New coach for Carter basketball?

Who is the new coach? Usually word gets out before it comes out in the paper.

I am told (in somewhat shocking fashion) that Chad Turner WILL NOT be the new head coach at Carter.

 

I guess the focus now shifts back to Flatford, who it appears has changed his mind about the position and will reportedly accept the job.

 

 

 

Shocking, but (if true) this is an excellent selection as well.

For those of you that only get your sports from the Knoxville News Sentinel--both the Newport PlainTalk and the Morristown Citizen Tribune are reporting that Carter has named a coach. They hired a GREAT COACH with a proven track record.

 

Also Cocke County High School has a new head coach.

It should be official by the end of the week(if it isn't already), but Brad Flatford will be the new boys basketball coach at Carter.

 

He is currently the boys basketball coach and AD at Cosby. Has had a lot of success there, so hopefully it will spill over to Carter.

Just out of curiosity, (since I did not see the article) did the Knoxville paper allude to what Mitchell is going to do, or why he was released?

No they didn't, it doesn't matter now.

Good hire for Carter. Brad Flatford is a very good coach, and also a great person. Carter will enjoy having him. Cosby will miss him. The other coaches in their Cosby's district and region are glad to see him go...which is probably the best compliment someone could give a coach...

Is it true that Carter has lost the Minor kid to Fulton? That seems to be the buzz on my end of town (southwest knox county).

 

If so, that is a terrible shame. That kid can be a difference maker.
