dback33
I may be wrong, but I believe if you 'intentionally' play the ball back to the keeper, you must head the ball back to him in order for him to legally pick up the ball. The thigh would qualify as a kick. If it is not headed back to him, it is classified as a handball.
ca7
umm i think u play for fairview and if thats the case i think this happened in one of our games last year to and to be honest i dont really kno the rule u may be right but i always thought it was u could play it back with anything except the foot
dos_sporter
FIFA rules say you are allowed to. Anything that doesn't come off of your foot the keep is allowed to pick up. Please keep in mind that this is the FIFA ruling... I'm not sure about TSSAA...
qb141
as the player who played the ball with his thigh, i have been taught as long as its not with the foot it is legal. im not sure what the official ruling is though. ive done the play on other occassions with my thigh and not been called, this is the first time i personally have been called for it. the refs need to just have a clear idea and be consistent
CAsoccerGiRLiE
It has to be played with the head. i think the rule may have changed to the head not to long ago, but sometime in one of our travel games the question came up and they told us the head...but then again it could be one of those things where the refs tend to "make up" there on rulings as they please
dos_sporter
CAsoccergirlie - I'm not trying to be rude so please don't take it that way... but Travel soccer plays under the FIFA rules which are frequently different than TSSAA.... it might be the same for this call though...
