Last year the Webb/Catholic game was a heartbreaker for the Spartans. This years team seems to be able to get the little things done that My team last year couldnt. Watch for Ward Farmer, I taught him what I know, he better be a bad ######. I hear Harrison Smith has gotten to be pretty good, but I can't bet against my Spartans. Im expecting one heck of a game, and I am sure I will not dissapointed.

I would just like to update you from the webb practice field i talked to my cousin who plays for webb today and webb's star rb/db kevin campbell had a 3rd degree ankle sprain which he recieved during practice and will be unable to play on friday. So not only will webb be missing there star running back ther big man taylor askew will not be playing due to a dislocated shoulder recieved in the BGA game.

is this for real or just a ploy by webb to catch some people off guard? Can anyone else confirm this? anyone from webb?

well i have grown up with these guys and know a lot of the webb kids personally since i go to west and live just down the street so the answer is yes i have just called taylor askew himself and he has dislocated his shoulder and i have also talked to one of my long time friends ward farmer the starting center for webb who also confirmed both of these injuries.

i think this will be the best webb vs. catholic game as far as hype goes we will just have to see if the game will add up to the hype. the skill position players for all teams are very good so i think it will come down to the men upfront both catholic and webb have very disciplined and strong offense and defensive lines but i think webb has the speed and more discipline to hold off catholic's big uglies and break a few plays on offense, im pickin webb in this one but i cant decide on a score, anyone else have a comment...

I'm hearing that #2 (Vann) is out for Catholic. Webb has everybody. Two kids have been mentioned previously as being injured for Webb. I'm hearing there's nothing to it. It's a rivalry week and a lot of wild things are being said!

Should be a great game!

Im going to have to correct you, as I have said before i go to west and know a lot of the guys from Webb and I have talked to Taylor Askew who has dislocated his shoulder and will be unable to play. He also backed up the rumors about Kevin Campbell's sprained ankle. I have also talked to a few of my other friends from the Webb football team, Bryce Bell, Ward Farmer, and Chad Manning who all have confirmed both Taylor's and Kevin's injuries.

If true, it won't be close. Webb is good and very well coached, but Catholic already had the edge in ability. It'll be a blowout now.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
