I don't think there ae any qualifications required for AAU refs. I've watched a lot of games while watching my all-star little sister play in the 10u league. These refs are disgracful!! I haven't been satisfied with one game i've seen officiated(win or lose). I've come to the conclusion that they probably get their officials from the work-release program. haha

Most of the ref's you see in AAU at the sub-state, state and super regional level are college or high school ref's. Not all are, but most are.
