  1. If Maplewood couldnt do it with 45...what makes Pitt think they can? Puh-lease.

  3. FB, I never was 100% sure who you were till just now. Coulda been 1 of 2 people, I narrowed it down to. Now I am certain and I'll see you Saturday. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Go Rebels! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. He was a real animal at UT Ron....I think that alone precludes him form the list. Thats me though...my brother and sister were TJ's age. I always wondered about him...mentally. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Carl Stewart RBMichael Potter FB (he didnt play it, but would make an excellent one) Brent Burnette QB (Cade Thompson/Jason Phillips 2nd string) Aaron Douglas TE (wasnt our current principal a TE?) Tyler and/or Ryan Maples WR/DB/PR Danny Spradlin LB (Played for UT & Dallas Cowboys) Chuck Prugh OL Nick Black OL Tanner Caylor LB Dwight Wood DE Dee Arrington LB Drew Galyon DE Donnie Amburn, Alan Law or Tommy Beaver athlete Willie Nelson WR (Wilson said he's the best athlete he's ever coached...period.) Gary Tucker DL Any of the Talleys (Jon, Paul, David, they were all good linemen) Any of the Clements (need I say more?) Any of the Smiths (that says it all) Most of the Phillips (joking about "most") /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> OL - Chase Anderson OL - Chuck Prugh OL - Brandon Waters OL - John Raulston There were a lot of entires I agreed with. BTW, this thread is on the wrong site...but thats my opinion
  5. Brooklyn, I'm not being a hater, but you'd best ask Hillsboro about Maryville. Maryville knows how things are run in Nashville and apprently there's lots to still be learned in Music City. Maryville 2 Nashville 0 Now, thats given what we've seen....good luck Saturday. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. My hats off to Curt. He's a great athlete. Still dont think he'll play QB in D1, but he is one great athlete. The best MHS has played since Riggs. South's coaching staff set their team up to go home early. You cannot revolve a whole football teams success around one player...outside of the basketball regions (Regions 1 and 2). So South is playing basketball, Curt will graduate early and go focus on his future and the RED Rebs will bring home trophy #12. Life is good.
  7. I know one number that wont be enough tonite....54...the number of players on Sull Souths sideline... If you come with the "MHS should be 5A" bs, you've already lost Blount...err...South.
  8. Reasonable bulletin board material. That was wise... Phillips aint no QB (though he is playing QB at the moment). Wait till Wiscansen plays him at TE and you'll see what I mean.
  9. ...does Sullivan South have coaching in the Army All American Game in January in San Antonio? The answer to question 1 might be because of great bulletin board material like question 2... "A lot of it will come down to can they (Maryville) tackle our quarterback?" -Stacie Carter Answers: 1) None 2) Often

  13. Good luck to both teams. I hear Rhea has a 1300 yd rusher. I'm not sure he's seen the kind of speed MHS will have from sideline to sideline since Rhea played Red Bank. Also, it's hard to be one dimensional and win vs. the Rebs. Halls did exploit the Rebel defense some though and expose its weaknesses. It should be a good game. I'm certain Coach Gaylor has worked hard on the problems the Rebs had with Halls run game. BTW, the record between the two schools stands at 11-2. ET Prep Talk dot com

  19. I'm proud of all of our Blount Co teams. All 4 won last Friday. Heritage had a 100 yd rusher in JD Baker as well. He scored twice. Go Mountaineers! MHS, WBHS and AHS still play a lil bawl too /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> BC, check out talk shoe internet radio station "53629". Radio talk from 'round home (sundays 7pm, or recorded). /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. William Blount @ McMinn Co is a barn burner. Should be a good one, with two of the best RB's in the region going at it. I give Willy B the edge, but just barely. If it rains tonite in McMinn, it'll be a tight game. Central and Powell. That'll be a good one. Central has home field, but the Panthers are smelling blood in the water after a narrow Central defeat at the hands of the South Doyle Kees. I like the Knox Catholic/Fultonis quickly turning into the game of the year in 3A. Catholic is at home and should win. Fulton has lots of weapons though. Bubba Stokes could turn that game. talk shoe internet radio, channel 53629...Sundays 7pm.
  21. Clary is a consumate proffessional. A real pleasure to work around. And, he'll even share his pizza. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Thanks for not letting me starve last Friday Dave! Hey, great show planned for this Sunday at 7pm. Interviews with players and coaches, a look ahead to next week's action, a look back at what took place this week too. Guests, etc. Should be another jam packed show. We're on talk shoe website internet radio. Just log on and type "53629" into the search bar at the top. Cant listen live? Each show is recorded and can even be downloaded as a podcast.
  22. talk shoe internet radio show 53629 is pretty good too.
  23. Region 3, 4A and Region 2, 5A are now both at loggerheads in the standings. Region 3 now has 4 teams tied for 3rd place (West, Central, Clinton, Powell) with 2 losses apiece. Surprisingly, Knox Halls finds themselves in 2nd place behind perrennial powerhouse Maryville. Even more surprising is how Knox Central got their second region loss. The South Doyle Cherokees must have really seen something in the game film from the Central/Maryville clash the week before. The Kees beat the Cats in overtime! Region 2, 5A is just as big of a mess. There are 4 teams tied for 1st place with one region loss now. William Blount crawled back in the race with a thorough beating of previously unbeaten Oak Ridge at Blankenship Field Friday. We'll see if the Govs can keep the heat turned up on this greuling schedule of theirs with a tough test vs. McMinn Co this week. As it stands, Farragut is the odds on favorite, with the tie breaker vs. Willy B. To keep up with all thats going on in high school football in East TN, check out the info below... 24. It's gonna be a rough season for Panther faithful. Not enough power at the skill positions. No oen's really jumpin off the page at me. Hunker down Panthers and play tough!
