I should start this post by saying I should have put St. Joseph's (IN) instead of (PA) in my previous post.

You are absolutely right footballfanatic. I hope tha Govs do well because this year is the last year for one of my best friends as an Austin Peay Governor. Don't mention his name on here, but I'll tell you that the guy I'm talking about will anchor the offensive line this upcoming fall as a three year starter.

I know exactly who your talkin about. I thought he was older when i was there, i didn't realize he had 2 more seasons left. hopefully they'll find a few more good linemen to help him out. they'll have a strong running game with the guy who came in as a freshman last year back, along with that huge fullback. hopfully they'll develop some receivers and be able to move the ball efficiently.

11/12/05- Murray State (Murray, KY)

11/19/05- PFL CHAMPIONSHIP (TBA)

* means that it will be a PFL Conference game for the Govs thumb

The game that really sticks out in my mind will be the November 12th matchup against future OVC opponent Murray State. The Racers and the Peay have quite a rivalry on the hardwood and it would be GREAT if that same kind of intensity could be brought when these two teams square off on the gridiron. I know that in Clarksville it will be one empty place that Saturday evening because there are already a boat load of us that plan on making the trip to Kentucky that weekend. I was shocked to see that the Govs did not try to schedule some more OVC teams such as TSU, TN Tech, or UT-Martin, but that is alright because they will be on the schedule shortly. Let's Go Peay!!!

I've heard news that Coffee Co. standout rb Jake Nunley is now going to Austin Peay.  That is good news for the Govs.  I guess the scholarships that will be available the following season and the really good chance to start at RB right away there looked to good to pass up.

The Govs starting tailback is gonna be Fletcher heading into fall practice. He was about the ONLY bright spot on the Govs offense in 2004, which was one that scored over 2TD's in a game 1 TIME (and that was the OT win against Davidson). Austin Peay was pretty darn good on the defensive side of the football last year in my opinion, but players from that team are gone due to either graduation OR academic ineligibility. The incoming youngsters will have a chance to come in and play right away in the fall, so numbers for coach McCray and his staff should not be a problem after this upcoming season.

Your right Fletch will be the starter, but i'm sure Nunley will put some pressure on him. McCray does like to use more than one back so Nunley will see action right away. And my main man Joe Howard is gonna be blockin for both of them from his fullback position. 3's up!!!

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
