Here are my September picks for the single A state tournament in March 2006. It is never too early to talk about it!

Regions 1-2: Oliver Springs and Unaka

Regions 3-4: Jackson Co and Clarkrange

Regions 5-6: Perry Co and Summertown

Regions 7-8: Gleason and Union City

Regions 1 and 2: Just a guess after Oliver Springs, Oliver Springs has possibly the most talented freshman in the state!

Regions 3 and 4: Loaded! Gold and Silver balls very well could end up here, certainly one of them will! Don't count out Clay Co either! But my money would be on legend!

Regions 5 and 6: Perry Co has 2 excellent players (also Ms Basketball) returning from a substate team, Summertown has been there before!

Regions 7 and 8: Gleason is the best team in these regions, they play fundamental basketball. They lost in the state finals last year (it just happen to be in Gleason in the region semis :D ) My upset pickhere is Union City, they are up and coming, and moving to single A will help considerably. Trenton, Greenfield, Humboldt, and Riverside could make some noise.

Final Four (dependant upon bracket):

Jackson Co

Clarkrange

Gleason

Oliver Springs

What does everyone think? I want to here from ptguard12, especially about the Middle Tennessee regions...

I have possibly a more limited information base than some folks, but, I am opinionated. I say JACKSON CO. OLIVER SPRINGS CLARKRANGE are the top three contenders. I am afraid that Clarkrange's experience level might give them the top advantage. Jackson County has the best coach and probably the best players, but can they hold up to the pressure? Oliver Springs, has yes, one of the top Freshman in the state, BUT, as good as she is, If Oliver Springs don't make their run count this year, I doubt that they can compete with Jackson County (as a whole) over the next several years. And Oliver Springs probably knows this, I say that They will work really hard to make it count. I think that single A will be a fun to follow this year. My money would be on (if I had any) JACKSON COUNTY. HAVE FUN GIRLS!

Clarkrange has the best coach. Brown at Jackson Co. is a good coach, but he doesn't have the numbers that Rogers has. Should be a great state tourney this season. That's my opinion. :thumb:

Who is the freshman star?

(SORRY) I was referring the the post earlier, speaking of the Freshman from Oliver Springs. I understand that she is possibly the top Freshman in the State and don't doubt it and I also think that Clarkrange is positioned for a State run with their experience level. I also Think that Jackson County is more the total package. A Strong Experienced Coach and Strong experienced players add a deep Bench and a lot of (WANT TO). HARD TO BEAT
