  1. Mr. Football Kicker/Punter Should have stats on kickoffs of at least 85% or better inside the 5 yd line or thru the end zone. Should have hit the majority of their field goals with long at least outside the 40 yards distance Should have successfully made 98% of the PAT's Average at least 44 yds or better of punts with of course stats inside the 20 and FC Good Accedemics and good citizen are very representitive of the individual. If a kicker/punter has these criteria and has had good publicity they may have a shot. Remember Kicker/punter has to go against all classes and there is only one award. Hopes this helps, Just my opinion
  2. Keep dreaming guys, this Kid is the real deal. He played with a pulled muscle and had not punted in 5 weeks leading up to the game. He knew he would have problems but wanted to play. One game does not define the player with snappers and holders you haven't used all year(Scouts and Coaches know this). He has posted the best stats thru out the year as presented. Only one other kid in the state had a better punt average and that is all that he did and he was a finalist. The reason no one wanted to kick in the all star game was nobody could do both punt and kick at his level. This athletic only missed three pats out of 40 in his entire season. He also had a 45.6 yard punt average. You do the math guys, nobody is better and if you know anything about kicking timing is everything. These kids just did not have their timing down on both the east and west teams. Scouts got their eyes full of his level of ability during the three days of practice and pregame. That is all that matters. This kid won all region punter and kicker. All southeast area punter/kicker, all state, Tenneasean dream team and Mr. Football kicker. All of those coachs and sportswriters could not be wrong, they got opportunities to see this great kicker in action throughout his season and he is the real deal. Mybe these kickers will be in contention next year you speak of but don't downgrade the accomplishment of this young man. Thanks.
  3. To say it was a joke is clearly showing your lack of knowledge of all the kicker/punters in the state. It is better to state your case for your kickers than to show disrespect by putting down others. It is obvious you have not seen this athletic kick or punt. He won the award hands down by being the best kicker and punter in the state. Nobody can match him in combined stats. 2007 All area kicker/punter Chattanooga with a punt average of 45.6 yards per punt. His last game against whitehouse he had 5 punts with a 46.6 yard average. Best in Southeast 2007 all region 3-3a kicker/punter He can kickoff thru the endzone at will during regular season. Almost all of his kickoffs went thru the back of the endzone during regular season games. The only pats missed out of 40 were bad snaps or holds due to snap. During the all star game one of his 4 kickoffs was caught 2 yards deep in the endzone in the all star game. The all star game is for fun and to show off talents. The scouts that saw Mike kick and punt during the three days leading up to the all star game and the pregame demonstrations on the field in pat's, field goals, and punting were very impressed. I will not go any deeper into this topic but the best kicker/punter in the state won this award. He has kicked against or with the best kickers in Tenn. and surrounding states in camps or games and they will tell you the same thing.
  4. Reviewed some of the east practice and all of the players looked good. They are big and fast. At this level that is what you would expect to see. The Kicker/Punter from Polk County Looked good with kicks going long and high.

  10. Hey guys, cannot make the game at Howard. Does anybody know if it will be on the radio and what station. Let me know if there is one. thanks.
  11. How did all of these kickers do in their jamboree's. Michael Hammons won both the kicking and punting competition in loudon jamboree with a 64 yard kick and 58 yard punt. Both good kicks. It is hard to find jamboree information and how the contests went. Once again i think Mike Hammons will have a good year and will be a contender if this 3-3A region is looked at. He also attended Vanderbilts and Louisvilles kicking camp and won the longest field goal competion at vanderbilt with 55 yards. He also averaged 48 yards in punting at louisville camp. Good luck to all kickers involved, kicking is a lot harder than it looks and it takes a special committment to reach this level.
  12. Mike Hammons of Polk County High School, 3a. Does all of the pats, field goal, Kickoffs, and punts. In two of the three camps attended this year he hit longest field goals during the camp of 55 and 58 yards. He also had longest kickoff and hangtime of these camps in Tenn..
