  1. I think you answered your question in your orgional post. They have had to play the powerhouses of LA, JC, CC, Upperman.GC. And several of those time have been just to get into the tourny and usually have to face another of the mentioned teams once there. Central is either in the substate or state tourny about every year. I would be willing to bet they have won far more state tournement games than they have lost. They just cant seam to get a break in that last game and win the big one. And as a LA fan i'm not sure why I keep defending them, I must be losing my sanity.
  2. LA struggled mightly last year in the semi finals, and seamed to just fall apart. They let East Ham. hang around in the sub state game far too long also the other night. LA seams to be playing up or down to whom ever their playing this season. I look for a good game Thursday afternoon and wish the Lady Cats the best of luck. If they play the kind of ball that got them threw the district championship and the region final i will say they bring home another gold ball.
  3. Sorry I didnt know she was nominated this year. I hadn't heard about it or I would have included her as well. Good luck to her and JC in the tourny. This area is not underrated. We are well known across the state and I can promise you no one is wanting to see LA, CC, or JC or Crange pop up as who they have to play first in the state
  4. Funny you mention her. You must be talking about Sunday Watson. I bowl with her on a league. She works with my girlfriends sister. Unforutantly she dosen't seam to care much for the game anymore. I can never get her to talk about it. I was very happy to get to meet her because she was so good and had heard so much about her, and she don't want to talk about basketball
  5. To make it to a sub state game in less than five years of existence is pretty good. I'd say in a few years they will be well known like the rest of us as a contender. They played with a lot of heart tonight, and gave us fans a little scare they just wouldn't go away lol. They had a ok amount of fans esp with the weather the way it is. We will have a full house monday i'm sure. I don't have a set place I sit but i'm usually almost at the top in the first section of the floor length bleachers(not the student section that goes by the goal lol). when you walk into the gym from the main doors. I'll have on a blue shirt that says "It's Tradition". And I though everyone smiled when they heard HOGEYE? I was horse after the game tonight I yelled so much. I hope we have good officials for this one the ones we had tonight shouldn't have been able to call a church league game let alone a high school substate game. My girl friend refuses to go to games with me bc I yell lol.
  6. It just seamed the shots would not fall for LA for long periods and EH gave it all they had and kept them selfs somewhat in the game. After the game got back to within two yes LA got their act together and took off and took over. I agree I think we could have made a blowout of it early if we just would have. They will be fine in the state. Looking forward to a round four with CC in the title game. Good Luck Lady Cats represent LA well. And btw yes good job on the announcing tonight, was that the first time you've done it there?
  7. I was just sitting here re reading some post and it just hit me. This area has had alot of Mr/ Miss Basketball nominations and Winners. And have three this time Sissom from CC and Masingal(sp?) from MC and on the boys side Ramsey from LA
  8. Cody what year did you graduate from Central? I graduated LA in '06. I can remember several great games between these two schools. The round house is amazing and ive never seen anything like it in high school basketball anywhere else. I hope you enjoy your visit to LA on Monday win or lose. It's kind of odd thinking of playing central in a boys game it always seams to be the girls that play. And it seams like a chess match between Coach Morgan and Coach Riddle every time. Its going to be a very loud and packed gym Monday I'd recommend getting there by 6:30 at the latest as we were almost full tonight on the home side by then and had some fans on the visitors side. EH didn't bring a whole lot of fans, Will MC travel well?
  9. Well several upsets happened tonight, the biggest in the round house with the CC girls winning on a very controversial shot. Then Grainger falls to CAK after going undefeated in the regular season. Should be a interesting state tourny
  10. Yea its in her hand. And if there was video evidence allowed it wouldnt have been counted. But thanks to the TSSAA theres not any so all we have is the pairs of eyes that are wearing a zebra costume and a real time view. Two of the three called it good in real time so thats what they had to go with. From the way it sounds they wernt great tonight anyway for either team and had things been different earlier in the game who knows what could have happened. Best of luck to Cannon in the State till you meet LA in the final. And I wish McMinn Central the best of luck next season y'all have a great team, coach, and a amazing fan base. Looking forward to the game monday at LA.
  11. A mess is what happened tonight from the way it sounded. GC had some great teams in '09 '10 they beat us in the Championship game in the glass house in '09. It was a great atmosphere
  12. There will be no party crashing on Monday at LA. We are celebrating our girls going back to the state tonight and will be doing the same this time Monday for the boys. All joking and bantering aside I expect a really good game on Monday and I hope and pray it dosen't end the way your game did tonight. I have the upmost respect for your team, coach, and fans. Thats heartbreaking to see. I would not have wanted to have had to make that call. As to the fans there tonight I could see them being upset, I know i would have been boiling if i was a chargers fan. But to call the cannon co fans out only as the other poster did dosent sound fair as Im sure both sides were into it over that call. Its a shame such a great game and atmosphere had to be ruined by the ending Safe travels, here and home Monday, I'm sure you'll understand if I don't wish you luck lol. but if we should get beat may you win it all. Hope Masengil win the Miss Basketball
  13. Really we have three threads talking about this now!! The shot was made and counted as good. It's over. Was it a good shot idk even with the videos I cant tell exactly when it was out. My origonal thought was its late but now idk. and i'm going to leave it at that. Was the shot in the state tourny just like this one or was it clearly good/bad
  14. LA 70 East Ham.54 was the final and it was a 10 pt game through out most of it but it did get to within 2 at a point in the 3rd
  15. Enjoy it. This is the last time LA, Cannon, and Macon will all be there together. Macon joins the other two in 8-AA next year.. Its going to be a mega district of state powerhouses. But will give at least one new school the chance to make it to state
  16. I'll agree in slow motion it's late by a .01 second or dead on time. I don't think that exact tape review would overturn the call. You cant see her hand close enough. But ill give it to you it looked the .01 second late in slow mo but in real time I can see how they gave it to her
  17. I have to agree with the MC fans i stopped it when the clock hit zero it was still in her hand it looks to me. I'm happy for Cannon bc that puts both 8-AA teams in the state but I do feel for the MC fans and players, I think it was a best judgement call and it just didnt go MC's way. They need to have video evidence for these types of games
  18. +1 to regions being seperated. East Ham. gave LA a run for their money tonight and thatr worries me seeing as many thought that it would be a blow out and it was close all the way to the 4th quarter
  19. We would have a lot of different teams in the state tourny bc all but two would be elimanated before the state. As of now there are four teams that are playing in there respective classes that used to be 8-AA. JC now 7-A Macon Co. AA and will be 8-AA again next year and LA and CC who are both 8-AA this season. This area rocks girls basketball. Also have to give a shout out to the lady chargeretts from McMinn Central who we usually have to face yearly in the sub state game
  20. So its been LA and DC in football and basketball. Why not baseball, soccer and tennis? Seams like its been a great year for both places so far. As to tonight, CONGRADS LA on #6. DC played with all the heart they had and I think really surprised a lot of people starting this game the way they did. If they had a full health team we would be on the road Monday no questions ask. Keep up the fight and leave it all on the court Monday and I hope to see both in the glass house.
  21. The problem is this. I don't care who it is NO team should be able to play a championship game on there home floor. If a hosting school makes the final it should be moved to a netrual court. Besides one or two people on here most are not complaining about h2o playing in this game but more of the fact that the gym and parking is just too small to fit everybody. As for having to travel to LA when its 7-A's year to host its actually better than trying to get to one of those schools every night, and for sure a lot closer for y'all. Plus there is no hc advantage for anyone and parking and seating is great.
  22. Wow go HOGEYE! Good luck to both in the sub state
  23. I heard there is a game going to be played tonight, between to very good teams. I wish I could be there to watch it. But I will be listening to it on the radio. Safe travels to all and GO HOGEYE!
  24. Coaching can make all the difference in the world. You can have the best players in the state and have a poor coach and lose to a average team with a great coach. Bledsoe baseball if I remember correctly is pretty good. I wish yall luck in your season unless you play one of us. Back to basketball. Tomorrow night should be a good game I hope for both teams. I'm curious to see how DC is going to match up with LA without several of there key players this time around. Any update on how Howell is doing?
  25. Im from LA so I don't have a dog in this fight but my .02 is this: The schools of the hosting Region get to pick where there going to be played. Just like JC, PC, Crange choose to have it at LA on a netural court for all teams. Even though they all come to LA once a year during the regular season. Why not do the same down there and just agree to move it to a netural site? Smith Co. is right there and has a 3x bigger gym than any school in your region. This region is having the same problem that 8-AA had a few years ago trying to cram 5 teams fans into one small gym in Baxter at Upperman High School. The way it sounds if there was ever a fire or emergency where you are playing a lot of people could end up getting hurt before you could get everybody out or rescue crews in if your blocking the street.. I know the hosting school is supposed to be able to handle a certain number of fans to be able to host and I'm wondering if these numbers are way to small for the fan bases around here. Also I think that it's stupid that if one region is completely put out of the tourny after the first round that the other District has to travel two hours still to go play the games instead of bringing it back home. LA boys are in the same boat. I could rant on for a while more but ill leave it at this: The TSSAA needs to get there act together and get things straighten out and stop worrying about how much money they are going to make at the expense of what its costing the schools. They need to have some sort of responsibility for there officials, and make sure that playing areas are adequately large enough, and teams are not having to travel 2 or 3 hours for no reason.
