What was the controversy(s)?

The 1st one came on Oak Ridge's 2nd goal. A long pass forward to an Oak Ridge player who was 5-10 yards behind the Centennial defense seemed to be an easy off sides call but the line judge was for some reason 20-25 yards upfield and apparently couldn't see the play. It turned into an easy goal for Oak Ridge despite the Centennial goalies best effort to stop the breakaway. The 2nd came on a Centennial goal by Jenna Achten that was overruled by the center ref. The Oak Ridge goalie mishandled a shot on goal and while trying to dive back on the ball, Jenna Achten kicked it in. The center ref came walking in slowly and decided that the ball was in the possession of the goalie and therefore not a goal. After the crowd went crazy, the center ref walked over to the line judge to get his opinion. The line judge was overheard telling the ref that it looked like a good goal to him. The center ref walked slowly back toward the goal, apparently trying to make a decision, and finally stuck with his initial ruling. The crowd went nuts again and the rest is soccer history as Oak Ridge goes on to win 2-1. The non-partisan comments after the game were that Centennial got zx$xzz! but you hate to take anything away from a very good Oak Ridge team. Even though they may have been outplayed (or at least outshot 22-8), they certainly are going to get a chance to bring home the state championship. Good luck to Oak Ridge and it's a shame a very good Centennial team had to lose this type of game.
