MBA vs. Ravenwood

I agree that Ravenwood should make the jump when they are ready.  Not trying to be cocky or anything but its hard to get experience when we play teams that just might have started a year or two ago.  But if Ravenwood had been in division one this year it would have guaranteed us games that we would have loved to have played against some other d1 programs, (particularly the big three). However since we weren't in the d1 program we didn't get scheduled a coulple d1 games that we wish we could have played. Hopefully if things go right and we stay healthy and focused, we will look forward to playing division one next springtime.

I agree with this statement by next year we will be ready to jump up to D1 and it will be fun to have games like the MBA game on a daily schedule. The one thing that is good to see is that ravenwood didnt even play there best game against MBA. sure they will say the same thing but it is good to see a D2 team compete like that and show that some D2 teams can play. I think ravenwood will need to keep there head on there shoulders tho for the rest of the season to finsih strong. Next year watch out tho rhs is going to be a break through team and wont be a joke for D1 competion!

Ravenwood has grown an excellent program, due in great part to the Woodland Middle School program. They have very good coaching and take the program seriously.

The middle school program is the key-private schools have had the edge in that area, as well as coaching, which has kept the gap between DI and DII.

Brentwood Middle started a program in the last two years-look for Brentwood High to get better and better as well. They already are far better than they were four years ago-much better depth.

First Houston, next Ravenwood, then Brentwood, then Franklin and Centennial and others will be going DI in the next few years.

Viewing lacrosse for the past seven years,IMO, the gap between DI and the top half of DII has closed rapidly in the last two years.

Whoever wins DII this year will likely move up into DI, that being either Cordova or Ravenwood.

Don't count on Cordova moving up to D1. I believe they've won D2 for the last 3 years, and every year people think they should move up. They always say they are losing all their talent and wouldn't be able to compete. But when they can pull from 8 or 9 schools, they always manage to find that talent.
