refs were about as bad as the Trojans were good. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it! BTW-Way to go LTs on the route . . . and nice student section again DHS!
  2. Last I heard, Thomas cannot play due to a suspension. (school related) We are VERY close to hiring a football coach. A GOOD football coach.
  3. So . . . DC beat the Trojans by 14, BUT this time the Trojans will be without Justin Whitfield, Jason Click, and Dyersburg's leading scorer Cameron Thomas. Could be interesting, to say the least. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  4. Dyersburg lost to Westview last night by nine. Still getting better.
  5. Obion . . . 16-20 points better than Dyersburg? Well, the game last night was a five point win for the lady rebels . . . hmm. I believe this Dyersburg team is becoming quite good. Their ball movement is better than ever. The swarms of young underclassmen are settling in and becoming assets on the court. Look for them to be the surprise of the district tournament.
  6. He is staying at Camden . . . the above post regarding a Camden pay raise is correct.
  7. I was hoping someone would have my back /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Go Trojans!
  8. Talk about HYPOCRITE!!! You said "one think that I really can't stand is when some look down on another school and the kids and act like they are second class citizens because they didn't go to Dburg." . . . HELLO!!! What do you think your original post did??? You said that going to Dyersburg WAS SETTLING FOR SECOND BEST! Then you say that "we" act like DC fans are second class. For your information, I know I have more friends at DC than you do and I don't look at them ANY different than I do anyone from Dyersburg. I was only pointing out some things that you obviously didn't know about Dyersburg High School. And another thing . . . if you look back on this topic, how many people from Dyersburg talked about DC illegally recruiting??? . . . ZERO!!! I have a ton of respect for DC. I would not have went to see them play in the state tourney two years in a row if I didn't. And you know, I hope Dyer County wins EVERY SINGLE basketball game this year, except the one on Feb. 3. How can a Dyersburg fan claim we have ever been the BEST at anything??? How many gold balls do we have? . . . ZERO . . . So why even sweat Dyersburg fans saying anything? And something else, you live in Jackson . . . so why are you SOOO concerned about OUR rivalry? You cannot make me believe that you don't have ties to Dyer County . . . and if you don't . . . get a life and stop dissing a school that the only you know anything about is that it has 3 arrogant fans on coacht.
  9. Okay look buddy . . . you are telling me that if parents send their kids to Dyersburg they are settling for 2nd best??? DC has had three productive years in boys basketball . . . okay . . . that's three years of being consistently better than Dyersburg in one sport. OKAY +What about girls basketball? . . . DC has beat Dyersburg ONE time out of the last 12 +Baseball and softball have been about even over the years +Football . . . DC has won ONE time out of the last 7 . . . 10 STRAIGHT YEARS OF STATE PLAYOFFS +Track/CrossCountry has competed for the state championship numerous times What about ACADEMICS??? +Dyersburg is the ONLY school in North-West Tennessee to be named a Blue Ribbon National School of Excellence twice in the last decade. +Last year Dyersburg seniors received 2.7 MILLION dollars in scholarship money. +over 30 students at DHS have a 27 or better on the ACT this year I have read many of your posts. It is obvious that you are in love with Dyer County and dislike Dyersburg. That's fine, but don't sit at your computer and tell me that MY PARENTS settled for 2ND best because I did not go to Dyer County. The coaches and faculty at DHS have prepared me and hundreds of young people for life as adults, and the education I have received helped me gain a full-ride to a D-1 four year university. . . SO BEFORE YOU JUDGE the parents, coaches, students, and alumni of DHS . . . EDUCATE YOURSELF please . . . I like the color of the grass at DHS just fine and if you get all the perks I have listed for being 2nd best . . . #2 is fine with me!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Comon adsmom . . . do you really think that DC had WAY more fans than Dyersburg??? I know for a fact that the visitor side in the Dyersburg gym does not seat as much as the home side. Given that the Dyersburg student section was on the DC side, I believe that if the DC fans seated on the home side swichted seats with the Dyersburg students, DC would have a full visitor side and that's it. Plus, you are expected to have a nice crowd . . . A) number 2 in the state /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> these are DC's basketball glory years C) RIVALRY GAME. The fact is when these two face off the crowd is going to be about the same on each side. (exccept for the district championship at Milan last year /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  11. Atleast they WERE CHANTING . . . and to be NUMBER 2 IN THE STATE . . . you would think DC would have atleast a decent student section. The Dyersburg student section is INCREDIBLE! Last year the DC administration complained that at the game in Dyersburg there wasn't anywhere for the DC students to form a student section. This year, a section was roped off, yet there was no more than 20 people standing up some weren't students.
  12. Well Dyersburg DID contain CJ . . . in the first half Dyersburg DID break the press . . . in the first half AND Dyersburg DID NOT score points in the second half . . . Good effort by the Trojans and WAY TO GO STUDENT SECTION!!!
  13. Dyersburg typically plays 9 in a game. Guard play is OKAY. They don't have really "big" men in the paint, but Patrick Walden and Cameron Thomas are both good in the paint. Patrick WILL have a couple blocks and Cam will probably be our leading scorer (if Big Ced is as good as I've heard, then maybe not)
  14. Dyersburg brings a TON of young talent into the game, and Jessica Light is a BEAST. I have not watched DC girls play this year, so I don't know much about them.
  15. Can Dyersburg break the press of Dyer County? Can Dyersburg contain C.J.? Can Dyersburg score points in the second half? Is it even possible for Dyersburg to win? Really can't believe a thread has not already been started, BUT now it has, so let's talk it out.
  16. Coach Coffman has had several techs for "yelling" when he was actually yelling at his kids and not the refs. I guess some coaches have to yell to get their point across, but he did have a little extra yelling in his system against LC.
  17. I can't believe I missed a game like that. It explains why the Dyersburg guys game didn't end until 11:30. "The Dyersburg coach" . . . Randy Coffman, was running down court because he was mad at his players, the Lake County coach was running OUT on the floor because he was mad at a call. In the eyes of the ref, there IS a difference. The Flowers kid for LC is a very good player and has very bright future. I would hate for me and a friend to have face her and Jessica Light from Dyersburg in a two on two. I missed the games tonight, but I was told that DYERSBURG won the tournament. Way to go LADY TROJANS!
  18. Do not label all people from Dyersburg as "trash talkers." I have many friends at DC. Heck, you may be one of them. Dyer County's boys basketball has been dominate the past couple of years, but that does not make DC the superior school either.
  19. Well, they beat us, (Dyersburg) and if I recall correctly, Mitchell kicked the PAT every time except once. This year's Mitchell team is better than last years IMO.
  20. Mitchell's band is the best Memphis band I have ever seen . . . (I actually think they ARE better than Melrose) Their football team is even better. Mitchell is different than most Memphis teams/schools. They actually have fans at away games, their band and cheerleaders actually go to away games, they ARE well coached, and they have a kicking game. It will be an interesting game to see, but I think Mitchell may upset DL.
  21. Well, I have seen many teams play at the borro. Austin-East, Mt. Juliet, Oakland, Dyersburg, Jackson NS, Upperman, WhiteHouse, Trenton Peabody, Chester County, Liberty Tech, and Dyer County are some of the teams that I have seen, and I will say Dyer County, Dyersburg, and Mt. Juliet had the largest fan support by far of any of the others. The biggest crowd that I have ever seen in the borro is when Dyersburg played Mt. Juliet for the AAA GIRLS state titile in 2005. The second largest crowd that I have ever seen in the borro is when Dyer County played White House in the first round of the state tournament in AA BOYS last year.
  22. As I look at Haywood's schedule, I notice one thing, inconsistency, but they have defeated the Trojans twice. They have a narrow loss to Northside, that is interesting. (Dyersburg beat NS three times) As I look at DC and Covington, I see an early season matchup that DC narrowly won. Should be interesting. I'll be there early tommorrow for a seat. GO TROJANS!
  23. I was there. Prather, in the next two years is going to be one of the best in the state. As for the matchup, Vic held his own, but Prather had 25 points. Quite a few of those were in transition. He fouled out, I believe Vic did as well. Northside had five players foul out, three fouled out for Dyersburg. Logan Parker guarded Prather for a lot of the game. Logan was awesome! We had Memphis refs though!!! You wouldn't believe how CONSISTANT they were! One of them was horrible, but consistant. Vic didn't have his best game, but had an absolute nasty dunk . . . with an AND1.
  24. Well, to me it resembled USC. If you have ever seen one of their football games, fans do the same thing, just less of the yelling, chanting and more of the arm motion. Just a thought!
