  1. You say their first team? But the team as a whole has not, whereas York has. There be a difference matey!! But, I don't think it all comes down to the coaches. I think the kids who want it more will be a big factor. And the fact that, as much trouble as I know this will stir, that SC looks less aggressive and physical. But, that's just me
  2. You have to be something before you can fade away, but you wouldn't know about that. Ouch man. Real ouch.
  3. If ya didn't know, York has compiled 5 shutouts this year. Meigs, CCHS, Smith, Upperman (not saying much), and White (again not much). They have outscored their opponents 247 to 83. Only allowed 170 passing yards from Poteete and 65 of that came on a busted coverage in one play. Allowed 128 total yards on Smith County. I'm not looking for SC to put more than one in the endzone unless they get some big breakout runs. I do, however, see York coming out and giving it their all. These seniors have been fired up, and I see them putting at least 3 in the endzone. At least, I hope.
  4. Can't wait to see this great First Round game! Hope the drive down there isn't too awful bad.
  5. Looks like somebody is jealous of the valley teams. Cumberland Co over that's right they are playing basketball. Polk over Alcoa. Ouch! Low blow... But, I too hope Alcoa gets taken out! Gotta love underdogs!!
  6. And York didn't have their starting quarterback in until mid way through the third quarter. First play was a 62 yard slant. They then put 21 more points on the board in about 8 minutes. Just to let ya know.
  7. Never pointed a finger. It's just that people are becoming very accustomed to seeing your boys on top. I would just like to see someone stir the pot as was the case of Livingston a couple of years ago.
  8. And who might "us" be? Alcoa knocked Tyner out of the playoffs in the semis in '05, but it's obvious you're not a Tornado fan. Looking back at the schedules, York Inst. squeaked by Tyner in '06 by 1 td. In '07 Tyner lost in the 2nd round to DCA (who lost to Alcoa in the semis), and last year they lost in the 1st round in what must have been a heartbreaker. GO TORNADOES! Yeah, ok, we beat them in 06. Lost to DCA in 07 in a landslide. We were one game away from visiting you guys. And, I have no real feelings either way, I just like to see an upset every now and then. Too many people are becoming overly cocky in Alcoa, but, I must say, it's been for very good reason.
  9. If you heard Seq defense was big, then how do you know York has more speed? Seq has got some speed, I'll tell you that. They look like little energizer bunnies! 2, 44, 5. All of them can move. I will agree they don't look like the most aggressive physically, but, their running backs will take it at you. This will be a very good game. Good luck to both sides. York by 14
  10. Don't know a thing about Peral-Cohn this year, but, SC has taken a beating the last 2 games from supposedly inferior in-region teams (Cannon and York). If they don't step it up those boys will be going on to bball. And, as for the SC fans running their fingers, it always happens. Just don't worry about it. The fans may not be too respectful but the players were the best of sportsman the other night at JTown. Goodluck to both teams, and, as bad as I hate to say it, good luck SC. Show the rest of the state what 8-3A has got!
  11. Uhh, didn't their 06 team get put out by us in the first round at home? Or was that 07? And, good luck Tyner. Wish you the best of the luck! I would love to see your boys shock the TN HS football world!!!
  12. Best of luck to Cannon. Hope to see you in round 3!
  13. Go Purple and Gold. Can't wait to see you play this week! Gonna do our best to make a run
  14. Good luck to the Dragons. If they can make it through and play like they did against SC, They have a very good shot at making it to the championship. Gooooooooooooooooooo Dragons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Actually, that was C.W Smith, the athletic trainer. He has done that for as long as I can remember. You can see him do it before the first kickoff and before the post-halftime kickoff. Tis quiet funny I think.
  16. Did you play on the 1979 York team? That bunch would knock people's helmets off. I recall the BGA game in Nashville. They were ranked, dressed out 98 players, and had anall state tight end and linebacker. York dresses 18 players that night and wins 40-0. If you were on that team you know what it takes to be a winner! May have been york's best team....ever, Nah, wasn't on the team, graduating class, but, yeah, I do recall that. =)
  17. Great game. Hope you guys enjoyed the popcorn and the bleachers! I was dissappointed to not see the horn tonight. (not that you would have needed it ) sorry, couldn't resist. Great game York. They came out determined. SC got their heads down, and never was really in the game. After the Interception return for a TD, it kind of slid downhill. No excuses for bad field or weather here. Just a well played game. Really hope SC picks it up in the playoffs. I would like to see them go deep. Wish us luck with our draw. Very good possibility of CAK, Goodpasture, and Alcoa. Haha. Great game York, and seniors, it's been a joy to watch you guys play and have a good time.
  18. Anyone else want to bad mouth livingston this year? Lol
  19. Why don't you work on some seating first? It's ridiculous situation for people that want to actually see the game. It's also ridiculous the game wasn't played tonight. Hah, you mention the bleachers as if us on CoachT.com can do anything about it? Just stick to talking about the games instead of trying to pull the attention away from your less-than-par team. I find it funny myself. I'm done posting unless provoked. Just come to the game, set there, eat your popcorn, and blow your little toy train horn. Me and the rest of the Amish Nation are dying to see you sulk back down to your little pit.
  20. Ok, question. I have to agree with Bobcatfan here, why, if York has played such a "sorry" schedule, and is just a "decent" team, where they ranked 8th at one point? All I have heard is excuses as to why York is so bad. Why has there not been any mention other than once as to Smith's "close" encounters, and then the not so close one I witnessed at Tech. If York is a "decent" team, then Smith is no better. I was not the least bit impressed. 4 picks, about the same number of fumbles, and it wasn't even raining... Just don't get too cocky. And, haven't you heard? Smith pays double to get in... We're trying to get us a fancy indoor practice facility as well...
  21. I am sure SC would have...and play at Tech on a relatively dry field. I would think it's too late now. Perhaps seeing as how Smith after their first game at Westy with the 10+ fumbles doesn't want to play on a wet field (hence all the Tech visits for Smith) whereas York has becomed quiet accustomed to it. I would think this would be an advantage to the ground game of York and play against Smith. Common sense if you ask me.
  22. Uhh, Come up to J-Town friday night and see! We'd love to pack the house. SC will pack the fence. No doubt about that. Has the track been condemned too? Nah. I'd suggest getting there early to get the seats though. If not, i'd suggest lawn chairs.
  23. Uhh, Come up to J-Town friday night and see! We'd love to pack the house.
  24. Our boys have tendencies to get a little violent with each other. Lol. Bad blood and all. considering how you people drive up there I can only imagine how playful you can be on the football field Now that one lost me. Who was that one directed at?
